i did not experience any bug with wallpaper

i also did not experience the new sub menu layout
i had that initially but after restore, it was restored to the menu style prior to firmware update.

shutter sound is still there probably as a protection of privacy. wouldnt want you to take pictures of anyone anywhere without them knowing eh?

i use nokia original theme

strange...they are separate for mine
its in the root after i restore

the folders i mean.

Anyone faced bugs with the new firmware??
I had one problem today

I had trouble accessing my sms today because of insufficient memory(a first since the firmware update)
I then pressed and hold the menu key. There's no other application but standby.

I somehow have doubts.
I opened my task manager, I saw, phonebook, logs, etc
the free memory with all these applications on is 23mb

I kill these applications and managed to access my sms.

anyone else faced this?


my conclusion is
1) the nokia ori task menu is not that accurate
2) a bug might cause the phone not to open certain apps due to insufficient ram when in fact, it is not insufficient.

go see the backup file

is it by the hundred mb or?

no idea how to extract it other than using content copier

at least i know its not something to do with my earlier failed update

if you did, copy your latest content in your memory card to a certain directory in your pc. then restore the 1st backup you made.
after restoring it, copy and overwrite the data from the directory you created in your pc to your phone memory card.

your asia maps n word database shld be there

if you didnt do a backup, you can downoad the word database from nokia asia website.

as for asia maps i don't know where you can download.


alternatively, you could get someone who has made a backup when they first bought the n95 and send it over to ya.


ONLY if all methods fail then pm me. i'll help you figure out a solution if i can and when i have the time.

it should not be erased.

assuming the info you refer is the info in the backup file created by content copier.

the only thing you'll be missing is AsiaMaps. I do not know where can you download it independantly but if you can find someone to supply you with their backup then that would be great. If you 'really' can't find then just pm me and we shall see.

DHCP server just couldnt negotiate.

which firmware are you using?

i had the trouble of having a cool down period like the one you experienced occasionally with the previous firmware. However, the current firmware apparently fixed it as I have yet to experience it.
