U need to change your ways of driving for turbo engine in case want to get good fc. Tips on the current fuel consumption figure when driving.

Turbo get good fc by smooth drive and constant speed highway
*
I think in city drive is better to assume the FC according to the engine output not the capacity,
say to achieve 250nm of torque, we may need a 2.5L Engine, let's assume it sip as much fuel as the 2.5L engine while enjoying roadtax of 1.5L
so you don't get too disappointed with it.

Great power comes great responsibilities.

how is the delivery so far for x50? is the queue still long?
*
Last year booking haven't fulfill all, if book now mostly I guess next year unless some game changer affecting the demand, so far Ativa doesn't seems compelling enough to shaken X50's demand significantly.

Hello
read someone posted only think of flagship or executive.. so wanna hear ur advise on below my requirement. which variant to go, if 10k is worth. I have test drive flagship.

not sure if tgdi makes any diff.. I m leaning towards premium because of the interior.

sunroof = unnecessary for me
acc icc = hope to have when jam
auto parking = unnecessary for me
keep lane warning =  very annoying
aeb = good to have
Blindspot = unnecessary for me
intelligent headlamp = unnecessary for me
duo tone exterior design = hope to have
*
To me it is either Exec or FS, if you want to save, might as well go for Exec with smaller RIM, cheaper price when due for replace.

FS have all the bells and whistles, most people can't shake off the feel of "I should have upgrade to FS" I bet no one have mindset of "I should have downgraded to Premium so I save 10k"

To me Premium is just about cosmetic changes and addition of 360 camera, take aside those fancy autopark & Autonomous driving,
Still only FS get u additional safety which turned on all the time.
-Lane Keep Assist
-Lane Departure warning
-Foward Collision Warning
-Emergency braking

stupid question here, so far what ur friends are looking at u when using this car ? they seem impress or not ? or just mehh.. geng honda city only..

hahaha just curious from the owner view on surrounding kolik, friends, relative ? ...

coz, i dont know , seem looking the car on the road.. doesnt seem to give the wow factor much...

maybe the exterior ... or proton logo issue...
*
Well I think this car well known to people that it cost 100k, not everyone can afford.
The rich don't buy Honda CRV/HRV as second car, but they probably would buy X50 as their second car.

And if compared with Ativa, X50 is a few notch up

Hi there, I just did 3M Crystalline CR20 for rear windows and rear windscreen and last night it looks good but borderline on cannot see. I think any below 20% is too dark and not safe.

For sunroof, usually shop will recommend you take "building tint" as it's cheaper and supposedly same heat rejection (I got quote for ~RM200). I went for 3M CR20 for the sunroof and paid RM500 for peace of mind (whole car 3M yay rclxms.gif).  So far, quite happy with the heat rejection but only day 2, so let's see.

Seen some ppl claim Blue mode more fuel consuming somehow probably feel underpower so stomp on the paddle more?

How's your FC so far with the blue? 8km-10km/l range?

Since we are in the topic of Fuel Consumption, I managed to get my x50 to return 6.7L/100km or Approx. (15km/L) with almost 98% Eco Blue Mode at 8000+ total Millage.

Also this is 100% Klang Valley city drive although there quite some months working/driving during MCO.
*
15km/l is very good, Axia I have driven few thousand KM before get me around 14-17km/l only for city mix highway drive in Puchong area.

Hi folks,

2.24% for Exec Variant, 84k loan 9 yrs from Affin Bank.

Is this a decent deal?
*
I get 2.23% similar loan amount for 7 years

According to SA anything below 2.5 considered good rate, also depending on your loan amount and term, higher loan + long term = lower rate. But also need to factor in your risk and capability.

Guys how much to only pay for the Power Boot without those accessories from Proton?

I got quoted 2.3k for just the power boot alone without utility/urban package and the car came with it so I can't say no.

I saw in Proton service center ~RM2.9k standalone. Not sure about if you do it outside.
*
Is the "Car came with Power Boot preinstalled" a false claim? plus my SA able to do with just 2.3k made me doubt if they installed this with 3rd party and forcing buyer to pay the premium for their margin. hmm.gif

Anyone do PPF protective film mine to share your brand, price and where you install?

I find Magnus Pro film seems overpriced, cost even more than respraying the whole car shocking.gif

I only set budget around <rm2k for ppf. Doesn't matter if it most expensive even, u need to take care of it, ie dont regularly put it under hot sun in order to prevent it from yellowish.

Else set money on repaint in future
*
Agree on this when ppf cost too much it is sort of pointless already.

