Surprised that i still saw a number of peoples in my company using iPhone 6 & 7, that really made me doubt whether it's true that the phone really can last that long. The only issue they have right now is that Apple no longer support iPhone 6 or older phone, so they also planning to change.  cool2.gif  None of my android phone can last that long, started to lag after 3 years

I'm still on iPhone 6.

Then why some iPhone user brags apple support 5 years of iOS
*
Probably because it only started to lag after 5 years ? Prior to upgrading to iOS 14 it was still okay.

iOS 14 is nice but it has its issues, particularly for a relatively new iPhone such as the iPhone XS. iPhone XS is my first iPhone that did not give me battery problem, that was until i upgraded to iOS 14. Overall battery performance is still okay but it wasn't as good as it was. Last time it can last me one day, like from 10AM to late evening around 9PM or so with lots of picture taking and video filming. Luckily i don't play game though.

Probably asked a few time already .

Im completely new to the apple ecosystem , maybe its time for me to jump ship.

Im not sure whether i should just get the 12 or 12 pro . The differences are quite small , i mean aside for the camera , other differences are discernable.

a rm 800 price difference is a lot. I could get myself an air pod pro .

So is the 12 pro worth it ? or should i just settle for a normal 12.

I suggest you try the cheaper iPhone 12 first since you mentioned this is your first time to try iOS. That's what i did. I was torn between Pixel 5 and iPhone 12 but since I came from Pixel 4, I'd rather try something different this time around.

I'm still testing the waters when it comes to software. There are some hiccups here and there. I feel iOS isn't quite polished as I expected it to be BUT that's not to say that I don't like it. I'm giving it a try and see if this phone will make me stick to iOS.

I only had the time to read back the last few pages (busy shopping for 11.11 tongue.gif), I thought maybe just 1-2 of us are switching from Android to iPhone for the first time, looks like I was wrong. laugh.gif

I have been using Android since 2012 and before that was on BlackBerry, to me there's no perfect phone, it's how you manage your expectation to fit into the reality.

iPhone 12 Pro Max will be my first iPhone and I'm really looking forward to it. I used to dislike iPhone thinking it is an overpriced device (it's still expensive for me lol) and I just can't justify the price. I'm a female and almost all the ladies that I know are using iPhone. I am a geeky person and I always think iPhone is just too simple for me. I do have an iPad by the way and have been using it since the first iPad. However, around 2014 I stopped doing fancy things for my phone, no more rooting and customizing ROM and I wanted a simpler phone with decent camera, so that year I thought of switching to iPhone 6, I bought a 6 Plus but eventually sold it off as sealed unit with profit. Didn't have the chance to use it. I continued sticking to Android and have changed a few models over the years.

Then, this year due to pandemic all of us are forced to stay at home and I tend to use a lot of Instagram. I realised a lot of my friends take nice photos for their stories and they are all using iPhone! I told myself, this year no matter what I have to change to iPhone. Later when the new iPhone was announced, I was sold by the look and its amazing camera.

Done deal, I'm here today waiting for my first iPhone to arrive on 13th (hopefully). I cannot guarantee I will like iOS as I feel Android still.gives me more freedom but I don't mind trying to experience it myself. That doesn't mean I'm ditching Android for good, I'm still having Android phone but will be demoted to be my spare phone and will still use it for things which require a lot of battery juice, like GPS.

Whether I will continue being in iOS camp or returning back to Android camp eventually, we shall see. laugh.gif

I thought I’d skip this year but looks like not. I might as well upgrade my devices while stuck at home.

I started iphone since iphone 4. From that till now, I bought 1-2 android flagship models such as S7 during its launching day but I like iphone more than those. I just dont have reasons but I like the simplicity of iphone menu and the mail app is so perfect to me. Since S7, i didnot buy any android phone. Stick with iPhone and upgrade every 1-2 years.

Stupid lazada still pack status
On 13th i plan hunt at outlets
If can get, I cancel LAZADA order

Feel very tempting as friend asking for my 11 ProMax already (promise sell to him)

Technically, their standard shipping is next day delivery and will shipped with LEX. There is like zero progress for a week but there is still hope if something changes today.

