Hold your horses! Wait till October as C716 was launched in Oct 2020.
Look for TCL site at Shopee for ”C725 coming soon…” Notice.

Expect price to move up as well as it’s competitors all moving up price range.

Guys, any of you experiencing dse with 65c716?

I'm thinking of getting this model over the Sony x80aj. But worried if the dse is very obvious.

I notice dse on hisense and samsung tvs are bad.

It depends on the bandwidth of the Dolby Atmos stream of your file. If it's 768 kpbs - 1.5 Mbps, it probably can. This is the bitrate for Dolby Digital Plus encoded with Atmos information that's typical from video streaming app. If the bitrate starts at 6 Mbps, that's Dolby TrueHD encoded with Atmos from BDs and that needs eARC.

If you have an Atmos receiver and you really want this TV, get a 4K android box and connect it to the receiver. That way the Android box have a direct connection to the receiver.

Afaik, even Chromecast with Google TV has the same Atmos support as the TV..
It can do DD+ Atmos not TrueHD Atmos..

Shield TV 2019 Pro will be the best option if you need all in one box for both official streaming & local playback with AFR..
Iinm, it is the only Google & Netfllix certified box with lossless audio support..

As of now, Prime Video app can deliver ATMOS from our TV to ATMOS sound bar/HT.

Yesterday I watch The Tomorrow War, it delivered ATMOS to my sound bar. Jack Ryan is another title that deliver Dolby Atmos right from our TV to sound bar/HT.

If you have Prime Video subscription, you can test it yourself.

If you are using Plex, https://forums.plex.tv/t/workaround-no-dts-...-tv-9/724288/12
