I always thought the SA commission earnings is around RM2k to RM3k, so the more they give you the rebates, the less they earn. but rebating RM4k for a whole new car? that's new to me

QUOTE(heihei @ Nov 18 2020, 01:47 PM)
believe or not , honda actually being targeted by a group of cybertrooper specially hired to tarnish their reputation
their employer is unknown but mostly likely is the P brand which currently hired alot of cybertrooper to defend their new shinny drink fuel like no tomorrow car

so whatever on facebook , especially comment by those no profile picture one just ignore them

Almera behave like a diesel car to be honest , it have pool of torque throwing to your face when on low speed but the ability of acceleration is close to 0
if you drove any pickup before you will understand what im talking about , a 2.4 hilux feel plenty powerful while driving , but in actual fact , it can only do 0-100 in 14second ... but when u drive it you wont feel the car slow because the torque keep pushing
yup the door handle for this gen city is really solid

maintenance on x50 is really questionable and spare part availability is another major concern, as of today, some service center unable to service x50 due to lack of parts...  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
test-drove the Almera the other day, yes you are right about the 3cylinder turbo engine. From 0-80kmph is pretty impressive, but after 80kmph, I want to top up to 120kmph, I can really feel it is having difficult time already.

For super jammed city drive, it is probably more than enough. but if you want to overtake cars at highway, you probably need a lot of room to do it with confidence.

Just a reminder for those waiting for RS.

Never buy hybrid for its fuel saving property. The battery change after 8 years will cover back all the fuel u saved over 8 years.

Buy hybrid car for its quiet cabin, smooth acceleration and the low RPM torque.

My SA did tell me that RS is actually ready for launch. It's just that the pricing is not approved. Perhaps the pricing is too competitive that they want to give way to X50 first?
*
no, it is a hybrid, Honda needs time to nego with the government on the hybrid subsidies and the tax. But for sure Honda would like to sell the same price as X50 Flagship or no more than RM105k to remain competitive.

For me, any price cheaper than Civic 1.8 is a good price for it

I suppose I will go on with asking for bank's offer now first,

hoping the RS wont exceed 100k and there will be SST exemption extension next year hmm lol

may extend the loan if needed, looking to see if could test drive the RS first before proceeding
*
definitely over RM100k, else it will break the market and everyone will be rushing to buy RS tongue.gif

QUOTE(calebong @ Nov 23 2020, 08:37 AM)
among the WHITE, RED, STEELMETALIC city RS, which color do you guys think is the best?
*
White or Red only, Steel is a special color that will give a matured feel, not sporty feel at all

QUOTE(duperam @ Nov 25 2020, 08:14 AM)
Anybody knows why there seem to be so much hatred towards Honda in FB/paulinetan page? Honda is that bad?
*
that is what I observed too.

Take it this way,
The more people buying a certain brand, the higher chance a defect will be brought up and discussed.
Then because one car of out thousands has one particular problem, those haters will magnify it and say "all honda cars are like that".

Also, not to mention I realize some of the Honda haters are actually Nissan's SA dry.gif dry.gif
Nissan cannot sell, then SA too free, go attack Honda on online meda rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Keep in mind that, in 1000 cars, 999 cars without problem but the owners will not post in Facebook saying "wow my new car so good no problem"
but that 1 car owner that kena problem, will post big big in Facebook, then other people will think "wow this Honda is GG already, unreliable at all"

In addition,
I realize Honda Malaysia doesn't do advertisement as aggressive as its competitors, compared to Proton ( X50 ) and Nissan ( Almera ).
I followed almost all the Malaysian Youtube channels that discuss about cars. ALL of them, are all saying the good of the X50 and good of the Almera only during their test drive and review.

Until I actually go to showroom and test drive the cars mentioned, I actually found a lot of obvious bad sides that they didn't even bother to mention.

Somemore, none of the famous Youtubers or Youtube media get to test drive and review the New City 2020 until date ( 25th Nov 2020 morning ), except Nazz ( so far the most detailed review ) and Anthony ( who did a POV only ). Honda Malaysia doesn't realize the importance of the Youtubers and online media nowadays? Spamming Youtube ads or newspaper ads will not help much in 2020.

QUOTE(ParkBoGum @ Nov 25 2020, 11:15 AM)
So what are the bad sides you’ve found on X50 and Almera?
*
X50
Small passenger seats, great for couples but definitely not a great ride for your elderly.
Very small trunk space (but ALL youtubers saying it is big lah, it is ok lah bla bla bla )
The 360 camera is quite blur ( none of the youtubers mentioned this ).
GKUI of its radio doesn't support android auto or apply carplay, even the mirror link is so fcked up where you have to keep your phone awake to mirror link it. So much for a 10 inch HU huh?

Almera
Acceleration from stop is great, due to its turbo. but after 80kmph it is struggling so much it is so obvious, but all the Youtubers kept saying "ok lah u drive in City, no need lah" but it is really underpowered, for a RM91k car, to me of course.
The so called "Sport mode" is actually just the overdrive button on the gear knob. No sport mode at all for the New Almera, but all Youtubers all saying it is the "Sport Mode" button.
Other than that I feel nothing much to complain about Almera really. tongue.gif
Love the zero gravity seats, love the reverse cam that the grid lines actually turns when you are turning your steering.

