Wow! this game is fantastic! it totally didnt fall short of my expectation! The battle is huge, the animation is very lifelike, great graphics AND performance. Grasses, trees, soldiers' uniforms, the sea and most importantly the ships are so incredibly detailed. Its so cool watching ship cannons fire different kind of projectiles and ripping enemy ships apart.
I mean this is RTS at its finest. Except the loading time. Anyway i have a question: Is there any friendly fire in the game? will i accidentally killed my soldiers when i order my rifleman firing into a group of meleeing mess? |

QUOTE(LeoLilieno @ Mar 2 2009, 10:42 AM) I am thinking whether to buy this or DOW2. Since DOW2 is cheaper and review also not bad BUT its single player campaign is not that well received. Though Total War is more expensive, its single player campaign make people go ga ga over it. However, RM179 is really expensive to be honest. Am struggling whether to buy it or not. Another option is also to get my friend to buy it for me in Singapore. Hope its SGC50. After conversion, cheaper than in Malaysia. +RM30 for an insanely long campaigns (conquer the world as realistic as possible) and singleplayer replayability is quite worth it imo. The multiplayer part too is huge like the singleplayer mode. But two of em are difficult to compare. One is superfast action and one is slow marching. And i heard from gamefaq's forum that the load time in the demo is sooo long because everytime you play the game it need to unzip all the data to load. So in retail the load time should be much faster. Wonder if it is true or not? |

hai guise i have some noobie questions about Empire:
1. I saw my horsemen trampled over some of my line infantry when i ask them to charge a group of enemies in front of them. but most of the time i am certain my horsemen just ghost pass my infantry line when they gallope...so is it horsemen only run down friendlys when they charge? 2. Is it safe to fire to a group of infantry in a melee fight? will i shoot my own men? 3. Is the infantry getting any bonus for using bayonet against cavalry? 4. How do i recruit those cool mounted native Americans who can fire their musket on horsebacks. 5. How do i capture an enemy ship? win the battle while it's fleeing? that's all in the mean time |

There's something im not sure, can you unplug the plug bayonet after you put them on? After i click plug bayonet on my line infantry they are stuck using melee for the rest of the battle, which is not cool. I havent research the ring bayonet technology yet, obviously.
how do i make my country spawn more building grounds so i can build schools? |

more questions
Facing bayonet infantry, does that mean a direct cavalry charge into a line of infantry(with infantry facing the cavalry) will not be good for the cavalry? Or line infantry can only brace for impact in the box formation? I also find difficult for my cavalry to enter prolonged fight with bayonet infantry. If they dont rout after my initial charge, they will slowly witter down my cavalry. Then i have no choice but pull out my cavalry and charge again. Then this bring to my first question again :/ What will happen if i let enemy nation's gentlemen stay in my school? will they steal my technology or something? I am thinking of burning my schools and universities as i cannot keep my people happy even i dont collect tax from them. Garrisoning more soldiers is breaking my budget =.= |

QUOTE(frags @ Feb 27 2010, 06:10 PM) Charging line infantry with bayonets is fine. Just don't let them get into a slug fest. Charge and move them out. They will loose to what is essentially a spear. Charging into square is a bad idea. Revolution? so far i only got armed rebellion on isolated city. I blast them away with my 4 inch mortars then everything settles. Also after i upgraded some farms my ppl now hate me less. I guess i can still hold on to my absolute power. I also notice some of my advisers are contributing to the reformation. Its time to fire them.Enemy gentlemen can steal technology. You research to a certain point people will want a revolution. Education does that I suppose. You can't avoid it. You could choose to pick aside when the revolution starts. Win the revolution and your population will be happier. But you play as rebels, very small army. So it's a tough fight. Im not sure how the carcass shot works? it says that it burns stuff but i dont see it? And what's the outcome if i finish a short/long/prestige/world domination campaign? |
