Mine reached at 75% after 29 months of usage, but i am planning to sell my phone then upgrade to another new iphone.

if you were me, would you bothered to change the battery first before selling, or just selling as it is.

For me i will change the battery, change battery and the phone is good to use for another 2 years with the original performance.

Probably i will change by the time iphone 16 is out laugh.gif

i stay put first to see iphone 15 if got major upgrade then i will consider change my current phone, otherwise send for service then wait for iphone 16.

but actually now still can use lah, just the battery drop a little bit fast, but got charger at home/office/car, so dont need to worry much also

I’m happy to report that I managed to get the battery changed at Switch Seremban 2. My eSIM is also intact because I got to choose to keep my eSIM before deletion. Phone took a while (30-40 minutes) to restore to get into the main screen, it’s still restoring now as I’m typing here.

However, the experience of changing this battery wasn’t exactly smooth. The young lady who attended to my phone at first refused my battery replacement service because it hasn’t dropped below 80? She said must be at least 79%. Mine was at 81% and she said Apple won’t allow because it still didn’t appear the notice to ask me to get it replaced. sweat.gif I told her my phone has been stuck at 81% for months and in order to drop to 79% I probably need another one year. shakehead.gif

Then, I told her I am going for a vacation soon so I need to ensure it’s working well and I don’t need to bring a power bank wherever I go. She reluctantly asked me to run the diagnostic test and said if my phone failed the test then she will proceed with the battery replacement.

While waiting for the test to complete, he asked his another colleague to attend to me instead. Maybe I was really difficult to deal with but I swear I haven’t raised my voice yet. laugh.gif This young guy is superb and he immediately agreed to my request and helped me with everything. Unfortunately, my screen protector was also removed before can send in for fixing. I collected my phone 3 hours later. thumbup.gif

Almost 6 months since I changed my battery and it is still at 100%. I still use my phone quite extensively and I believe it will drop to below 100% soon.

Wonder what's the lifespan of an iPhone, I didn't really check how long have I been using my 12PM but felt very short. Just check the battery health now is 83% and I think it should last another 2 years or so.

This time round the 15 is really perfect in every aspect i want it to be (Except the cost but it's understandable) although the improve over my existing 12PM based on my daily needs really minimal so i'll let it pass. It's a nice experience coming from Android. I really love Apple's ecosystem and don't think i'll look into Android flagship phone.

Mine is not good on 12PM, this is my second battery and after using it for a year, it is 87% now.
But again, in these 6 months I have been using my phone extensively, recording videos etc. So, it is understandable.

However, I will place order for 15PM tonight.

that really depends on your usage though, even the battery percentage shows below 85 if it can last you for the entire day then should be fine, as long still in the list for ios update 🙊

Just sharing battery change experience for my iphone 12promax. Was at 75% capacity. Went to change battery thought would be quick. Upon getting my phone while still in the AASP tested to setup but Faceid failed after battery change.
They proceed to check and restore system again still fail. Endup they send back to apple and when i got back my phone, just left the screen and the camera is old. They rest they change everything new for me.
Thats the good thing going to AASP

If youre selling then no dont change the battery. Changing the batery wont nett you rm380 extra from selling unless you really really want to benefit the new owner then by all means.

Also 75% is still perfectly usable.

one generation of iPhone can technically last for 6 years (or even 8) if you are not keen on adopting new technologies. as long as Apple continue providing software updates to it, you are good.

i have been using my iPhone 12 Pro for 3 years now and the battery has been stuck at 84% since like about a year ago (and that is a good thing) because i remember i was struck with anxiety when it dropped from 100% to 88% within a year and somehow the percentage did not dwindle after an iOS update. even so, a full charge in the morning and medium-heavy usage throughout the day will still land me at 50% when I am back home in the evening so that is very very usable to me.

Apple products generally have a learning curve but once you are past that, it becomes very user friendly but i have got to say, iOS 17 really messed up that whole experience.

Spare phone 12pm battery showed “service”, found a shop at MyTown to change “original” battery for $250 a month back. Everything done in less than an hour and phone shows no error or unknown part notification. Warranty 6 mths.