I am not saying City beats them all, but I hate the trend that those Youtubers trying to hide this and that or say something to compensate the obvious bad side of a car, due to the fear that they might not get to test drive the car in future or get invited to the official launch next time.

QUOTE(adriankan @ Nov 25 2020, 11:26 AM)
this is what i dont like about our reviewers, they mostly focus on saying whats good rather than whats bad about a car, it makes it seem like the car does not have its issues.

this is how i kena sting with the Gen 3 Myvi, when it first came out everyone say damn good la so geng la, and to my untrained eye that time it does look great, such a step up from previous gen. So i bit the bullet and bought it as my first car.

then drive a few months and years only start to slowly notice the flaws, things like lack of noise insulation for wind and tyre, water splashing when raining loud like heck until i thought i accident when i first heard it, ride so stiff and hard until you go through the smallest bump also whole car sound like wanna fall apart (like come on my mom's 2003 Hyundai Matrix absorbs bumps better), small things like battery double in price cause of engine start stop system and wiper change to conti car style button wiper instead of hook wiper, and you cant find button wiper for myvi anywhere except at perodua which cost a bomb.

now with all this experience i looked back at all the videos and articles i saw and read that made me buy the myvi, my goodness they do not even inform properly on the severity of the deficiencies, even dare say noise is good and water splashing bearable, ride is good etc.

dont know if they are forced to say good things or what, but clearly they are not testing enough and explain things in a real world setting, who cares if the new myvi is 71db vs 73db in old myvi in the cabin when its unbearably loud going through federal highway everyday
*
but your case about the noise, is understandable, because the reviewers didn't drive long enough like us to actually know the bad.

For example, the New City, I drive over water pond, the water hitting the fender noise is so damn loud, I wonder those youtubers who are going to test drive it will realize this. But again, like I said, they will need to test drive it during a raining day.

Not really
currently igXragX and BoXbX n his team is not on good term with honda malaysia
so u can see their review toward honda can be say as hostile most of the time

but when it come to their favorite car manufacturer , sweet talk gao gao

and the biggest player of event is PT now

can see how they jilat x50 butt wei , so hardworking into promoting  bruce.gif
*
glad someone else actually feels the same as me, iGxragX and BoXbX actually quite biased towards Honda, any small thing also can attack but other brands they just sweep the obvious weaknesses under the carpet.

Anyway, just did my first service today. I am surprised they didn't schedule for an oil change and I am more surprised the default out-of-factory oil is actually mineral. Can the mineral oil last until 6 months/5000km? hmm.gif

Hi all, do u guys know how to open this handle cover?

I told the SC got noise sometimes when driving over rocky roads or uphill, but they just opened up and tighten the nuts inside. But in facts is the plastic covers are hitting each other.
I was expecting the SC to put some sponge inside but meh, I can do some DIY as long as I dont break some clips inside the handle hahah

City's original screen is matte surface no...? Won't the glass protector introduces even more glare and more fingerprints...?
I'm getting my V-spec later today after 42 days of waiting... Why yours waited so long and which color you booked...?
*
Yes definitely will cause more fingerprint, but won't be as bad as smartphones because we don't touch the screen 24/7. I have a cloth in car so whenever I feel too much fingerprint on it then I will just wipe it off with ease.
So far I haven't reach a point where fingerprints are flooding the screen so it's ok, because I rarely touch the screen also except when starting car to press the acknowledgement.

White. I booked after lunching in okt. Why late? Maybe because the honda in my place only put my order in Nov. My sa said in mid Disember will arrived. Putting bodykit, maybe before Christmas will get
*
It is really depending on two factors when comes to ordering speed :
1. The size of the Dealer
2. The skill of the SA.

Bigger size dealers will be given priority to have the cars first during the launch because they usually order in big bulk (especially some super big dealers, they are ordering in hundreds because they had secured a lot of pre-orders) .

Then after the dealer secures a number of cars, the SA would have to fight ( fight to prepare all the required documents) among themselves in the dealership.
Whichever SA completes the documents first will get to deliver the car to his/her car first.

Sometimes SA is really good, but he/she has no choice because the bottleneck is at the dealer itself. Honda Malaysia doesn't give the priority to deliver to them first

Finally getting my V spec white tomorrow. Inspected the car few days ago to check the qc before registering

I just received the tempered glass for the head unit but wondering whether I should put in on after reading the comments about glue melting  shocking.gif

not using glue  hmm.gif

It always has glue, for all kind of tempered glass. You will feel the stickiness with your finger when u just peel of the tempered glass.

But whether the glue will melt or not, it is depending on the quality of the tempered glass. If you park your car under sun for long duration, just have the habit to use the sunshade. It is not only to protect the tempered glass, but also to protect your dashboard.

Reason I am using the tempered glass is because I scare the screen is made up of plastic, like the Nintendo Switch. Easily scratched and damage done cannot be repaired.
Anyone dares to try to scratch on the screen to check if it is glass or plastic? drool.gif drool.gif

Anyone using trapo or doo mat? I’m struggling to choose both. Dodomat seem trap the dust efficien, but i wonder the how long the velcro can last if u keep peel off the first layer to clean the dirt.
*
Bought trapo before for my saga, now buy again for my city. Trapo mat is great already comparing to the price and the easiness it provides. Of course if u wan the swagness to open up double layer to clean the sand and dust, for sure u can pay more price for it.

To me, Trapo itself is just great already
