hehe enjoy your DT880. i'll let you know when the NOS tubes for the TTD arrive in KL. can almost guarantee you a upgrade in sound. heh heh at least nobody so far has complained.

1. get the 80ohms version. 2. get the 250ohms, try with your soundcard, decide later if you want to sell the DT770 or buy a new sound card. if you have no plans to get a headphone amp or new soundcard, i would suggest just getting the 80ohms version. |

i think the D1 headphone out is SS, only if you use the tube out then you'll make use of the tube buffer stage.

no bass boost.
the tubes that i am using for TTD cost about RM70 although i've just ordered two which costs about RM150 each. |

@FaezFarhan, like what aztio said, each tube has its own signature, so it depends on what kind of sound and signature 'improvement' that you are looking for.
me personally i like warm and lush tubes, so i pair my T1 and TTD with tubes from Brimar, Mullard or GE/Sylvania. however i've gotten tubes telefunken and amperex this time just to roll and see what kind of sound they give me. |
