Total War series seldom disappoint me ever.

Anyway, China was very strong during imperial age. However towards the end they were weaken by 8 other countries during the opium war.

Opium critically wounded China which then leads to massive corruption.

If were not for that, China would be first world country and also a super power.

Anyway, in the modern days China is a power to reckon with and they are on their way to become a super power. With its cheap labour and they high value professionals (For eg. accountants)

Malaysia 3 years experience get RM3600-RM3800 per month

In China, for similar experience you'll get RM18,000 per month

I am looking forward to this as well since the last one kept me awake for several days and weeks of late night gaming.

PC Gamer US gave Empires Total War a 94%.

Sounds more and more tempting by the day.

Anybody getting this?

If so, is anyone able to play this @ 1920x1200 resolution at a smooth FPS rate? And what is your PC configuration?

Thanks.

There is somebody selling in the Gamer's Hideout at a cheaper price.

I am thinking of getting my copy from him.

Empire Total War in garage sale

I am in office now so i cant really take pictures of it  sweat.gif

I took the normal edition (not the special force) so it's a pretty "normal" box.
It's the same box design you can see on this page of TSB website:

ETW@TSB

Inside it just have the manual, the two cds of the game and a small leaflet explaining you need Steam to install the game.

Edit: alwizbthere yes as boon.fong said below, it will install the game inside the Steam Folder, so you have to install Steam on the partition with your free space on it.

You cannot change this, that's how Steam works.

Hey Gormaz,

Is there more copies of ETW Special Edition in 1Utama?

I think I might get my copy here as well.

This retail copy also requires Steam? You gotta be kidding me.

From what I saw I think they still have some there yar. Gamer's Corner shop one.

I cant absolutely guarantee you they have some left when you reach there but I bought mine they still had at least a Special Edition showing (I bought a normal edition).

And yes, it's another Steam game (and GFWL also from what is written on box), tonight I might not be able to play much as I have other stuff to do so I will just launch the install and let the slow ass Steam update it...
*
Thanks.

I think I'll get the special edition, if there is still a copy there.

I am just going home to sleep tonight. Work till 4 am this morning and came back to work @ 8 am. I think I need a break.

I am currently installing the game but unlikely to have time to play (maybe during the end of March).

Nice picture Kianweic  wink.gif

Boon.fong: I am personally hoping big on the patch CA is supposed to release early next week (from their announcements), it seems to be slightly bigger than the one we had last week. If that one does not fix the white-scree-crashes-to-desktop I might just give up on the game and come back to it in few months once they settle down.
*
Thanks.

Too bad don't have much time these few weeks to play, so much work.

Fortunately, I am getting a new PC soon.

Hopefully by then I can play at 1920x1200 with all the bell and whistles turned up to maximum.

I am still kinda new to Steam but from what I believe is that when you uninstall a Steam game it will still show in Steam under the "Not installed" section.
If you reinstall you should not have to activate through Steam again, just maybe patch if a patch was out since you uninstalled.

At least that's how I understand the process as well, games are linked to your Steam account, the physical files on your computer are another thing altogether I just uninstalled DoW2 since I need space and it now shows under the "Not installed" section.
*
That is true, I bought Half Life 2 Collector's Edition many years back.

It shows as not installed when I logged into Steam. So does Half Life 2 Lost Coast, Half Life Source, Half Life Death Match, Half Life 2 Death Match and Counter-Strike.

I think the reason for this is to prevent 2nd hand sales for its games since the games will be tied to Steam. 2nd hand sales does not result in Valve or other games company profiting from it.

You guys are so lucky, I haven't even had time to touch mine yet due to heavy workload.

Anyway, could Frags update the title since the game has been released earlier this month.

Just my 2 cents.

rome total war... empire total war

i just auto resolve battle
saves time....

battles are boring anyway

The battles are the best aspect of the game IMHO.

If it weren't for the battles, this could easily be similar to a board game like Monopoly or Risk (ie. rolling a dice)

Bought this game almost 2 weeks ago, haven't got the time to touch it.

Just installed and left it there.

Hopefully when I get my new rig I would have some time to play this game.

Alright, I finally received my new PC last night.

I'll report my experience with this new PC once I install the game and play with it for awhile.

Hopefully, I won't encounter the sound problems like my old PC (equipped with X-Fi). I am currently using Asus Xonar DX2, it's a lot better than X-Fi in my opinion.

I am having problems re-installing Empire Total War in my new computer.

It takes forever for the part where it says "Creating local game cache file...."

Any help?

Make sure you are on a good IP...It does take a while...reports have it that a better internet connection helps at this stage of installation...i personally have no idea...i'll try to dig around in steam support on this
*
Thanks, I left it on the whole night installing and now its finally done.

I think I am probably the person who spend the least time on it compared to the rest in the thread.

So far I have only spend like 0.2 hours in the game hahaha......

Played for a few hours on Saturday. No issues with the sound effects and voices after patching.

The sound effects of the cannons are awesome!
