Hello, few questions here...
Does anyone know that can we change the stock router to more powerful one or not?
Because I tried my own asus router but no internet connection, double confirm id and password is correct. (No vlan settings in wan setting page)

Yes you can. But you have to configure the correct vlan setting on the Asus router, otherwise the internet won't work. Maybe you can try to google on how to set vlan for the model of Asus router that you are using. The list of Digi vlan can be found here:

Thanks for the info.
But for the vlan, already tried 629 but same no connection....
Maybe I need to test all the vlan listed on that site???

Do you know which infra your digi fiber is using? if not, you can refer to the old router setting to confirm the VLAN used.

From the stock router, the vlan is 629.
But I don't get it why still no connection from the asus router, now I suspect the asus router is faulty, later will try my friend celcom fiber and see how its going.
Thank you~

Is it RT-AX53U?
That router has a bug where it cannot connect to PPPoE with the preloaded firmware, you will need to manually update with file then it'll work.

No, mine is older model ac1200g+.
Before it work fine with same settings, but after some complaint with digi and then change back to the stock router (ZTE one and later replace with ZYXEL), now my own asus router cannot connect to internet anymore.

Just to be sure:
1. Call up Digi to request the PPPOE username and password, in case they change it during the router replacement.
2. connect back the Zyxel router and try to check in the vlan setting, but if it is on TM infra then 629 is correct.
3. Reset the Asus router and set up again with the PPPOE credentials. Under profile try to choose custom and set the correct vlan.
Optional: try to check out this page, and see if your router has similar settings to set.

Hi sifus,

My unifi contract 100mbps will end soon and im currently using digi postpaid 90, so planning to migrate fibre to digi 500mbps.

My issue now is with the private ip supplement by digi. I torrent heavily and will this private ip hinder my needs?

Besides, my tv house also uses layar3 will this private ip cause problem in the future? And is digi still throttle during peak hour?

Finally, from my understanding tm will counter offer with 300mbps same price perpetual. And if so, is it better to stay stay with unifi 300mbps/50mbps(public ip) or migrate to digi 500mbps/100mbps(private ip)?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

i don't torrent, watch youtube, and mainly office/ipad leisure.
it should be ok right

1. You can still torrent with Digi fibre. Since I only use 100mbps, I can get almost full speed depend on seed. Don't know how far can it go with 500mbps.
2. As for private IP and Layar3, to get the hang of it, I suggest you use your mobile data to try and see if it affect any app on your Smart TV. I suppose there is no problem, but who knows.
3. Put the price factor aside, if item 2 works well then can consider migrate to save a bit.

i am guessing you never asked for public ip at tm unifi

that's the only differentiator between digi fibre and unifi.

Thank you for the second suggestion, just tried it with digi hotspot. Lol layar3 cant connect and when tried with tm boom it works. I guess im gonna try and transfer to maxis then use it to ugut tm to counter offer.
