For me unfortunately i wont go anything lower than the RS. So got to sulk it up and pay the extra for 2021. On the bright side, at least the car is year 2021. Maybe a better resale value.
*
dont forget that there is a new way of calculation for CKD cars as well, suppose to take effect in 2020, but after backlash PH postponed the implementation to 2021. currently, PN gov never said anything on this yet.

so as it stands, will have SST back and new CKD calculation, can expect increase alot more

yes , that what worry me...

stick with V until i see the actual car first  bangwall.gif
*
yup, i would argue that because of the 2 layer impending price increase, it might be worth it to just take a car, any car, at any spec as long as its this year. if im not mistaken the 2 layer increase will be quite alot, SST itself also can be a few thousand, then new CKD calculation can also be another few thousand. im not surprised if b segment cars increase by about 5k next year sad.gif

IF the V come with honda sensing , i wont not think twice to get V  devil.gif  devil.gif

but too bad honda reserve it for RS and RS cannot get by 2020  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

5~10k is expected i think
*
Its definitely an intentional thing by them, I bet they dont want to put honda sensing for V cause they want to reserve it for the face-lift in a few years so that can say got new features to lower spec models haha

Just went to see the new City at Honda showroom, my friend noted that on the front passenger seat, the leg area seems to be flat, then suddenly goes up to a gradient that is quite high and quite uncomfortable. If the legs move back to the flat area then it will also equally get uncomfortable at the lumbar area after awhile, not sure why there's such an odd design. Tried is myself and it indeed feels like an unnatural position compare to other cars.

Also dont know why they put single tone alloy on V spec but dual tone on E, make the V spec look like the cheaper model lol

My guess is they make the car low but don't have enough space.  Lol
*
Haha. Damn the car is so long, when I first saw it it was looking like a borderline D segment length car!

Yes long but narrow wheelbase. Not sure how the ride. Have to test drive

The boot capacity also massive. Does the rear look out of poroportion or nornal?
*
Everything looks alright proportion wise to me, just that on the E spec I saw, the 15 inch wheels with Conti UC6 with those big side walls made the wheels look abit small for the car, abit like how Persona looks.

V has no issues on the other hand with those 16 inch Toyo proxys, but I can't get over how the single tone alloy design makes the entire car look so cheap lol

if you notice
S and E alloy wheel is exactly same design, just E with dual tone
V and RS alloy wheel is exactly same design, just RS with dual tone

p/s: can done the black tone outside sweat.gif then V will looks like RS
*
Hmm I didn't take note of that before this, if like that then its definitely not an issue then, since very easy to take out and make it dual tone huhu

what i wish for is a V spec with honda sensing

but honda just wanted to make life harder for everyone  bruce.gif  bruce.gif  bruce.gif
just when i can accept its only hybrid with honda sensing , honda say no car this year  ranting.gif  ranting.gif  ranting.gif , that why taking V now
*
they should have made it an add on, im sure people will be willing to pay extra for it, but i feel they purposely holding it back so that facelift they got things to update to it to make it more appealing, like CRV facelift just announce honda sensing only

if honda sensing just top up another 2~5k i would be fine  biggrin.gif
no la
CRV have Honda sensing when they launch few year ago
now they make lanewatch standard for all variant
*
Sorry I meant the lanewatch for the CRV.

Yeah I think many others would be fine with a premium top up like you suggested as well, they really should make car buying more customisable, like the beige interior, leather steering wheel, 15 or 16 inch wheel, should all be options for people to add if they want, cause I'm sure everyone has their own preferences on certain things.

Like for me E is best for me cause I want 15 inch and no lanewatch cause cost purposes, but would like leather wheel and beige interior instead.

cost and efficiency would be the main reason

the car is tailor made to customer choice would need to wait much longer to produce

some market do still have such customizable normal non luxury car.

the leather steering feel damn good onhand
*
i had a look at the leather steering wheel when i was at the showroom (someone else was in the car so couldnt touch it myself), it reminded me of a mercedes c class wheel, leather doesnt look half baked, looks like a proper leather wheel.

dont know how to explain fully, but it looks thick and fat instead of the usual cheaply wrapped ones thats usually in a or b segment cars biggrin.gif

If u are the boss of carmaker, u certainly wont do that.
*
im sure bosses wish they could make do without many things, but when theres a market for something they will definitely adapt to implement it

unfortunately there is next to no market here for customisable cars

Agree it's better than GM6. The doors do not feel as hollow as well.
*
What about the ride? Does it go through bumps as harshly as GM6? I'm highly considering this new city but I'm very particular with NVH & ride comfort after my experience owning perodua car lol, heard GM6 has bad NVH and ride and awaiting comments on latest gen before deciding

RM5,000 you can get more than that, I think V (if you got budget) and S (if want to save some money) are the only choice we can see here.

with RM5,000 you get Honda Lane Watch, Leather Seats, Leather steering, Leather Gear Knob, 2 extra air bags, Nice 9 LEDs per side Headlights and many more. I think those are worth more than RM5,000 there.

True..hmm

Now?

i yearn for the day Malaysia is a trailblazer and launch country for things.

Cars are always 1 year late compared to neighboring countries, consumer stuff like laptops, PS5 and phones are not released like first batch countries, even implementations of new technologies and ideas (EV, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Prime) never see the light of day.

Our country is so second rate its painful to see

QUOTE(icebryanchan @ Nov 25 2020, 09:15 AM)

I followed almost all the Malaysian Youtube channels that discuss about cars. ALL of them, are all saying the good of the X50 and good of the Almera only during their test drive and review.

*
this is what i dont like about our reviewers, they mostly focus on saying whats good rather than whats bad about a car, it makes it seem like the car does not have its issues.

this is how i kena sting with the Gen 3 Myvi, when it first came out everyone say damn good la so geng la, and to my untrained eye that time it does look great, such a step up from previous gen. So i bit the bullet and bought it as my first car.

then drive a few months and years only start to slowly notice the flaws, things like lack of noise insulation for wind and tyre, water splashing when raining loud like heck until i thought i accident when i first heard it, ride so stiff and hard until you go through the smallest bump also whole car sound like wanna fall apart (like come on my mom's 2003 Hyundai Matrix absorbs bumps better), small things like battery double in price cause of engine start stop system and wiper change to conti car style button wiper instead of hook wiper, and you cant find button wiper for myvi anywhere except at perodua which cost a bomb.

now with all this experience i looked back at all the videos and articles i saw and read that made me buy the myvi, my goodness they do not even inform properly on the severity of the deficiencies, even dare say noise is good and water splashing bearable, ride is good etc.

dont know if they are forced to say good things or what, but clearly they are not testing enough and explain things in a real world setting, who cares if the new myvi is 71db vs 73db in old myvi in the cabin when its unbearably loud going through federal highway everyday
