I wanted to use it but the number of merchants available are far much lesser than those who use the 3 giant e-wallets.

E-wallet can still fund with credit cards.
DuitNow QR works like debit card; meaning you need to have money in your bank account that is associated for DuitNow QR. |

QUOTE(kaidin095 @ Oct 30 2020, 10:03 PM) Duitnow QR is a national project .. more banks and ewallet providers are in the pipelines to integrate with single QR code .. meaning you can pay the merchants with one QR code with either bank accounts or Ewallet Yes, Singapore has been using it - national QR payment systemHope the integration could move in a faster pace. QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Oct 30 2020, 10:02 PM) E-wallet can still fund with credit cards. Eventually they would allow credit card to link with DuitNow QR. the idea is to compete with e-wallets, if banks don’t provide this option, would be cannibalized by e-wallet playersDuitNow QR works like debit card; meaning you need to have money in your bank account that is associated for DuitNow QR. |

And about the merchants, actually you may use other banks Scan to Pay QR function to pay Maybank QR Pay merchants. They haven’t done the rebranding but they are under DuitNow QR now. I’ve tried it a few times |

Unfortunately that DuitNow QR doesn't support Payment QR.
This mean that we are still limited to use a few ewallet which supported by merchant This post has been edited by lowkelvin: Dec 8 2020, 06:45 PM |

Fund in your CASA account, is able to transfer to any bank and any DuitNow QR merchant. I think the logic is simple ... "You cant move money from a credit card thought DuitNow QR to a CASA account" When you understand this simple rule then you will get it alexwsk liked this post

Fund in your CASA account, is able to transfer to any bank and any DuitNow QR merchant. I think the logic is simple ... "You cant move money from a credit card thought DuitNow QR to a CASA account" When you understand this simple rule then you will get it |

DuitNow QR: When will Boost, Grab and Touch 'n Go eWallet support Malaysia's unified QR code?
GrabPay Below is the official statement from a Grab spokesperson: QUOTE As a homegrown tech enabler, we introduced GrabPay to provide consumers with a safe, convenient and seamless digital payments experience allowing them to pay for services on the Grab app and in-stores (payments to merchants). We are constantly innovating and exploring strategic collaborations with like-minded partners and the government to drive digital payment usage. This includes our successful collaboration with the government in the e-Tunai and ePENJANA initiatives that have furthered the adoption of digital payments in Malaysia. However with the pandemic and various movement control, we had to focus our immediate efforts in supporting our merchant-partners to digitalise, while continuing to serve consumers who depended on Grab services since the first MCO last year. We are continuously working toprovide our merchants and users with the convenience and access to our robust ecosystem and services across our platform. Our strategy has always been focused on being hyperlocal and the planned DuitNow QR integration is still on track. We are working towards launching this soon and will announce when the system is fully up and running. Boost Boost, the eWallet by Axiata Digital, is still committed to the DuitNow QR initiative but with no live dates provided. When asked about their status, they have issued us the following statement: QUOTE Yes, we are definitely still supporting the national QR initiative. We are working very closely with PayNet towards ensuring we deliver the best possible interoperable digital payment experience for all users. We hope to go live soon, so please stay tuned for our launch announcement. Touch ‘n Go eWallet According to a spokesperson, Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s integration work has been fully completed. It added that the actual rollout will be done in phases and it will be announced accordingly. Touch ‘n Go had previously targetted to go live by July 2020 and it will also tap into DuitNow’s extensive ecosystem. Apart from making QR code payments, Touch ‘n Go eWallet users could soon perform instant fund transfers to other eWallets and bank accounts via the DuitNow network. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Feb 3 2021, 10:05 AM) nothing about bullshit if banks (which are known to be less IT savvy) can implement it at a much earlier timeline, these so-called fintech companies are just taking their own sweet time to implement thisit takes times to develop, test, verification, etc just because the public cannot accept the fact, doesnt mean their responses are bullshit |

