you can cancel it immediately after approval or received the physical cards.

generally, grace period usually 6 months but subject to bank's approval discretion too. reapply too fast/desperate, they may not approve.

no 'burning' necessary, just delayed

very very tough to achieve 8k spending each month:

1) each contactless txn must be ≤250, as long as no pin entry.

you need to do at least (13x 250) + (1x + 83) to maximize 100 cb. the remaining can be others, like big ticket items, eg hospital bills

2) there is contactless limit of 3x before require reset via pin.

easier to just target 50 cb per month.
