Is there anyway to automate rm35 add-on purchased as soon as user topup rm40? Something like umobile did with their gx plan.

There is elderly user complaint to me that hotlink is such hassle need to topup, then need to manually buy add-on.

no.. prepaid concept is meant to be all manual to self-manage needs

For mobile phone actually not a big prob, one hardly will download much on the go, can always do it at home with fibre broadband. To me, having a internet plan on my mobile that I only pay fixed price of rm35 without the need to worry about exceeding anything is totally good.

It shows when ur line will be active till, does it show when it will be terminated? Grace period?

the free 1gb data daily from maxis is damn useless man. can only be used for gahment websites or apps.

Yes, it’ll show the termination date when the number gets into grace period in the Hotlink app.

Ya agreed. I did a test, full 5 bar at around noon July 4th

1. without any subscriptions and only the 1GB data available
- fast.com will give me around 64kbps
- speedtest didn't even connect
- whatsapp was noticeably slow
- bbc/star other websites load a bit slowly but usable


2. with 3mbps subscription
- fast.com gives me 3.5Mbps
- speedtest immediately gives 20-30Mbps
- whatsapp is much better
- can't tell much with bbc/star other websites. Maybe they're already amp optimized so the slower 64mbps didn't matter?

I suspect Maxis is throttling the speed on those without a subscription and using the 1GB free data to certain websites but not enough data (or patience) to really confirm.

I wonder why I'm still so loyal to Maxis...

Hi, I am now on Unifi Mobile, the line is bad, would like to switch to hotlink prepaid, is there anyway i can port out without going to maxis centre? and can I use the jaringan prihatin which means i only pay rm20 per month with MNP?

1) No, you’re required to walk in to any Maxis center to do the MNP.
2) if you haven’t claimed it, yes you can get the unlimited @ RM35 for RM20 after rebate. However, you’ll still to reload RM30 to get 30 days validity to fully use the plan.

3) if you’re not worried, there should be some people in Shopee or Lazada could do the MNP for you.

Im the opposite.
I have Hotlink and Unifi bebas. My Unifi line is fine - everyday clock in 2-3GB per day for PDPR , and other necessity.

Whereas the Hotlink, sigh.. keeps switching to 3G in my housing area. Force it to 4G only mode, and calls wont come in, even with VOLTE enabled (and VOLTE certified phone) .
Sometimes Whatsapp can delay even.
So have no choice, leave it to 3g/4G mode.

So I have already lodged complain to Maxis.

Only way to bypass the Free 1GB is use VPN.
And nowdays I dont rely on Speedtest. Run CloudFare or Linode speedtest is more accurate.

I'm using either OpenVPN or SoftEther (only for Windows, although there is 3rd party client in Android)
Both are free and reliable. For OpenVPN there are plenty of Singapore based servers.
But somehow I noticed that Japan servers (majority on SoftEther) are abit faster (not based on Speedtest) than Singapore servers. Somehow.

Hotlink prihatin unlimited data is like digi always active also? Cos i actived on 7/7 and expired on 6/8, and my valid date is actually on 10/7, but now on 6/8
