Ouch.. that sounds bad. Then there will be SST liau next year.
Bad move if they plan to do so.
All will hop to X50

Yes, if it is the case..is a bad move and it puts me on dilemma as well.. sure the price will be much higher after SST kicks in

I've put booking on the city and X50 as well since it's refundable tongue.gif

It makes me harder to decide which car to proceed on..SA says they are expecting possible launching by earliest 15 Oct

Hope the launching come with the RS.
Otherwise no point to launch since they want ppl to buy their top model.
Doesnt make sense they dont produce RS first.

I'm thinking the same as well as the V spec are not so compelling compare to competitors

Think of the bright side, maybe my SA meant RS was sold out for this year allocation hence he say this year not available as I told him I want to get the car this year

SA didn't promise me a specific time frame on when will get the car, say would try to get within this year lol

I asked SA about the production volume on the remaining months as X50 was 4k - 8k max production volume , while almera was 2k for remaining months this year

he told me the production volume for the remaining months this year was about total 20K(all honda model lineup) and honda will focus more on production of the city on production line

Perhaps my expectation was too high after seeing the almera and x50 spec, thought that honda will step up it's game on the non-RS variant also to compete with them.

From what I can recall what it doesn't have are
1. No semi-digital instrument cluster (only analog - just like Thailand City SV variant)
2. No EPB, no brake hold
3. No dual tone alloy wheels, only single tone
4. No honda sensing or any form of ADAS (AEB etc)
5. Rear drum brakes (disc on RS)
6. Non adjustable rear headrest

I feel the car was a bit more solid compares to my 2015 honda city (body wise) and the seats are pretty "solid" feel as well

In my opinion, if compare to the previous generation city facelift V spec, there is only little improvement on this upcoming V spec (spec wise)

*forget to mention (there is lane watch camera)
*
1.5 comes with new engine. The new City comes with more welding points (increased chasis regidity), 6 layers of paint process. Better NVH. RS only available in 2021.

Thanks for the info. Would u still consider the V spec if the price is same as Almera VLT?

Nope ... My SA make it clear that there is no Rs being build in 2020
and worst thing is i ask if pricelocking applicable he say nope , honda might reveal pricing that u cant even get doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
then when 2021 come, sst come then honda might compensate with some service voucher ....

change booking to V after that
but still hurts as RS have honda sensing and V is basically a E spec now vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Also it's built on the existing platform. This car is not designed from ground up. The rear head rests cannot be adjusted which is bad for passengers. Better think carefully about getting the immd model. Look at the current City and Jazz's hybrid system. They just ditched them together with the gearbox in just one model cycle and came out with the immd system.

The irony is that all 3 variants of the Almera have ADAS=Honda Sensing. Light pressure turbo new engine and designed from ground up. Honda is basically empty in these aspects. Sigh....

Make no sense that they produce lower spec first when launching. Supposely they will wan to make RS first only the rest as RS is the most expensive one. Might be the immd having some problem and cannot launch?

Normal spec already in production line. Rs spec...
My sa said rs might have a smaller boot space to compensate the battery. Well, it's a hybrid after all

Nah , that system is completely diff as the engine act like generator more and only power the car on high speed only

Exactly what I am trying to say here but forgot to mention that the immd comes with 2 motors. Yes, it's still a hybrid!