Hi, I have just done a small amount (RM1) payment to my own DUITNOW QR (registered with MBB but incoming fund will go to my HLB current account).
Here is my findings: 1) TNG EWALLET : successful payment 2) BOOST : able to scan QRCODE but the payment process stuck when done verified with fingerprint (or PIN). I pressed BACK, and found payment was not done (balance not deducted). 3) SHOPEEPAY : able to scan (but I didn't proceed further, sorry) 4) GRABPAY : returned message "invalid code" This post has been edited by chemistry: Feb 27 2021, 01:21 AM |

Maybank is a step ahead from the others because it allows non-Maybank merchants to get a DuitNow QR code from them. chemistry liked this post

QUOTE(spyrr @ Feb 27 2021, 03:36 PM) For merchant, I guess it won't stay free forever. Banks will start charging once critical mass is reached. Mind share how did non-Maybank merchant get own Duitnow QR?Maybank is a step ahead from the others because it allows non-Maybank merchants to get a DuitNow QR code from them. |

Today, i tried to scan a merchant's Malaysia National DuitNow QR code with my TnG ewallet but it showed that a message that the code is not valid. Located below the QR code, it stated HL Bank.
I thought that DuitNow QR means any of the participating banks and ewallet can scan the QR code, no? |

QUOTE(jkngo2003 @ Apr 7 2021, 08:13 AM) only merchant qr can be scanned. i tried my own merchant qr code with shopeepay, boost, tng. all can go through. Sarawakpay will work on its network, you scan the merchant QR, it will be directed to Payment to merchant or Fund Transfer automatically.some merchant use personal qr code , so it not work. I believe it will be similar to Duitnow QR in the future (most likely next phase), Duitnow QR will automatically detect it is a payment to merchant or Fund Transfer to Bank/Wallet account. BTW I just found that a Boost merchant can now display a Duitnow QR (merchant), but I haven't tried if I can use TNG ewallet / Shopeepay to pay the Boost merchant via Duitnow. |

And it will go thru and show transaction is a “DuitNow” transaction. As long as the Duitnow QR code that the merchant display is the pink one then it means I can scan and pay with any ewallet/banks that already support DuitNow QR right? Does matter who the merchant partner is/ what "cover" or "frame" the QR code is in right? ![]() |

May i know about MERCHANT QRPAY.
1) Merchant QR is when user pay usingBoost, TnG, Shoppeee or Direct Bank to ur account/merchant bank account? Not to Boost account or other ewallet, right? 2) Do it any charge? 3) How to apply? Only Maybank have? LOL. NVM. I reading this now https://www.pbebank.com/Business-Banking/Ca...ent/PBe-QR.aspx https://www.pbebank.com/pbeqr/register/index The charge TnC got * star * Valid until 31 Dec 2022 This post has been edited by Wolgie: Apr 10 2021, 11:43 AM |

QUOTE(Wolgie @ Apr 10 2021, 11:30 AM) May i know about MERCHANT QRPAY. You can get the Duitnow QR (merchant) service from Maybank (Formerly Maybank QR Pay), CIMB, Public Bank, RHB, Boost. If you choose Maybank, then you will get the money from Maybank, regardless the customers are using Boost, Grabpay, TNG, ShopeePay, so you don't have to deal with so many ewallet operators. If I am not wrong, there are some sign-up campaigns, can win prizes every month. Hehe.1) Merchant QR is when user pay usingBoost, TnG, Shoppeee or Direct Bank to ur account/merchant bank account? QUOTE(arlim @ Apr 10 2021, 04:01 PM) why specific to "duitnow QR"?DNQR is just a medium/method of fund usage. afaik, IRB doesnt actively track everyone for ewallet or banking usage. the financial regulation lies with BNM to its members (FI or banks) with due diligence in reporting of activities conducted by their business, eg Suspicious Transaction Report (STR), etc. |

Many people who are using online banking app still have not activated their DUITNOW. It's not convenient for me to teach them especially banking issue.
Often times my customers end up using the old method ie. Login -> Instant Transfer -> Fill in recipient account number & amount -> TAC -> Approve . This post has been edited by chemistry: Apr 15 2021, 01:30 AM |

DuitNow QR works with those participating e-wallets scanning the pink DuitNow QR code

