They are taking orders in the outlets? When will the item be available?

So my MBP is now in its box, waiting to be brought back to Melaka to be used as my family's media player. I'm not even going to sell it off, because it's unfair to buy an Intel Mac when the M1's are available. The thing runs hotter, and is for some reason, feels less smooth compared to my baseline MBA.

Like it's hard to explain but the entire experience off the fanless MBA is, just snappier than the MBP 16", especially once you get it going with a few tasks. When I say few, I mean, typically I run;

1. Thinkorswim
2. Stock news sites
3. YouTube on one monitor to keep an eye on the market movement
4. An Excel sheet to record my trades

That's literally all I do 90% of the time, and the MBP will run at 70-80C and the fans become quite audible. I just don't understand why but the M1 MBA does not do this.
Also at 70-80C, you cannot use the MBP on your lap. I do this thing where I hinge the tip of the MBP on my thigh while majority of the laptop is dangling off. It's quite a circus worthy of Russian circus standards if you ask me.

At this point, unless you NEED the Intel's, I think there's really no good reason to even bother with Intel Macs in my unwarranted opinion.

Also I can’t imagine how powerful on the next 16” with apple chips...

I’m waiting for 14’ redesign. Those bezel on the current macbook 13” is so not 2020

The more the merrier? Not sure about that but just in case if I may need more than 2 ports then it's there...never use a MB before so don't really know

Was actually in a dilemma about the 2 ports as well. As usually, I have a few items plugged in at 1 time.

- SSD While Video Editing
- External Microphone
- CaptureCard for Camera

Now the 4th I'm guessing is for Power. However, I just ordered my Pro anyway because I think dongles would come in handy then.

Alamak bodohnya today I walk in Switch, they say CTO order (customized order) not yet available. (padahal the Switch Facebook in charge replied confirm got)

Nope. They can only assist you order from their desktop, might as well you order from their shops online

ah don’t worry. Switch on Facebook and at the store level never sync one, kena many many times already. I just stop buying from them anymore.

What I did was get a contact of the store person, so I straight alias with him to contact me the moment CTO order is open.

He says CTO order will open when those base model stock reaches Switch outlet (near christmas)

Update: Just ordered on apple website for 16GB ram 512GB ssd, too lazy to wait haha! Expecting to get it on 24th Dec to 1st Jan.

Out of curiosity. Why didn’t you want to order online in the first place?
