QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Oct 26 2025, 10:22 PM) from what i know, allo somehow they dont have enough fund to expend. so if there is downtime, sure got delay. that why they offer CD to tap their fiber. Allo fiber itself seems good. since Oct 24 ( even I riding via CD, only twice downtime due to LOS on 2024 and no LOS for 2025. Just CD problem, which hehe QUOTE(wc_how @ Oct 27 2025, 04:13 PM) Allo CS and aftersales services are terrible. Not like I have other options around, especially when the early termination fees are sky highI have a hotlink 365 (RM30) + RM10 for 5GB, as backup internet, via WAN2. If i noticed the downtime, i will buy something like hotlinkMU 20gb for 2h for RM2 or similar if i need longer and bigger quota. i have average of 30mins downtime every month, yes every month. I know they hired a bunch of contractors to expand their infra in Batu Pahat recently, so they still have the intention to push their service through Johor However, the lack of technicians scares me I dont mind occasionnal outtage, it would still be better than having congestion every single night Still, the slow responses to everything kinda.... |

QUOTE(wc_how @ Oct 28 2025, 10:00 AM) I get used to it. I have a 4G wifi dongle, not sure if that will work with my Asus router or notThey are the cheapest fixed IP that available in the market. (not really fixed but their IP never change). So I have hotlink backup via wan2 and they will back online after 30mins to few hours. Regardless, I will keep Unifi alive till contract end Double WAN failover should be enough |

I think this is the worst installation experience I will be seeing in my entire life...
17/10 Installation failed due to high fibre reading (1st installation attempt) 29/10 They finally fixed the issue 30/10 installer came to install (2nd installation attempt) However, he didnt bring the correct router as he thought I subscribed to 500Mbps (No mesh). Supposedly he will come again tomorrow with the correct equipments... Gosh, I seriously consider writing an email to complaint about everything... How is this even possible... ----------------31/10---------(3rd installation attempt) Been given a tiny Nokia ONU, with a pair of Tplink EX220 (AX1800) for mesh At first he was having issues setting it up (PPPOE problem) Then the speed test was really wonky Getting 1000/100 instead of the promised 1000/500 Technician spent 2hrs+ trying to identify the problem Couldn't make it to work, so he took back all the hardware and said he will bring something new next visit Needless to say I'm extremely unhappy This post has been edited by QuantumEdge: Oct 31 2025, 12:40 PM |

QUOTE(kwss @ Oct 31 2025, 03:08 PM) QUOTE(cyberic @ Oct 31 2025, 03:54 PM) Not even trying to give router with 2.5G port for 1Gb plan? I was damn pissed because of the multiple installation attemps and endless issuesCurrent users.... How is the internet service? Not going to blame the installer, but their infra 1st, not able to provide the promised speed 2nd, even the installer warned the provided router will only be able to push around 500Mbps wirelessly I'm using my own gears that are perfectly capable of handling this speed, but seeing them cutting corners on their FASTEST plan is just downright... 3rd, not giving me a proper headsup before sending someone here to do the installation Imagine he went through the installation with my parents that are not tech savvy, and I ended up getting 1000/100 instead of the promised 1000/500 I'm paying the full RM139, I'd expect them to give me the full promised speed Yeah, glad I didnt terminate Unifi Even if the installation managed to be completed, I will keep Unifi as a failover This post has been edited by QuantumEdge: Oct 31 2025, 09:42 PM |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 1 2025, 08:53 AM) Cause Allo maximum package speed is 1Gbps in which really don’t need 2.5Gbps ONT unit. I’ve tested Unifi 2Gbps package and they gave Skyworth AX3000 ONT + Router AX3000. During speedtest only able to pull 1Gbps at best but internal GUI tested 2Gbps. Had to get Asus TUF AX6000 to pull around 1.8Gbps. Still waiting for them to respond lolYou really need to call Allo hotline to complain very low upload speed. Unacceptable. Supposed I can cancel the entire installation right? -------------------------------replied on 1/11--------------------------- "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for reaching out to us. QUOTE(kwss @ Nov 1 2025, 05:13 PM) Actually what's so difficult with speed problem? He went through 3 units of router, 2 units of ONU, couldn't get it to work. They already fixed the fiber, so I assume reading all okay. Or maybe they don't know how to repair fiber also? You can get 1gig download but only 100meg upload. Check the profile in OLT manager. If okay, check the profile in RADIUS. That's all. This kind of problem TM can fix with just a phone call by the technician. Like that need to ding dong for so long meh? Says a lot about their skills. I didn't asked him for the fibre reading but presumed it is ok Saw him contacting support but they seems to be oblivious as well He said it should be router's issue consider "speed from ONU is 1000/500", I tried to use my own router but couldn't get the PPPOE to work Originally he wants to leave me the ONU with PPPOE credentials to do a speed test from UCG-Ultra but his supervisor said he must bring back all the hardware Now no idea what will happen next, I'm just glad I kept Unifi Yeah the routing is shit, but at least it worked... I'll post a speed test result from Allo in a moment, the results are weird |

