How about spare part issue? I saw from article they said facing spare part shortage

read the above comments, it doesn't just happen to Proton.

I would say case by case basis, I have friends who have their X70 Radiator replaced in 2 weeks opposed to ETA of 2 months. Still slow in my opinion, but earlier than expected.

I also read real cases of Ativa took more than a month to replace Radiator.

I guess it is entirely depends on your luck if parts are available on that occurrence with that specific SC you have visited.

I am thinking to get x50 flagship but top up 10k I can get HRV on top of that I top up another 20k can get corolla cross. So you think is worth to get X50 instead? I am still struggling in choosing.
*
No no, you asking wrong question.
Its like you in the ativa group ask is it worth to choice BRV or Ativa, most people will reply you Ativa whatever troll or serious.

You need check your pocket first then decide car.
Also, on top your word, altis cross topup sikit CRV/Forester, top up sikit lagi ada harrier. Later topup sikit lagi buy Lambo Urus lol

Car purchase doesn't work like that right?

Every car maker facing this issue, just proton take the hit first due to their failed part/stock strategy.

I do read one case of a lady who had an accident from his x70. she send it to 4S Nilai, and within a month, her car is completed.

LOL... no offense if you feel my word straight. due to i make realistic comment,
keep consider any 'top-up', mean you yet really decide your budget.

For myself, if budget 90k and get 100K car CONSIDER FINE, because divide into 5/7/9yr, that HP will cause burden mean that car not suppose in your list
(ofc, topup 10k + years of service etc is another story, but this just one example)

and we yet mention about sales girl making example of 2K+ buy x70 or x50 that cause netizen hoohaa (i think is sale girl, correct me if wrong)

I do not consider the current version HR-V an upgrade to X50, the same goes to Corolla Cross with really old engine instead of the new Dynamic Force engine.

Different people have different priority, there'll be people who think older tech from HRV and Corolla Cross are more stable and reliable and willing to pay that extra for old tech for it's reliability.

If you care about the badge, no matter what tech X50 have, or what quality of material used, you will not be satisfied with X50. Trust me.

Another thing the Cross & HRV beat X50 is the space, not to say the X50 is cramp, but HRV and Cross is definitely more spacious be it cabin space or bootspace.

nah. I don't find it offense. My budget actually manage to get cross but I never own these brand of car before. So I still try to research on the after sales service(how much does it cost) for now.

X70 getting facelift soon. most likely starting with 1xxk and using the same engine as x50 from what i heard

I don't really care about badge. Reliability is my top concern. From what I see X50 is best among them. So I came here to see what is the experience of existing user.

Honestly, now Honda and Toyota also hit and miss on reliability. If you in their group
Thats make Proton that 'not really good' look much better

but conclusion is: THEY ALL SAME SH*TTY doh.gif

So far my half year ownership does not bring me any troubles and I don't face any shortage issue as well.

This car only launched 1 year half here maybe too early to tell. But I did not find much major issue from other countries like Philippines or China as well, in fact even since it's first launch at 2018 it is still selling quite well perceived there today.

Although there's a few mention of the new 4 in-line engine, but personally I do not foresee that will come to Malaysia and other Asian market so soon, China need this 4 in-line engine because of their stiff competition there, but look at Malaysia and Philippines, the competitor keep offering the dated tech to us with old engine and stripped down specs vs european/japan market, look at Vios chassis, how many years has it been?

Still in the end the key to reliability is safer to seek for older tech which is proven to work if you don't mind adopting the older tech.
There's basically no right or wrong.

I do somehow need to give a special mention to Subaru XV as the car is more value for money compared to HRV & Cross due to it was equipped with better equipment at similar price like its AWD, Boxer engine, Steel Chain Driven CVT + dual wishbone suspension. But Subaru is not loved in Malaysia probably because people hate Tan Chong resulting in poor resale value. It was a very well balanced car with lower center of gravity.

me 2 more month going 1 year. no single major problem hit me.
the only thing that annoy me is driver side door panel rattling, where months ago my elbow knock decrease the noise now it came back with lower noise so i can more precise locate it, pending to resolve.

hater keep mention about 4-inline engine, but they forget malaysia only few engine manufacture, and all going for 3-inline and build production line here.
china different story because you not making 4-inline, other do it.
also they claim X50 using 'vios' chassis too.

your subaru view and opinion same to me.
for me the only downside is that boxer engine, not much 'bawah pokok' mechanic dare to service or repair it.
(i asked i kenal de machanic, they not really mau to touch it.)

if u rajin watch the China Car review on youtube, their market is full of turbocharged engines from known to unknown brands. in general, the basic spec will come with 1.5T to 1.8T combo with 7-speed DCT, while the premium/expansive will come with 2.0T combo with 8-10 auto normal torque converter.

only the Japanese model gives CVT.

Just whatsapp or call your local service center to appoint date and time.
and just to make sure they got all parts you need for the service.

And the so called "Vios" chassis is too expensive for Proton to adopt for other models for their future development sweat.gif

But anyway the BMA Chassis was ironically re-engineered based on Toyota chassis which believed to be Vios with addition of hot press forming and a few modifications made on the existing platform to strengthened the chassis strength. However it is quite proven here with numerous major accident reported, remember the SA who totaled the car at 180km/h came out unhurt + there's also a video of front collision test made with Binyue VS HR-V head on with Binyue came out with studier chassis, although there could be some variables due to local assembly, but the result was quite promising. Meanwhile the current Vios here is not with the same chassis strength as the X50. Same same but not same.
