still in dilemma, thinking of the size of pro max, i love the spec of the pro max, but 6.7 inch seems very large, even the current 11 pro max 6.5 inch is too big for my hand. but like many says, 12 pro is just extra telephoto and lidar and extra 2gb ram. hmm.

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Oct 31 2020, 07:52 PM) I already bought my case and fast charging brick, thanks to some of the recommendationa here. Any recommendation for the screen protector from Shopee? I’m not looking for fancy type. Anything <RM50 and does the job is good enough for me. I bought Ugreen screen protector. Quite cheap though as for me, once it’s cracked etc I will just change a new onehttps://s.lazada.com.my/s.1M4Le https://shopee.com.my/product/64923440/4454...64-1604147955.9 This post has been edited by hvaly87: Oct 31 2020, 08:39 PM |

I remember reading someone said we need to pay RM300 deposit which I don’t feel like doing since I don’t want to be tied down to any specific shop. So i’m hoping pre order via online won’t need deposit. |

My experience on using 2 big phones. Bought Note 20 ultra when it was launched, as much as I love the phone for the s-pen and the awesome screen, using one handed is impossible , so for those times where your other hand is holding some stuffs or busy, you just can’t use the phone. You will need both hands. Same goes to my IPhone 11 Pro Max. Maybe I have small hands. So sometimes it’s kinda frustrating. Another disadvantage is it’s not pocket friendly at all, so you either have to hold it or put it in your handbag. Maybe I have small pockets too

For those who wish to pre order at shop need take note one things is if buy from switch machine mac city etc...u need to pay first only open the box of iphone and if any damage or problem of the phone, from experience they will ask u go claim warranty with service centre...and exchange a new unit
If u buy from apple store and any problem then u can request apple exchange for a new unit The different is service centre will change a new unit without box mean claim warranty, only phone to phone exchange...and call refurbished unit While the apple website normally will change a whole new unit with the box if u found a problem with your phone within 10 or 14 days. So need take note this... of course apple website cons is maybe slow received the new phone compare with shop and no promotion This post has been edited by show_stage: Oct 31 2020, 09:07 PM |

Both points pointed out by you are exactly the reasons why pro max is a big no no to me. Choose whichever suits you best but not with kiasu mentality. So no matter what people say I will stick to my 6.1” pro😝 |

I guess, best is for me to experience 11 pro max in the store and see how the one handed operations is. I use my phone one handed a lot. Pocket wise, i tried with s10+, it’s ok. But 12 pro max is larger than s10+. |

I noticed the general trend that guys using iPhone tend to go for the standard size iPhone (iPhone XS, 11 Pro and now 12 or 12 Pro) whilst many iPhone XS Max, 11 Pro Max and now 12 Pro Max users are girls. One expects more guys to use the larger iPhone since most guys have larger hands compared to girls, similar to how most professional piano players are guys but the trend for mobile phone is reversed. Since I spend a lot of my time on my iPhone, ideally I would prefer the iPhone with larger display - iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, as many had pointed out, the phone is simply too big and it won’t fit in our pocket, especially when you’re wearing a slim fit jeans. And this is a big problem because most guys don’t bring a bag with them all the time. So despite many guys may not struggle to operate iPhone 12 Pro Max using a single hand, many will still end up going for the iPhone 12 or 12 Pro. Carlo J, soitsuagain, and 3 others liked this post

Agree with you, but since i'm using a larger phone now i'm wondering if the extra battery worth the Rm400. I also curious to see how long a iphone 12 mini can last. One expects more guys to use the larger iPhone since most guys have larger hands compared to girls, similar to how most professional piano players are guys but the trend for mobile phone is reversed. QUOTE(baracudas @ Oct 31 2020, 07:47 PM) But when you recontract for new phone upgrade, do you pay for the new phone again or just 24 month telco plan without paying for phone? what does the the 'free upgrade' even mean. “free upgrade” just means you can “trade-in” your current phone in month 18 - month 24 for a new phone without “additional charges” (that’s why they can say it is free).Basically DiGi 365 plan is like this -> Phone price by DiGi is 4800 (24 months contract), 4800/24 = 200 per month (excluding phone plan, eg. DiGi Postpaid 80, so end up one month payment to DiGi is 200 + 80). So after Month 17, you have paid 200x17 which is 3400 for the current phone. Now you decide to “free upgrade” to a new phone (for simplicity sake, use back same price 4800). So, you “trade-in” your current phone for 1400 (because you already paid 3400 for the phone), and “free upgrade” to a new phone, and restart the process again. Why I use the term “trade-in”, because if you buy the phone on your own, after some time, you can sell off the phone yourself, and get yourself a new phone. So you decide on your own if DiGi’s “trade-in” price is worth it before proceeding with the “free upgrade”, otherwise it may be better to finish the 24 months and sell off the device by yourself. |

Probably can consider the 12 instead of the 12 Pro as well. The savings is substantial if you can forego the telephoto lens, LiDAR sensor and additional 2GB RAM.QUOTE(Netto Hikari @ Oct 31 2020, 08:44 PM) well, if u r still on ipx/11, can skip ip12. nothing much worth the upgrade or wait next yr to see if the 5g network is ready or not. I think if you're on 11 Pro or Pro Max, it makes sense to skip but from iPhone 11 to 12, some would argue just the screen itself is worth the upgrade QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Oct 31 2020, 10:18 PM) Agreed, when the 6 Plus first came out my wife said it was huge and she wouldn't want to use it, but after trying it now she wouldn't consider small screen phones anymore. For me the iPhone 12 size is probably just nice but it's a pity Apple couldn't squeeze a bigger battery into it. |