Just leant that PPF will turn yellowish if regularly parked under hot sun, I do have that doubt earlier but seems it was indeed a problem, guess I'll just leave it bare and only do tinting probably from Irispro or 3M crystalline

QUOTE(sanakim @ Oct 26 2021, 08:18 PM)
I did PPF on headlamp with 3M Scotchgard. Price range ~RM500 for headlamp alone. Full car I got quote ~Rm16k so can forget it hahah.

For coating, endless debate. Personally I wasn't convinced and ended up not getting coating and instead committed to wash every 2-3 weeks and wax every 6 months.
*
16k better forget about it, even minor accident hurt you even more than it should..

Agree that frequent wash or just a simple Wash & Wax solution should keep the car look decent for long.

3M crystalline working great for me smile.gif Let me know if you looking for authorized applicator in northern region.

Yeah, I asked about PPF and was advised to do at: 1) headlamp, 2) door handles, 3) side mirror as those are the parts that typically get impacted. If you want to do front bonnet also can but not worth the cost.
*
I'm from KL area so not decided on this yet, also due to the fact that Crystalline would not work with Smart Tag and don't like a small cut without tint/with different tint, I held back a little on this.

BTW how long it takes from the date SA register your details with chasis number available until you get your car?

Can't guarantee for you in all KL tolls but when I tried smart tag at Penang 2nd bridge, it worked well. Anyhow, I got RFID to avoid any smart tag issue; also RFID costs RM25-35 vs RM150 for smart tag device LOL. Also with RFID, you can direct debit to TnG wallet instead of manual TnG card top-up. Just hope the toll has RFID lah.

For me, it was a few days (maybe 3-4 days)? After you get chassis number, you can pay the downpayment (for loan) then wait for car to reach showroom, then they do pre-delivery inspection (PDI) then they can give to you.

FYI, you can track the car from tanjong malim using proton link once you get chassis number and proton link activated.
*
Yeah made all payments, just checked proton link seems like at Tanjong Malim already, hope getting the car real soon rclxm9.gif

Or can throttle ur engine abit.
I am using crytalline without small cut.  It can work but got trick. Hv to move really slow almost to the stop. My case it will show no smart tag then after that ok already.

But best solution use rfid lah. Hopefully plus highway can implement it asap to all entry/exit point.
*
Too bad RFID not widely available KL yet, we get like only 1 RFID lane vs 3 Smart Tag lane for same toll booth and very often RFID lane is having longer queue than TnG.. Although RFID is the future, that being said like more than 3 years ago but I don't see any obvious transition sad.gif

A quick check where was the most ideal location for RFID sticker? Headlamp or Windscreen? Last time when I install on my car they tested windscreen not suitable because of tinted, wondering would Crystalline or any tinted will have that problem or not and end up install on headlamp hmm.gif

3M do have another series of tint that works well with smart tags, which is called the Ceramic IR, it has a blue-ish shade compared to Crystalline with a charcoal shade
TSER is quite good too but abit lower than Crystalline
*
Yeah notice that as well but the TSER and IRR seems a bit below par for its price, but of course this is 3M yo

QUOTE(alternativehype @ Oct 27 2021, 02:21 PM)
I've got different experience. I find RFID lane shorter queue & fast to clear than Smart Tag & TnGo lanes. Love the convenience of auto top up & e-wallet gaining more acceptability with business retailers, wet markets, etc.

Only highways with close toll systems belum implement RFID, namely PLUS & LPT. LEKAS closed system already implemented RFID

Mine is stuck on headlight. Now I want to polish my headlight but wondering how to retain the RFID tag. Put tape over it cukup? hmm.gif
*
My toll usage mostly at LDP most of them RFID got long queue sweat.gif
My TnG card is also linked to tng e-wallet with paydirect, as long the toll support paydirect it will deduct from e-wallet instead of card icon_rolleyes.gif

That's the problem on headlight installation.. if not mistaken once sticker removed from headlight it is either not usable anymore or not sticky anymore, that's my previous experience with RFID tag on headlamp, warranty change headlamp but sticker can't carry over..

Not to say Windscreen will be safer, if say one day windscreen crack you will also face same problem rclxub.gif

On the bright side the sticker not too expensive la

QUOTE(phernut @ Oct 27 2021, 02:24 PM)
or you can just open the window and stick your smart tag out for best chance to pass the toll in one go XD
*
Most of the time should work well, but you know sometimes when tangan feels like kaki that time, maybe the smart tag could fell on the ground rclxub.gif
