Vspec lunar silver here. Didn’t check in since it’s my wife’s car. smile.gif

Anyone started sourcing for screen protector for the car audio system?
*
Shopee already got one seller started selling, tempered glass @ RM55. The same seller is offering the FB Group member at 20% discount.

but IMO RM55 or RM44 (after discount) is still quite pricy. Maybe wait for more sellers to restock then the price might drop.

Also, tempered glass I heard from my SA is that when you park under sun quite often, the glue will melt and stick on your screen.

So I am now finding soft firm screen protector instead.

Reminds me of my Alza first batch... really tin kosong, the car so noisy, ppl started complaining to Perodua, later batches Perodua did up some soundproofing...
*
but generally:

1. it does way better than previous GM6 (30% I feel, and also according to the SA).

2. the noises only come from the tires, at high speed the wind noises and traffic noises is all fine to me.

My friend's Civic also, the noises coming from the tires when high speed cruising, I was surprised then, but now I accept that is Honda's "characteristics" tongue.gif

I only have my SIL's GM Hybrid to compare, and hers was relatively quiet though. Not sure if the "quietness" extends to the regular petrol GM6...
*
definitely cannot compare hybrids to petrol car, battery and electrical motor are the main characters there notworthy.gif

i booked on 6/10
late book and colour issue kut
if i take white, first week already can take car  bangwall.gif

white is the most booked one, if you take white color on 6/10, you might have to get it next year. (depend on how good is the Honda branch to get the stocks)

I booked red on 18th Oct, got my car on 27th Oct.

Although not much fancy free gift from SA, only around RM500++ cash discount + RM300 tinted voucher, but I am urgently needing the car and he did deliver quickly for me. He deserves all the commissions rclxms.gif rclxms.gif Happy with my SA

Jan 2020 no more tax waive, and RS comes with Honda Sensing, I believe it will be easily over RM100k

FC is never Proton's advantage, I used to own a Saga VVT 2017, full tank can only reach around 300-330km. But the driving experience is damn good, compared to Bezza of course

seems like the S & E not so laku...
Facebook group full of S & E ready stock..

SA told me usually E & V will have great sales during the beginning of launch, then order for S will come along.

But this time the E & V only RM5,000 difference and the things we get from V is much much better ( IMO worth more than RM5,000 itself). That's why V is pretty out of stock now.

The gap between E & V was larger (RM7,000) before revision, it was later then adjusted to smaller gap (RM5,000) now.

i used 70 mai pro for now. magnetic sticker included. easy to install and quite straight fwd. no need to open / tear anything really
*
I went for the cheaper variant, 70mai 1s, good enough for me and I dont like dashcam being too large.

The wiring hiding part I paid RM30 for workshop to help me, they didnt hide it in A pillar (which is good because airbag is inside A pillar), they just hide it into the rubber seal of the door. Then I just connect to the USB port for power, no kacau on circuit or warranty.

wonder if this E spec is worth taking over V spec..to me i can live without the leather seat and white interior but i only want that leather steering wheel from the V! sad.gif
*
RM5,000 you can get more than that, I think V (if you got budget) and S (if want to save some money) are the only choice we can see here.

with RM5,000 you get Honda Lane Watch, Leather Seats, Leather steering, Leather Gear Knob, 2 extra air bags, Nice 9 LEDs per side Headlights and many more. I think those are worth more than RM5,000 there.

Oh guys, remember when I complained about the noisy tires during high speed?

I wanted to pump the tires today because it has been around 2 weeks. Then I checked the pressure, WTF 41PSI per tire? It means it could be around 43PSI when I first got the car

Seriously HM? The sticker on the car tells 33PSI for front and 32PSI for the back only. No wonder the tires hard like stone. mad.gif mad.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

After releasing the pressure, now the car less bumpy and quieter. Anyone who got their cars please first thing is check the tire pressure.

