Well the last standard tourny is still with Rav and Tsp block. The coming std will not have cards from Rav, especially those shock lands. So how the meta shifts is anyone's guess

Well, it's 1 starter plus 3 boosters (starter at 35, booster at 10 each, comse to about 65 bucks), plus you also get the pre-release card. Also you get 1 booster as long as you win at least 1 game. There will also be lucky draw throughout the game.

You can go register on the day itself, after 8am, before 9am, which is when the game starts.

If you get 4 wins, you get a T-shirt.

The worst is you have only 1 creature, when you try to champion it, and your opponent slaughter pact it, then you will have to sacrifice the creature with champion when he comes into play.

Sigh, TM Net's connection to MTGO is very bad. Always get disconnected. Kena a few times in draft already.

Well, can't really recall what I got in the 4 sessions of pre-release, but I know I didn't open any of the planeswalker in the 4 sessions, and I sold my thoughtsieze for 45 bucks.

Manage a 3-1 in every session. Decent but not great. Can't beat those that only open 1 or 2 of their 3 boosters and still made 4-0.

Hmm, my 1 lost in 4th session was against a similar deck too. My W/R kitkin/giant deck has no chance at all. Only bomb was a single Brion Stoutarm, which got Fodder Launched til kingdom come.

I went 3-1 in all my sessions, so that's 16, got 1 from lucky draw, so 17, traded my cryptic command for my last 2 boosters.

A turn is from the untap phase until the cleanup phase of a player. So it means you can play 1 spell on your turn, 1 spell on your first opponent's turn, 1 spell on your second opponent's turn(for multiplayer) etc.

As for 2-headed giant, I suppose you can play 1 spell on you & your partner;s turn, since both of you share the turn, and 1 spell on your two opponent's share turn.

Not sure if I would make the trip down to KL or not. Most probably will not be able to attend GP Bangkok. Travelling to and back from KL cost my RM100 per round trip...... is it worth it??

yah, that was one of the hotels I was looking at. About RM80 per night I think.

Yeap, it's the room rate. Flight tickets is about RM550, the room for 3 nights ~RM250, then have to pay for food, transport, Cost for the GP, comes to more than RM1000, that and need to take at least 2 days leave, and have to figure out how to go to LCCT from Malacca.

Almost deck only mah. Didn't deck also.

Teachings normally only run academy ruins and Triseklavus to prevent yourself from decking. You no need gaea's blessing to recur your deck.

If you really want to, you might need to run some dredge mechanic (1x dredge land + 2x gaea's blessing), but seems very clunky though

Well, they do have storage land to pump in those extra mana, but yes, magus of the vineyard is a handful for control decks.

2 damnation, 2 voids. Better still, 3 damnations, 2 voids.

The 2x 2 sets block is only for this year, they doing it to test water. The justification is that they always have 4 sets a year, either it be unglue/unhinge/coldsnap/base set. Since this year no plan, so they went with 4 sets.

The standard is still base on 2 years basis, so when Lorwyn becomes legal, Rav block will rotate out. The draft will be Lorywn/Lorwyn/Lorwyn, until Morningtide comes out, then it is Lor/Lor/Mor. Then the next 2 sets block will release, and the standard will be Timespiral block, coldsnap, Lorwyn block, and this new set. Draft will be triple of the new set.

By the end of next year, when the Next block comes out, Coldsnap and Timespiral will rotate out and standard will be the 2 double set block plus the new block.

What this means is the small set of the 2 blocks will see less play in terms of limited. The 2 large set of the block will contribute more to the drafts as you will have 2 packs of it.

You will also have to adept to more chnages in drafts, as after morningtide and PT:KL, we will most probably a new set to draft with again.
