Ya you are right. Checked with the US supplier here and said that it need to use the transformer.
Now, does this pose a problem - i mean if i were to buy it from US and then use the step down transformer,
it will be just as good right ? or will there be a difference in sound quality or any other issues that i should be aware of?

Any input will be appreciated, as i am very much a newbie, as u can tell.

'read the realfact'??.. i am lost n dont know wat u mean.. anyway i am here for advice.. megatron r u saying the 30watt per channel extra from onkyo is irrelavant for my case?.. in that case i will go for yamaha..

Some people said adding step down transformer will add more noise to the signal. That's why some people buy those filter to reduce the noise.

i also wanna support onkyo but the price like that how to support unless buy from sg... actually i have taken taxi from jb to sg 5 times already for the past 3 months.. the custom nvr checked my bag ..not even once.. just dont know when will my next trip be nia..i tihnk at least another 2 months

I wonder if there's more chance to get away with it if you put it in a large suitcase and wheeled it by foot over the causeway, or perhaps go across by bus. I'm just thinking that the customs officers would discriminate against people using this mode of transport (ie. foot and bus) and make the assumption that they couldn't really afford to buy anything valuable anyway.