But the leather material they use this time damn nice tho, remind me of those mercedes level quality. Wheel also is thicc with leather (dont know how to explain, this best explains it)
*
I think the leather they used in V spec steering is same as the New Accord one ( I can be wrong, I didn't test drive Accord but just sat inside play play while waiting to check out the City tongue.gif )

QUOTE(4EveRLonE @ Nov 15 2020, 01:06 PM)
Deal breaker factor mainly is the space and the rear seats of city, which much more comfortable for my parents when sitting on the back

I was comparing V spec and X50 flagship as these two are under my radar, I’ve test driven both twice. I’m quite like the features and all the ADAS packed in the x50 flagship, along with the 1.5 turbo which can make the driving much more spirited  brows.gif  and the all round disc brakes are good in stopping the car. X50 gives me an impression of “semi conti” car feels which is quite refreshing for me.

At this point, I probably sounds like I’m all in for the X50 and initially I almost make the call. But things changed after my numerous time of visiting the showroom (both Honda & Proton) and when I start to look on both cars in depth. I start off from looking around the things that I will touch and feel the most on my daily driving & usage which that’s where the city starts to feel more appealing to me

Some examples: (my personal opinion)
1. The interior door handle feels much more solid on city compare to X50 when pull
2. The leather on the door cards feels better and thicker than the ones than X50
3. The leather seats feels better quality than the ones in X50
4. The switches and knobs feels better than the ones in X50
5. Apple car play & android auto (once I tested on city, I can’t unseen it)
6. Speakers sounds better than the ones in X50
7. Feeling not too cramp when the car full on 5 adults compare to X50
8. The steering looks and feels on touch more appeal to my liking on city

Power delivery on city is decent although there is no turbocharger, power is quite ok for an 1.5 NA.

Coming from driving an GM6 for 5 years (and experienced from the infamous quality related issues), although current generation is not an revolutionary changes from GM6 but for me it have noticeable improvement over the GM6, overall build quality feels a bit more solid and better than GM6. Hope it will age better than my previous GM6. The regrettable part is that there are no Honda sensing..unless I go for RS IMMD

At the end of the day, choosing city over X50 in a way saves me 17K to relocate for other purpose and the NA DOHC will be hassle free to deal with as it is a simple & tested mechanism
*
People love to compare X50 Flagship vs City V but they always forget their price difference. Differing by RM18,000, City V price/value is still very competitive.

X50 Flagship 1.5T engine 0-100kmph is 9.9s (tested) while City V 1.5NA engine 0-100kmph is 10.4s (tested). It is pretty impressive for a NA engine. Those who said new GN2 engine is underpowered can go ____ themselves (many comments on FB) doh.gif

I now only realize Honda has a lot of haters when I read through the comments in Facebook. Some even said New Almera more powerful than City confused.gif confused.gif confused.gif confused.gif

I think Honda City gets less spotlight is because Honda didn't do much advertisement, compared to Nissan and Proton. All the videos about X50 and Almera has been all over in Youtube but City test drive + full review is none so far. Why Honda doesn't give those Youtubers the car to test out first? Really bad marketing there

im driving preve now (c segment car). thinking to switch to this new honda city (B segment).

how does the width of new city rear sit? can it fit 3 adults comfortably for long journey?
*
C-segment car definitely has wider back passenger seats. But I think City is good enough for 3 adults for long journey, if they don't mind their arms touching each other.

If 2 big guys + 1 skinny girl should be totally fine ( well touching girl's arm I also don't mind brows.gif brows.gif ) , 3 big guys will surely have touching on the arms.

thanks. what car u change from c to b?
ya. i choose preve 8 years ago due to cheapest C segment. cannot get any C segment at less than 80K anymore now. so sad.....
ya preve is much wider compare to current city and previous city. but i still want to hear others opinion. hehehe. my rear passenger is my family and we are all fat.  biggrin.gif
thanks. looks like i will not choose this new city as my new car as my rear passenger will complaint later.

out of topic. please recommend me value for money c segment. (budget less than 100K. less than 90 k is much better) my nearly 9 years preve is still good but the punch cvt whine is too much that i feel of lettting this car go. thinking to get this new city but used to c segment already. haahhaha
*
If back passenger seats are your first priority, I think C segments car can be Civic and Altis, I am not sure about korean cars though.

Maybe u can go showroom see the new Almera? People say it has very wide back passenger space