QUOTE(Maknusia @ Apr 14 2021, 03:56 PM) I think local ewallet is not fully onboarded yet. Yes banks had onboarded, but local ewallet, still work in progress The big eWallets (Grab, TnG, Boost) are all in DuitNow QR I believe. The link you have above shows the DuitNow instant transfer providers, and not DuitNow QR providers. To see the list of players for DuitNow QR, go here: https://www.duitnow.my/DuitNow-QR/index.htmlhttps://www.duitnow.my/ |

QUOTE(PoisonSoul @ May 12 2021, 09:01 AM) As long the QR shown is a DUITNOW QR, then you can ignore the banner that comes along with it. 1) DNQR + Grab banner = any eWallet support DNQR, yes. 2) DNQR + TnG banner = any eWallet support DNQR, yes. 3) QR + Grab banner = only Grab eWallet. 4) QR + TnG banner = only TnG eWallet. But one thing I found out i that, if the merchant displays DNQR but it’s their bank account(savings account), you will need to scan using your bank app. eWallets won’t be able to recognize that QR. Dumb me keep scanning the bank account’s DNQR on a eWallet but it kept on saying not recognized. QUOTE(chemistry @ May 12 2021, 07:37 PM) The original Boost (red label) and TnG (blue label) QR code is still valid. Just use the appropriate ewallet to scan it. Boost scan Boost, TnG scan TnG. The latest DuitNow QR (pink label) still has weakness. If the DNQR is provided by BANKS , most likely eWallet fail to detect it. If I'm not mistaken, only DNQR by MAE (register as merchant) can accept payment by ewallets successfully. GrabPay scan MAE DNQR, successful, NO POINTS EARNED. Boost scan MAE DNQR, successful, can get Boost Coins. TnG scan MAE DNQR, successful, as usual (no cashback) QUOTE(starry-starry @ May 29 2021, 02:04 PM) Mind elaborating abit more? Then came across in Grab somewhere it said reward points are given to Preferred Merchant with comes with a red (or pink) QR code. So i just wonder is this reason I do not get to earn any reward points? |

Launch of the Cross-Border QR Payment Linkage between Malaysia and Thailand
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Bank of Thailand (BOT) today launched a cross-border QR payment linkage between Malaysia and Thailand. Under this linkage, consumers and merchants in both countries will be able to make and receive instant cross-border QR code payments. The project that commenced in June 2020 will be completed in three phases. Today marks the completion of the first phase in linking the real-time retail payment systems of RPP/ DuitNow in Malaysia and PromptPay in Thailand1 . Under the first phase, users in Thailand are now able to use their mobile payment applications to scan DuitNow QR codes2 to make payment to merchants in Malaysia including for online cross-border e-commerce transactions. This service is expected to benefit more users in both countries when international travel resumes, as they can make payment using their mobile payment applications instead of using cash. Under phase two, users in Malaysia will be able to use their mobile payment applications to scan Thai QR codes3 to make payment to merchants in Thailand. This phase is expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2021. The last phase of the linkage will be expanded to include cross-border remittance. Users in both countries will be able to make real-time fund transfers conveniently by referencing the mobile phone number of the recipient. This functionality is expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2022. This collaboration represents a key milestone in the ASEAN Payment Connectivity initiative that promotes financial integration in the region through increased efficiency, reduced costs and improved user experience for cross-border payments. The retail payment linkage will serve as an important enabler to support post-pandemic economic recovery by further strengthening economic ties between participating countries. Datuk Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, Deputy Governor of BNM, said on this occasion, “The retail payment linkage will enhance the efficiency and convenience of cross-border payments by providing users with faster, cheaper, and more inclusive payment arrangements. This will give more options for consumers and merchants in the cross-border payment space and serve as a key enabler to strengthen regional connectivity and financial integration.” In addition, Mr. Ronadol Numnonda, Deputy Governor of the BOT said, “The BOT recognises the significance of cross-border payment system linkages and has continuously pursued such initiatives. This connectivity builds on our domestic payment infrastructure which will facilitate cross-border retail payment activities between the two countries during and after the pandemic. More importantly, it will also facilitate the cross-border trade and e-commerce, thus contributing to economic growth and digitalisation.” CIMB Thai Bank and Public Bank Berhad are the first two banks that have participated in the linkage and started offering the instant cross-border QR code payment service to their customers. More payment service providers are expected to participate in offering such service, thus broadening the network of users and merchants. This project is made possible with the collaboration from various stakeholders from both countries. These include the Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) and the National ITMX (NITMX) as payment system operators, as well as banks in the CIMB Group as the settlement banks that are responsible for the settlement of cross-border transactions performed via the QR payment linkage between Malaysia and Thailand. You can do cross-border payment/transfer as well, from/to PromptPay Thailand and PayNow Singapore. But you cannot use credit card to top up ewallets then transfer the emoney to bank accounts. |

