beyer's are built like a tank so it probably won't give problems for a long time. Besides it's bought from jaben so getting warranty would be pretty easy.

Proud owner of the DT440 here. I was auditioning the SR80i, MS1 and DT440 and I really like the DT440 the best among this three. It really suits my kind of music (Mostly those lively ones, like rock and live performance of pop music).

However still feel that my PSC805 soundcard or MP3 player do not provide sufficient power to drive the DT440. Anyone here got any suggestion of a good earphone pairing? Budget around RM500+ , prefer portable ones but desktop ones can be considered if the improvements are significant.

tried (with DT770 pro).. its my favourite among all the amps on jaben's table yesterday .. but its around RM700 .. and i dont wanna hear that name for a while coz i missed a bargain @ garage sales (RM200 for it )

yeah... i donno if its my setup not pro enough or what, but i feel DT440 hold its stand to K702 very well... and for like 1/3 its price. definitely a piece of gem overshadowed by the AT fanbois raving about AD700s.

Actually I was very close to get the AD700s. In fact I auditioned initially the SR80, MS1i,DT440,AD700s and one Sennheiser which i forgot the model number. I narrowed down to DT440 and MS1i. I usually depend on reviews when getting headphone but I decided to trust my ears and go for the DT440 despite almost nobody here talking about it.

I think everyone is different.

Btw what amp did you pair with your DT440 last time?

i paired it with iphone LOD + secret amp, then moved on to travagans white DAC/Amp, which I also used with my K702 now. on the latter, I think I only noticed the soundstage to be quite different, other aspects 440 and 702 are quite close. maybe detail lose a bit, but deffy not much!

I think DT440 can keep u happy for a long time liao and yeah, trust own ears are best

Edge Amps will definitely fixed ur problem

but its a desktop amp n slightly higher than ur budget

Any recommendation for Balanced Desktop AMP ?? Tube or SS are both welcomed...

I see, AudioGD Compass or the Maverick Audio may be? I heard the CrossRoads Edge doesn't drive 600ohms can very well.

Both of them dont have balanced output...

Inevitably today I went to Jaben to audition for a amp to power up my DT440. What started to be a quest for a simple RM500 amp has turned into me now saving for a RM1.5k amp....damn...

I fell in love with the Linearossa K3 amp. It brings all my music to life.

And then I plug in the Beyerdynamic A1 amp....bad move....thank god the price tag was waaaay high enough to tempt me from getting it.

yea.. A1 was crazy bright and filled with distortions (did it with my DT770) hehehe.. crossroad edge is the ultimate poison of mine still... luckily those high end ones didnt tempt me as bad..
