Guys, is Allo has changed its policy? I noticed in early August, my private IP didn't change anymore. But in QnA, it still shows Dynamic private IP.
*
No, always this.
From my 1year of allo usage, it only changed 2 or 3 times.
Even off modem for 30mins won't change it unless their system change.

important part is this "Dynamic Dns setup your DDNS" ?
how am i going to set that >_>......

ok i go home try  thumbup.gif

important is setup the port forwarding. You need port the local IP of your device and its triggered port.
DDNS is secondly as Allo is providing 'almost' fixed IP as it never change.

Are you sure your IP is public IP yet?
Does it pingable?

If yes try another port.
Make sure your device IP and port are correct too.

Hi Guys,

My area only have Allo Infra here, do you guys recommend me to apply for allo city broadband or Maxis Broadband? Since Maxis ride on allo?
Considering the routing issue for allo that i read from this forum, is Maxis also same?
*
I have both allo and maxis ride on allo. I dont play game, so both of them are just same for me. But i still prefer allo because it is cheaper, that's all.
Maxis on allo doesn't so 'hard cap' speed as riding on unifi. Sometimes have free 3-6 months bill promo thru agent.

Thanks. Hopefully they still entertain Public IP request
My in-laws actually have no use for Public IP but I think better get it now before ALLO turns the table and no longer allow Public IP requests laugh.gif
*
Ya exactly. It is the most value public IP plan (with hidden fixed IP too) lol.

Recently saw some technician routing fiber on the TNB pole in my residential area, then saw the fiber cable named allo, is allo better than unifi ?
*
Major services like fb google are ok. Routing for gaming mostly bad. But I don't mind as I have free unlimited cloudflare vpn. Customer services are extremely worst.
Used 2y and will continue using it because very cheap. No complain if no service down.

Check their FB group, it looks bad

This is because peoples are only saying the bad things or like to complains. You check to all the ISP groups and you will only see tonnes of bad comments.

I am using Allo CCB, Maxis on Allo, and Unifi at the same time.
I would rate Maxis has the best routing.
Unifi has the most stable and fastest technical assistance.
Allo is just cheapest. But doesn't mean they are unusable. Just not as good as TM/Maxis.
The only biggest downside for Allo, they subcon their CS and the services are terrible. Very very worst. This is the reason that i am mad when there are downtime and i have no one able to assist me immediately. (Usually 2-3hr per email reply, and they only accept email for technical issue, no call. And all of the cases auto fixed before the cases were lodged successfully, because of taking too long to response and reply, imagine 2 emails to diagnosis/troubleshooting that was 5h.)

Back to quality question, Allo has average 4 downtimes per year, each time around 1-2h. While TM about 1 time per year, Maxis about 2.

if u pay cheap, then u expect cheaper service as well lo.

tm unifi is almost no alternative to anyone unless u have time to sign up. else just stick to unifi.
*
Correct. Since i am using it for normal browsing/movie, so that is not really critical and i can accept the downtime. Even the Allo contract is end, i have no plan to switch anything, cheapest and nothing to complain. Any downtime just temporary use the handphone data nothing big deal really.

As for TM, their response is the fastest, doesn't mean they can fix with ASAP too, especially deal with cabling issue. It took near 10 days to fix my office line. It has just no better choice.

I know my monthly usage pattern well after using my home fibre line for over 5 years.

If there's a 5G provider who can sustain over 100Mbps of speed even with weak 1-2bars of signal strength and priced at RM70-RM80, I'll not think twice opting for it because my 30M fibre plan is costing me RM105 per month which I don't even get to use much of it with most workdays out of home.

In Japan and many countries fixed 5G plans are now the trend, fibre plans are so yesterday.

*
There are no way to predict and avoid congestion with wireless plan.
Because 5G is new now, plus there is a "entry fees" (+RM10 or 20~, or subscribe more expensive plan to turn on 5G addon), so 5G is low adoption now we cannot conclude its real performance.
Don't forget Malaysia is not using 5G mmWave, so it is actually mean 4G+ imo.

Other reasons like public IP, stability, torrenting... are the main factors that peoples give up wireless solution.
