Sorry but a bit out of topic for my question.
I know pbb works this way (paywave more than 250, but we insist on paywave, and then key in PIN), pbb will still capture this as paywave transaction, thus, 5% cb.
However, for the Affin Visa Signature, anyone knows that is it the paywave works as pbb “style”?
I just applied mine at Affin branch, the lady said “paywave, obviously it is without PIN, then if you key in PIN, it wont consider as paywave anymore”
She sounds “right” though? But i do hope someone who got the experience may share his/her evidence, i.e yup, paywave but key in PIN, monthly statement still capture for the 3% paywave cb.
as long as entry mode = paywave/wave/contactless, then it's recognized as paywave transaction.
however, treatment by each bank is different:
1) pbb cards: wave-then-pin, still recognized as wave entry and eligible for cashback. i.e. pbb dont care about PIN entry.
2) affin cards: wave-then-pin, still recognized as wave entry but it has secondary rule to determine PIN entry, which will not be eligible for cashback if got PIN entry.
