wonder why they so afraid to criticise. western reviewers slumber only say things like unacceptable and explain comprehensively why its bad.

there was this nordic reviewer that test hilux moose test years ago and it failed and it went viral like millions of views, end up toyota fixed the issue quickly and sent them the updated car to test again to prove its worth. this is how things are improved
*
actually westerner is even worst in these kind of shit puke.gif puke.gif
u can hardly see they criticize car , even when the car is clearly ugly (read all hyundai n mers new car )
still they say its a very nice design bla bla bla

as for those testing
car manufacture dont update all one believe me rclxm9.gif

even the steel use to manufacture the car
in our own city 980mpa is the max

the previous gen Honda jazz having the mostly same body design have a high content of 1480mpa
but clearly malaysian version dont get this but still score 5 star nonetheless

same case in other country where accord downgrade from 1480mpa to 980mpa still get 5 star Ncap
and when the honda create another twin accord, they further downscale the design to 780mpa yet still 5 star Ncap
but fail gao gao in the 25% test as that test was not legally needed brows.gif

Just wanna chip in. Msia auto reviewers are not that impartial. The bigger boys, in order to get invited to events, tends to filter their speech. Only the smaller players (that go out their own way to rent car) can be more impartial. So during launch, dun trust what reviewers say. Especially those that managed to get the car during media preview. They often are not encouraged to say the bad parts of the car. Those who do, will not be invited to next event. So to get a more accurate assessment of Car X, is to go listen review on Car Y, if the reviewer make a comparison against Car X, that is the only review about Car X that you can trust. Because that time they need to care about Manufacturer Y. so they likely will give more honest feedback about Manufacturer X. It's sad, but that's the reality of auto world in Malaysia. And another thing about reviews, is they often talk about features at that time, they are unable to tell you about the premature failure of certain parts, since they only test the car when it is new. Only users can share the overall owner experience. These info can only be found in FB/LYN forums.

Not really
currently igXragX and BoXbX n his team is not on good term with honda malaysia
so u can see their review toward honda can be say as hostile most of the time

but when it come to their favorite car manufacturer , sweet talk gao gao

and the biggest player of event is PT now

can see how they jilat x50 butt wei , so hardworking into promoting bruce.gif

actually i kinda disgree with this because there are a few reviewer that i know that stay in PJ/KL area and they would take perodua cars for days to do review, drive around and live with it kinda thing. to me la at least, after drive few years in own city/town i will sort of know where the roads are bad or good, and where it is a good place to test the car nvh or something. So if i am a car reviewer i will definitely drive around these parts and take note of the noise insulation differences, and compare to the real world effects vs other cars.

to be honest its quite hard to miss out that perodua cars have bad nvh and ride (unless totally dont know like me a few years ago haha), its a well known consensus and i am sure them being in car circles would have heard alot of it as well.
*
TBH they drive tens or hundred car in a year
they cant possible remember all the car feel
a side by side comparison is a better way but it could be a very complicated

it can effect due to :
1) The brand the reviewer like
2) who sponsor the video
3) who provide the car for them to test

Yup its very clear they cut corners where they can, and take full advantage of developing markets and their lax laws compared to developed markets.

Sad but true reality

actually talking about safety i notice here in malaysia everyone like to comment (reviewers and commenters alike) that safety is based on things like airbag count etc etc, thats why people keep saying toyota now good cause 7 airbag but honda city/x50 only 4 airbag on base models.

but then, if you watch back that yaris/vios ncap test their a pillar actually bend from impact, and in my mind car structure is even more important that airbag per say, after all if crash structure doesnt hold intact no airbag can save you.

Yes, that how reviewer and manufacturer push the safety tagline
but really anything can be manipulate one
even the steel MPA thing , Hight tensile steel is good , but thickness play a big role, nissan once reported 1250mpa vs 980mpa steel ,
just increase 15% thickness on 980mpa, they could take same impact as 1250mpa doh.gif so its more of a weight cut and cost cut nowadays rather than safety
especially when they claimed the % high mpa steel increase alot but crash test result still the same one mega_shok.gif

i stop my friend getting an vios by showing him the vios Ncap video saying u think the 7 airbags got use mou icon_idea.gif

glad someone else actually feels the same as me, iGxragX and BoXbX actually quite biased towards Honda, any small thing also can attack but other brands they just sweep the obvious weaknesses under the carpet.

Anyway, just did my first service today. I am surprised they didn't schedule for an oil change and I am more surprised the default out-of-factory oil is actually mineral. Can the mineral oil last until 6 months/5000km? hmm.gif

most of the time they do... else add another layer for foam or insulation material on top of that fender liner, or go KL Auto pasang QuietDrive if you have the moolah... brows.gif