Then you need to open a merchant Duitnow account (any bank, TNG wallet, ShopeePay or Boost), just like the stalls at Kopitiam or Pasar Malam, or similar to having a credit card machine at your business outlet. |

After creating the account, you may link your existing account in order to receive payment. For my case, I link my HLB Current account, so whenever customer scan my MAE QR code, the payment instantly credited to HLB account. Hope this helps. https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...bank_qrpay.page This post has been edited by chemistry: Aug 29 2022, 10:09 PM |

QUOTE(joice11 @ Nov 13 2022, 03:18 PM) any idea for hong leong company/bussiness account is it should have duit now QR or they need register first? cause for personal acc, we can see our duit now QR code at the app. Because i want to pay maintainance fee, lazy to key in acc no, ask for QR code, the clerk seem no idea. Yes, HLB business account has Duitnow QR for you to make payment or receive payment.Open your HLB Connect app, you should see the menu at home page. |

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jul 10 2023, 09:27 PM) Thank you. Means safest option is still to install and sign up Touch N Go while holidaying in west M'sia. Can link TNG NFC Card to TNG wallet if you take public transport and pay toll and pay parking. You can now use TNG wallet at a lot of places in Kuching. You can buy TNG PIN at Lazada (5% weekend CB for Maybank M2 Amex Gold/Platinum) to top up TNG wallet, then use TNG wallet to spend, including Duitnow QR and TNG Wallet Visa Card (not TNG card). Eg you spend at Everrise/H&L/Farley on Monday, you get 5% savings (M2Amex weekend CB), even though it is not Sat/Sun, and Amex is not accepted at Everrise/H&L/Farley. Definitely need to buy for paying public transport. You can now use TNG wallet at a lot of places in Kuching. Didn't know TNG widely use in Kuching now, that's a good sign. |

You may buy TNG NFC Card at Lazada, RM10 + RM9.50 delivery to Kuching. TNG NFC Card Will expire in 7 years but no need to use once in 1 year like the old TNG card.Didn't know TNG widely use in Kuching now, that's a good sign. You can use TNG wallet to scan & pay at Duitnow QR merchant including the QR plate provided by Boost, Grabpay, MAE. YoungMan liked this post

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Nov 1 2023, 09:26 PM) Nope, each ewallet can only use its own merchant QR code, and the only way to cross use it is using DuitNow QR. So the pink QR Code for DuitNow can use any e-wallet? Include Lazada wallet? So if a merchant has Duitnow QR displayed, then you can use any ewallet to make payment. |

just wondering, are most pink duitnow qr code still not able to accept payment by bank app that opt for credit card as the payment method?
eg. using maybank MAE app, power up the payment scanner, choose credit card (instead of MAE wallet or saving account) as the payment channel noticed a lot of sellers/merchants displayed their pink qr code.. but my payment to them were mostly failed if i use bank app (+ credit card as payment method) to scan.. and of course, mostly success when i use any standalone ewallet (tng, boost, etc) instead |

Has anyone effected Duitnow QR payment using bank app linked to credit card account instead of the usual CASA method?
Say I only have a credit card with A Bank, and I use A Bank's app to scan the merchant's Duitnow QR to effect payment using the credit card as the (sole) source of funds. I read HSBC and CIMB have these in their FAQs. But I tried scanning a merchant's Duitnow QR to pay but was told I didn't have the necessary account to pay using Duitnow QR function. |
