hahaha it depends. a couple of people have heard and loved the beyer T1 pairing with my tiny tube. you may or may not like it but the important thing is just to meet together and chat about our audio journey, which is why i enjoy hosting meets.

QUOTE(C-Note @ Nov 14 2011, 01:39 AM) DT770 is different from DT880. DT880 used to be beyer's flagship till the T1 came out. Even the DT990 isn't as good as the DT880 when it boils down to neutrality and musicality. My friend who has a Hifiman HE-6 and desktop setup kept his DT880 32ohm and sold his T1 and HD650+Symphonica...go figure if your friend is who i think he is, he sold the T5p actually, not the T1. coz his T5p didn't stand a chance against my T1. I'd recommend getting the DT880. Save up a lil and get a proper amp in the future Added on November 14, 2011, 8:32 am QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Nov 14 2011, 02:12 AM) I see, DT990 better for bassheads? i personally would say get your player first. then try and see if it can power the 250ohms DT770/DT880, depending on your preference. if its possible, then get the 250ohms while funding for your amp. the 250ohms will allow you to scale more later with an amp rather than the 32ohms.Let's say I'm not gonna use it with an amp, which should I choose? Will it still produce good sound when paired with the Sony player? (sorry for all the questions btw, i'm a newbie) I have a friend who runs his DT880/600 directly out from his macbook pro while funding for an amp for 6months. QUOTE(C-Note @ Nov 14 2011, 09:29 AM) Hahaha oh yeah..the T5p. But i think he's gonna sell the T1 soon too...hifiman poison is enough xD he doesn't have a T1. heheoh yeah btw i'll try to bank in the money to you today...you should be able to get it by this week The TTD is absolutely perfect for the DT880. But I find it abit sensitive to dirty power...and there's this occasional 'pop' sound that is barely audible when listening to music. Is that normal? c-note, would you mind posting your question on the TTD in the audiohub question thread in my signature? i'll answer you there. although i think its about time we have a TTD thread here in LYN. |

it depends on your taste. if you like bass, the dt770 would be better. dt880 is brighter and more neutral than dt770 & dt990.
for many reasons, i would say uber muzik tiny tube is a very good match with the dt880. This post has been edited by hongrui: Nov 15 2011, 10:25 AM |

i listen to music ranging from metal to opera to orchestral to rock, pop and electronic on my DT880. to me, it has sufficient bass.
but again sufficient for me may or may not mean that you'd find it sufficient. you can add bass or use tubes, ultimately, it depends on your personal preference. |

its very hard for me to say they are okay or not okay because my personal preference may not be inline with your preference.
to me, dt880 is okay with most if not all of the current pop artists but again, because my amp is tuned to my preference, so they are definitely ok. |

no idea, as i'm not a fan of Fiio products. Tried their amps sometime ago and i feel that there are better alternatives to them.

Each to his own poison. some prefer ATs, some swear by Beyers while others will die for Senns.

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Nov 17 2011, 12:58 PM) Btw, I'm still suprised over the bass of the DT880. I thought it was as weak as those headphone that focuses too much on detail, but it's just perfect. The clarity is there also, the thing that was lacking with my old TMA-1 i think the bass of the DT880 is one of its most unrecognized factors. its "bass light" compared to something like the denon D7000, but when the music calls for it, the bass is definitely there. and it is the clean tight bass with no leakage, instead of the boomier bass of other cans. its bass quantity may not be as much as others, but for the DT880, its all about bass quality. QUOTE(opethbleed555 @ Nov 17 2011, 01:03 PM) just waiting for the right bargain and money. its going to be the headphones to end all headphones (for a few years at least) well, that's what i told myself too. but it lasted me for about a year before i moved up |