Apple may be very strict on their 13th date but I am sure they are not dumb to only start packaging on the 13th. As for batch or not what they are mostly out of stock since 8th so not much batch. Come on this is 50% Alibaba own wei laugh.gif

I use 2 phones since 2011 - one company and one personal, and I made a personal decision to always use 1 Android and 1 iPhone.

On Android, I used Samsung S2, S4, S6 Edge, Huawei Mate 9 Pro and lastly Samsung Note 9. On iOS, I used iPhone 4, 5, 6 Plus, X and now I'm buying the 12 Pro Max.

Now, my phone usage has changed throughout the years, from playing a lot of games, to just use it mainly for email, messages and web browsing.

As a user for both ecosystems, I find that I am now deeply entrenched within the Apple Ecosystem. The mantra of "it just works" really is true for me - especially when 90% of my family are using the iPhone as well where we can easily share family packages to enjoy Apple services. This has in turn relegated my use of the Note 9 to only for official business use, and I use my Iphone X to do anything else.

This "experiment" span of 10 years has finally come to an end with the coming iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I will now use a single phone for both my business and personal use case.

Yeah, my mum is still using an iPhone 5S and it's lagging like crazy, but bear in mind the phone has only 1GB of RAM and for a 2013 phone to be still usable today is a testament of the longevity of Apple products. While that phone no longer receives the latest and greatest updates, Apple still provides critical security updates from time to time - even up to today.

as stated by attw; manage your expectation well, then you may like it. for me, i guess i was too much overestimate it last year when making transition to iOS. for 2020/2021, just wanna give a shot using bigger iPhone then let's see future either will soldier on with iOS or back to android  icon_idea.gif

Hahaha, yeah, I get worried reading people's expectations of the iPhone especially if they are coming from the Android camp. While I don't keep my Android phones for long, I do buy and try a lot of them, and the Android or today is far different from the Android of say 5 years ago. It's every bit as fluid as iOS, manufacturers made up for the shortcomings of poor memory management by giving you more RAM in a phone than a computer server and addressing unusual battery drain by giving you huge batteries. That's not how Apple operates though so it's good to be able to distinguish the different approaches.

I updated my 6S to iOS 14 as well. Err, it's not really that bad based on light to moderate usage but it is showing signs of ageing. Battery life is poor but that could be due to the battery degradation rather than the OS laugh.gif

myself also a hardcore apple fans. STABILITY and SIMPLE to use is one of the key features make me stick with apple (ya, i am using iphone since 1st generation, i only skip 3gs due to the ugly fatty design, and also 8) . another key factor, is the solid quality provided by apple, the made of iphone is outshine others.

i also a mix user before conclude into apple....i started with Nokia, Window mobile (O2 mini/atom) , blackberry, Android i did tried a few...after all, i just love apple....most of iphone usage is 1 or 2 years, never have battery life issue, or hang..no at all...the one with me longest is 7+ which last me bout 4 years, and still running strong except for battery life..

that my experience with iphone....next, i wan to get a M1!!!

Hardly surprising, when you're running a test like that the phones with the smallest batteries die first laugh.gif

Yay, another old timer Windows Mobile kaki here! I had the Asus P565 and was tempted by the O2 Atom but waited and went for HTC Diamond instead. Never tried Blackberry but did have a Palm PDA before that. Nice to reminisce on the good old days!

I remember DOPOD back then. Used it for less than 1 year for business use. Battery life after enabling Exchange Activesync was TERRIBLE! Organization changed to Blackberry after that - miss those days when battery life was 2-3 days lol!

-edit- checked old emails, we were using DOPOD C730 and boy I got a long history of complaints on that phone lol!

I haven’t. I’ll drop by the resellers outlet to have a look at the iphones tomorrow. If they have the color I want, then just buy it. Else, I’ll just order from Apple online store which is my preferred choice. Not in a rush though.

Have you got your phones?
