Untung la those ETA 13 Nov. Mine 16/11 from  Store still preparing to ship.

My leather case shipped yesterday petang from Singapore. Then pusing to Shenzhen and now in Ho Chin MIn as we speak. Pelik but i guess that's how their global logistic system works.

My best hope is, iPhone will be shipped directly from SG and i might have a slight chance getting it tomorrow.

If its shipping from SG then i dont think it can be delivered tomorrow. I think the phones are already in MY and just waiting to be deployed.

Hmm, so if we don't want the battery health to drop, it's not advisable to charge on the go?

Probably because it only started to lag after 5 years ? Prior to upgrading to iOS 14 it was still okay.

iOS 14 is nice but it has its issues, particularly for a relatively new iPhone such as the iPhone XS. iPhone XS is my first iPhone that did not give me battery problem, that was until i upgraded to iOS 14. Overall battery performance is still okay but it wasn't as good as it was. Last time it can last me one day, like from 10AM to late evening around 9PM or so with lots of picture taking and video filming. Luckily i don't play game though.

Ic. Maybe if lot of users reported, apple can make a change. This is not the end of iOS 14 updates.

I only had the time to read back the last few pages (busy shopping for 11.11 tongue.gif), I thought maybe just 1-2 of us are switching from Android to iPhone for the first time, looks like I was wrong. laugh.gif

I have been using Android since 2012 and before that was on BlackBerry, to me there's no perfect phone, it's how you manage your expectation to fit into the reality.

iPhone 12 Pro Max will be my first iPhone and I'm really looking forward to it. I used to dislike iPhone thinking it is an overpriced device (it's still expensive for me lol) and I just can't justify the price. I'm a female and almost all the ladies that I know are using iPhone. I am a geeky person and I always think iPhone is just too simple for me. I do have an iPad by the way and have been using it since the first iPad. However, around 2014 I stopped doing fancy things for my phone, no more rooting and customizing ROM and I wanted a simpler phone with decent camera, so that year I thought of switching to iPhone 6, I bought a 6 Plus but eventually sold it off as sealed unit with profit. Didn't have the chance to use it. I continued sticking to Android and have changed a few models over the years.

Then, this year due to pandemic all of us are forced to stay at home and I tend to use a lot of Instagram. I realised a lot of my friends take nice photos for their stories and they are all using iPhone! I told myself, this year no matter what I have to change to iPhone. Later when the new iPhone was announced, I was sold by the look and its amazing camera.

Done deal, I'm here today waiting for my first iPhone to arrive on 13th (hopefully). I cannot guarantee I will like iOS as I feel Android still.gives me more freedom but I don't mind trying to experience it myself. That doesn't mean I'm ditching Android for good, I'm still having Android phone but will be demoted to be my spare phone and will still use it for things which require a lot of battery juice, like GPS.

Whether I will continue being in iOS camp or returning back to Android camp eventually, we shall see. laugh.gif

I started iphone since iphone 4. From that till now, I bought 1-2 android flagship models such as S7 during its launching day but I like iphone more than those. I just dont have reasons but I like the simplicity of iphone menu and the mail app is so perfect to me. Since S7, i didnot buy any android phone. Stick with iPhone and upgrade every 1-2 years.

You're right. I just want a phone that works. Custom here and there, if had time to do it it's ok. Example, I've used widgets in android back in 2012. It's terrible and never used it since.. haha

ordered from Apple MY store and the status is still "preparing to ship". Mine shows arrives 13/11/2020, i wonder if they can make it in time
*
Mine from Lazada even worst. Haven't even pack yet. But their page shows 13/11 onwards so I hope no mistake. I ordered mine on 6/11. If it changes today then I have no worry cause my house is just behind Ecart their warehouse there. unsure.gif

They have the same thickness when the ModNX adds the back plate. Even without the backplate the bumper has the same thickness to it

Don’t know about you guys but since I changed to 11 Pro Max last year, I never needed a powerbank.

In fact, my powerbank is the USB A type - then I thought, screw it not gonna use it. True enough, 1.2 years later still running a full day on a single charge especially traveling with Google Maps / music bluetooth / constant WhatsApp etc.

Such a beast - hopefully the 12 Pro Max will deliver the same.

ya dude, we are those era...we played LYN since those day...ATOM, Asus, DOPOD....

I remember DOPOD back then. Used it for less than 1 year for business use. Battery life after enabling Exchange Activesync was TERRIBLE! Organization changed to Blackberry after that - miss those days when battery life was 2-3 days lol!

-edit- checked old emails, we were using DOPOD C730 and boy I got a long history of complaints on that phone lol!
*
We have to stop recalling the good old days... making us sound old... Lots of the younger folks in the forum reading this going huh, Atom? Dopod? Apa tu? We sound like a bunch of uncles, hahaha...

QUOTE(ftan @ Nov 12 2020, 08:29 AM)
I haven’t. I’ll drop by the resellers outlet to have a look at the iphones tomorrow. If they have the color I want, then just buy it. Else, I’ll just order from Apple online store which is my preferred choice. Not in a rush though.

Have you got your phones?
*
No, collecting mine from maxis on Saturday. Fingers crossed they don't screw up. The entire pre-order was quite a fiasco if you kept up with the complaints in the maxis iPhone thread.

QUOTE(Lon3Rang3r00 @ Nov 12 2020, 08:44 AM)
Due to Covid-19, now everyone probably stuck in their city. In case i got the phone and never come back to this thread so i better ask now. What powerbank you guys used for travelling? I heard iPhone does support a number of PD Protocol that allow fast charging over Powerbank. My Oneplus 7 Pro still a hit or miss, but previously i carry the AC Adapter with me and plug in any outlet i can find for fast charging, if connect to a power bank (which i'm using Xiaomi 1st gen Powerbank) it probably will take hours and the power bank probably died first before my phone got fully charge haha
*
My biggest complaint on Covid is being unable to travel hence no photos to take, hahaha. Plus being stuck at home and just using WiFi means battery consumption is a bit artificial since it tends to consume juice on WiFi then it does on LTE. Oh well...

so either Apple is intentionally using inferior battery tech or purely based on $$$$$ driven to milk the cow. biggrin.gif laugh.gif
