Do you guys hear the cvt whine on your cars...? I can hear mine even with music blasting out loud...

On another note, the engine sounds too clatter-y for my taste, almost sounds like diesel clatter noise on idle... ph34r.gif

Side mirror spoilt too often under warranty, HM cannot afford replacement of that magnitude. One side cost over 500 bucks...

My Jazz side mirrors both spoilt outside of the 3-year warranty. Fix outside also headache have to find replacement parts. HM just change the entire mirror, hence the costly repairs...
*
what is the spoiled? the motor? but without motor still can use the hand right? Maybe I should play with the mirror folding less....

lost my car (BR-V) two months ago, now claiming for insurance, but the blardy GapZero mentioned to only compensate for buying the same make cars, so now i was waiting for the RS too, since insurance is est to wait until end of this year, V is not going to make it on time, let's see how long i needs to wait for my RS.
*
didn't know BR-V is a hot target for auto theft. how did u lose it?

drive more, let the ECU learn your foot, mine was jerking like almost engine dead, but no longer jerk after 500km.

yup. I am assuming the NVH and absorber they take from Daihatshu/Toyota that is based on Japanese roads because to be honest i drove the myvi on new or well maintained road condition and NVH and absorber was totally acceptable, just that our roads many are coarse and bumpy so its not suitable at all for our roads.

quite surprised at the lower part of the seat issue on X50 as well, I would feel that is one of the first few things to take note of ergonomics wise, they definitely placed alot of effort in the small details of this car so its surprising they missed out on that

didn't proton test this alot on long journey on highways as well? surprising the engineers didnt pick this up  sweat.gif

Hello, may I know what is the bluerish on the top of screen while using waze? First day I received a car.

And also we can't type on search while driving am I correct?
I'm using realme phone, it seems cannot control the waze via phone, only for typing the location. What about you guys?
*
1. bluerish is the waze app design.

2. driving with speed will block the keyboard input.

3. Android auto isn't meant to use the phone to control the Head Unit. Instead, everything is done within the Head Unit.

QUOTE(calebong @ Dec 12 2020, 08:10 PM)
by the way does anyone know whether would the new city rs requiring battery charging?

like charging at charging point etc
*
No, definitely not.

You are confused with Hybrid cars with Plug-in Hybrid cars.

Generally, most of Japanese Hybrid cars are sort of "automated". Whenever the battery drops below certain value, the petrol engine will kick in to start the generator to recharge the battery, AUTOMATICALLY. User no need to control the car to run in EV mode or petrol mode. User cannot plug in external socket to charge the battery. Examples are Honda and Toyota.

On the other hands, most of the western hybrid cars are using separated EV and petrol system, which they call it Plug-in Hybrids. This type of hybrid can switch the mode of the vehicle in order to run in FULL electric mode, allows user to plug in external sockets to charge it, whenever the battery is depleting, it will switch automatically to petrol mode. In petrol mode it will help to charge the battery up so that EV mode can be used again. Typical example is BMW.

More info for the latest hybrid system by Honda, the i-MMD.

Anyone realise that GN2 auto headlight very sensitive? Even slightly deem of daylight during evening also triggered headlight on.
*
you need to know how a light sensor works. In our human eyes maybe not that dark, because our pupils adjust the size to let more lights come in during dark time. But light sensors actually measure the strength of the light source and trigger the auto headlight accordingly.

I'm using original cable now. It still happened. Perhaps the ori cable not that good as well. What third party brand cable u guys using?
*
Best cable brand out there is the Aukey, the most expensive one, but totally worth the price. All kind of cables tend to degrade/damage after a period of usage, including the original cables.

Guys, sincerely need your advise.
I am looking for a car to get my parents as their current car (Persona, 1.6 Auto) is pretty old and its wearing out.

Was keen in getting them a Honda City 1.5S. Now I am aware that the booth space in the Persona is much bigger though the interior of the city fits 4 adults appropriately.

Now, I have owned other car brands and have never had a Honda before.

Mind sharing / enlightening me of any issues with the new City ? How reliable is the car plus any common issues ? Moreover, within the same price range, do you recommend us to go for the city or look for other car's model.
Spoke to an SA but obviously the SA is inclined to give out good reviews of the car.

I owned a VW before and the DSG was a night mare!
Thanks in advance
*
first of all what is your budget? if you are targetting 1.5S City I am assuming your budget is around 70k to 80k.

Trust me in that range, Honda City is the only one that has the biggest space, nothing else.

Reliability wise, Honda's engine and transmission faulty rate is very low. ( Not saying 0 but very low ) and can be considered as very reliable. Need not to worry about that .

Guys honda city oil filter need 20k per change.. so did they upgraded the oil filter or the car engine that make it no need change every 10k
*

I believe is something to do with the engine oil they use. The out-of-factory engine oil is only mineral oil and it can last 10k KM already

If aftermarket infotainment got one issue...will the screen fit perfectly like ori honda screen on the e and v spec?
if does not fit nicely on the dashboard, might have a small gap between the screen and the dash.
usually can we get back the exact screen size if we go outside workshop and install those android player?
*
I believe there will have a OEM casing to fit the 3rd party android player nicely

why you people dont take vios? vios come with ADAS from mid spec onward while city only has it on its highest spec
*
Ugly center dashboard, smaller space inside, no foot rest, useless arm rest, no telescopic steering.

For the Headunit, the USB for Apple Carplay and Android Auto is next to the Headunit, my cable will be hanging around so messy. City's design for it is so convenient and clean.

ADAS I don't reallly use, it is like a 1% usage to me. For AEB, IMO it is for those who are not paying enough attention when driving.

Depends on you like the kit or not, the kit is around RM2k, which means your car is around RM87k.
