hey guys, it seems dat i use little country tube amp in jaben with 250/600 dt880pro, play secrets by one republice, sounds fat n slow , the slam n impact is there but the speed just fat n slow zz.. so i guess solid state?
*
different tube amps will sound differently with the tubes making a difference too. Best thing you can do is to borrow a dt880 home to pair with your dark voice to try first.

anyhows, d dt880/600 do require alot burn in eh baru betul keluar the bass? or both u have to burn in + run it with amp dat cn juice it well
*
bass will tighten up with run in, my experience is 500hours. And you definitely need an amp power it otherwise the bass is still gonna be bloated

long long time ago, when i was auditioning the little dot and darkvoice amps, i feel that the darkvoice amp is just slightly warmer and slower compared to LD.

if you want a cheaper tweak, then just change tubes. not sure what tube the darkvoice is using but you should be able to get NOS amperex or telefunkens for the amp. after that then change IC and/or powercord, harmonix will only improve on soundstage and dynamics, it won't speed up the sound.

hmmmm 600 or 250... anyhows. iz buying a dac wud help in refining or driving them? despite having a darkvoice?
*
a good dac will not help in driving, it is always the amp driving the headphones. basically a DAC controls the soundstaging, positioning/imaging, details and refinement. an amp will just drive the cans, thus mostly affecting the actual signature (the highs-mids-low), PRaT, that you hear.

however because the signal still has to pass through the amp's circuitry, soundstaging etc are still somewhat affected by the amp, but to a much lesser degree compared to a DAC.

Okay, there is notch/level indicator but, really, no locking mechanism? Imagine this (Or heck, you are already doing it), you have to adjust the the headband every single time you take the headphone off your head.
And what's with the flimsy and loose headband slider anyway

Please tell me that I am doing something wrong here, I would really like to believe that.

For a Rm1000+ Headphone, lacking such a simple and essential mechanism, I cannot help but to be disappointed.

Then again, that's just my opinion. Honest one no less.
*
i'm probably the biggest beyer fan here and i agree with you that there's a need to adjust the headband almost everytime i take it off, but only if i hang up the headphones. if i leave them lying on my bed or on my table, there's no such need, probably, to adjust. but i tend to fuss around every time i put on my headphones to get the exact fit and positioning, so there's not much difference.

could it be better? yep, most definitely. but having tried all the current top tier headphones, i don't think i will forgo my T1 and use a HD800 just because of the need for headband adjustments, as the sonic presentation is more important to me.

i have an AT-AD300 and i think the automatic adjustable 'wings' design is more tiresome than the beyer's headbands, but you don't see me bashing the cans in the AT appreciation thread.rolleyes.gif

If that is to be true, hongrui do you actually smack/slamdunk your headphone to the hanger? lol
*
i'm quite sure i do not smack my T1 onto the hanger. and the funny thing is, after hanging for sometime, my headband contracts. i usually wear my T1 and dt880 with 3 'holes' exposed and after hanging, i'll find that the band contracts to 1-2 'holes' only and i will have to slide the band out slightly before wearing again.

1. Portable
2. Yes
3. Detail, Transparent & Warm (a little too greedy)
4. Maybe around 1.5k

Thanks bro! notworthy.gif

not in any order of preference:
ibasso D10/D12 (you probably have to swap the opamps from stock to get the warmness)
rudistor linearossa W3
centrance DACport (takes usb input only. transportable, but not portable)
uber muzik Tiny Tube DAC (tube amp, needs power supply. transportable)
nuforce uDAC2 (usb powered, transportable)

'somewhat' out of your budget but i feel is totally worth the price: pico amp/dac.

there should/could be more that i have missed, but these are the ones that i can recall off the top of my head, prices should also be somewhere around your budge too. have fun auditioning them!

or to make things slightly easier, do you already have got any amp/dac in mind?

hehehe once you've experience the DT880/600 on a tube amp, its hard to look back.

there's only 2 ways forward after the dt880/600 for you:
1. up to the current flagships - lcd2, HD800 or T1.
2. join akabane's woody club but you won't get this kind of dt880 clarity

erm T5p is slightly more than a 2 DT880s combined. with the price he's getting for the DT880s, i think he can get 4 of them before hitting the price of a second hand DT880.

smile.gif thnx , the 32ohm is hard to pair up i heard,

32ohms can pair with portable amps like O2, cMoy, mini^3, depending on your taste. pico, RSA series of amps works too.
