In simple words, having 2 big duopoly is still better than 1 big monopoly.

From all these network signal issues, it sounds like iPhone users are screwed/ F&@#*ed as Android users can lock it permanently to LTE only which is what I am doing

Only U Mobile has 3G here in Kota Bharu (somewhere near Lotus's/Tesco)

Seems like 502 158 is (I think) more towards nationwide 2G roaming... I see mix of Celcom/Maxis/Digi frequencies in CellMapper

I also see complains from those three telcos (roaming on 502158)

17 December - Only U Mobile has 3G now. The big 3 has shut down their 3G network. (Digi has shut down their 3G network yesterday on an unknown time).

DNB is the right way to deal with the 700 MHz block. This is too small to slice up for each telco. 700 MHz gives bigger cells and better building penetration, good for rural broadband coverage and tin roof houses.

For 5G, maximum bandwidth for 700MHz (n28) is 30MHz per block. Total available bandwidth for n28 is 2x45MHz.

If Yes 4G continues to "secretly" uses 2x5MHz on B20 800MHz band, that means the total usable bandwidth for 700MHz band will be up to 2x40MHz only.
So does it that means:

2x30MHz = DNB
2x10MHz = Consortium of the big 4 telcos? (Maxis, Celcom+Digi, U Mobile)

or

2x20MHz = DNB
2x20MHz = DNB

or

2x__ MHz = DNB
2x__ MHz = Consortium of the big 4 telcos? (Maxis, Celcom+Digi, U Mobile)

Just my two-cents. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

I dont know if DNB to be the single wholesale 5G network operator is a good idea,
but I think DNB to be the single wholesale for 2G should be a good idea ...

1. Reduce cost for MNO to maintain 2G network, as we only use 2G network for calling
2. Recall bandwidth hold by multiple telco so that those bandwidth can be use as 4G, MNO can focus on 4G network
3. Nobody will complain DNB monopoly on 5G network
4. IOT / TNB Smart meter can easily get wholesale agreement