QUOTE(kwss @ Nov 1 2025, 07:30 PM) When you said ONU can get 1000/500. Do you mean you connect your laptop straight into the ONU and speed test came out okay? The installer said he can get 1000/500 from ONU side, but the PPPOE is dialed from the router so no idea how he managed to get that ..Supposedly you plug in your own gear and setup PPPoE, it should work the same right? What PPPoE problem you had? I look at the speed test. I could only guess the person configure it wrong. Maybe he assign 1000/100. I think a lot of people use 100/100 so he kind of mindlessly did it wrong. There's 2 places for speed cap, on the OLT and on the BNG with HQoS, which is configured via RADIUS. If your area is new, and the OLT is new, there's a chance the profile itself is wrong. Since nobody in your area use 1Gbps, nobody notice it. Asus router just said wrong credentials but we cross checked, it is correct (no VLAN as well), I couldnt test with UCG-U because it arrived late My area is new, I'm highly likely the only person within the 3KM radius that has subscribed to Allo This post has been edited by QuantumEdge: Nov 1 2025, 07:48 PM |

QUOTE(kwss @ Nov 1 2025, 07:54 PM) If he didn't plug in anything into the ONU and get 1000/500, I am not sure how he know the ONU works at all. No idea, I'm very fed up with the installation tbhPON is not like DSL where the modem will show you the sync speed. Unless they also have something like TM Force that will show installer the configured port speed. Let's say they do have similar system, it still doesn't tell what they configured inside RADIUS. In the end they all sounds like lack of skill. Like how do you even have PPPoE problem to begin with? This thing is set once and forget and won't break. Pitty the installer as well, he is working alone unlike your typical Unifi team with at least 2 people I just hope they can sort out everything on Monday... He didnt use anything like Unifi installer's handheld console, everything is going through his WhatsApp+Telegram So when things goes wrong, he has to take pictures and send everything to his team |

QUOTE(kwss @ Nov 1 2025, 08:32 PM) So they lack of skill, lack of tools, lack of testing. The emailed and SMS-ed me early morning todayAt least after deployment, install the client side gears and test all the speed tier they are selling . Very obviously this is never done. All the DP not working, PPPoE not working, speed also wrong. First time since registered for the installation I've received a proper notice from them telling me the installation time For the previous 3 attempts, I was only contacted by the installer either a day or few hours before the installation QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 2 2025, 10:03 AM) Is the Huawei ONT modem culprit that bottleneck hence ALLO doesn’t have any package beyond 1Gbps. Nothing much to complain about. 930mbps is too good for me. I was told by Anime4000 (the person who developed and deployed ONU stick) that Allo has a very strict cap on the speedEven with 2.5G pon, you will never get anything extra credits to lwk523, he is on Allo 1Gbps plan with GPON stick ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 2 2025, 12:03 PM) He’s on an older 1Gbps package which is 1000/1000 1:1 ratio. Gone are those days as Allo right now provide 1:1 ratio till 500mbps package only. Some 1Gbps still able to request 1:1 ratio with reasonable excuse. I heard from allo technician whereby one of the customer is a cartoon creator requested 1:1 ratio on their 1Gbps for video upload speed. For me, 500Mbps upload is enoughThe only reason for me to take 1Gbps is because of the promotion, since you can get double the download speed for the price of 500Mbps Do I need 1Gbps? No But it is nice to have However...at the moment they cant even give me a working internet Hope their team is able to get everything working tomorrow Oh one more thing, mine doesnt seems to have IPV6 Is this the same for everyone? |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Nov 2 2025, 04:49 PM) Actually 500mbps is enough for my day to day usage including steam game updates. Just that I’ve been using 500mbps since 2021, only this year they finally sent an email offering me 1Gbps for 139 in a 12 months contract with one Dlink router. As my another premises is using 300mbps package for 99 then 6 months later they offer free upgrade to 500mbps for 99 for life time. Just wondering, do you have IPV6 under Allo? Also, yours are DHCP or PPPOE? |
