I rather try 1st b4 give up. btw no windows system is EVER the same after the first install of the OS. a billion things change in the registry just by installing and uninstalling files.

QUOTE(bhaskar @ Sep 10 2007, 09:31 PM) very hard to me not working deluge ubuntu sucks tomorow i will reformat back Windows XP sad to see you are having problems. if you would channel some of that frustration into just browsing some forums and asking questions to get it to work, it probably will. i would say the success rate of this thread is 90% + , either using deluge, ktorrent, running ubuntu natively or virtually Added on September 10, 2007, 10:04 pmQUOTE(Xybirium @ Sep 10 2007, 09:48 PM) Good luck to you then... Ithe only thing I miss in Vista is the media players. I seem to have problems viewing videos in Ubuntu whats up? i can view all videos i download on the web... maybe except rmvb. but it used to work when i was using OpenSuSE so that means i havent tried hard enough. most of the you need the gstreamer good, bad and ugly plugins as well as maybe mplayer and VLC after that you can just choose what video you want in any of the players cause they all share the codecs like in windows. QUOTE(kane32 @ Sep 11 2007, 11:46 AM) Bhaskar ubuntu is not a window, where u can double click and install the program.. (There is no easy way here in ubuntu) u have to click on TERMINAL and enter the command to install, even if u want to connect net. (If u want learn more about it or have thousand of question just use GOOGLE to search). I've install it and running it successfully, speed is incredible. & yes ubuntu rocks, have to explore more on this OS. lets enjoy while it last well, you are both right and wrong. most apps are just download and click install and you are done but the problem arises when there are no deb packages or when you are lacking dependencies. the headaches begin. but use the synaptic package manager, you are able to solve most install problems with that if you dont want to go into the terminal

QUOTE(socratesman @ Sep 12 2007, 07:23 PM) I built Deluge on Debian Linux myself, the source code can be modified to change the user agent and peerid to something else. which file would exactly need tweaking? i would like to try this myself

QUOTE(slash @ Sep 12 2007, 09:06 PM) Can I create a 4gb space to install ubuntu, then make the deluge save the files to another harddisk which is ntfs? Or the files must be saved to the same place as ubuntu? you can save it to an ntfs partition if you want. i tend not to since ntfs 3g is a bit slow, and a lot of reading and writing goes on when u donwload a torrent. so i save it on a ext2 partition and after its completed, only move it

AN OPEN POST TO THE LYN MODERATORS
though this is a private board (in the sense it is owned by someone and he has the right to do whatever he wants with it) my post is PUBLIC. i find the mods have something to learn about moderation. if you are to make changes to either the post subject or content you should tell the person that posted it in the first place. first of all, when i started this thread it was posted in another area of the forum. then the topic has been changed without my notification at least twice. these things may seem trivial and a lot if not some people might say "who cares?" but its all in moderating a forum, which by just observing the actions of the moderators need to read the * manual (RTFM) i am responsible for what i post. you are not. if i posted something offensive i will take the hit for it, not you. so dont go changing what is not yours to begin with.

QUOTE(-Mogwai- @ Oct 28 2007, 12:39 AM) deluge is sucks temporarily..! flame time. ====== for all you morons out there, if you dont like the software, dont use it. its been said time and time again that the linux version (the ORIGINAL versions) are the most stable and get the job done. sure linux is not everyones thing but there are tones of people on this thread who have stuck to it whether its installing it natively or running it virtually and now they are enjoying amazing speeds (by malaysian standards). i am in the UK now with 20mbit unthrottled broadband (suck on that!) and i still use Deluge, not utorrent. if you are so unappreciative and so whinny, maybe you deserve to pay for some shit vpn service everyone is trying to con you on. so STFU, RTFM, show some perseverance and you'll probably get a lot further. ====== this flame is not specifically directed at Mogwai, its because i just so happened to come across his comment thanks to those who have supported this thread and helped people. i dont post in LYN forums much, so thanks for keeping this alive. *praveen puts on his own flame shield* This post has been edited by praveenmarkandu: Oct 29 2007, 01:53 AM

QUOTE(huattk @ Nov 18 2007, 10:23 AM) To the guy who brags about his Deluge speed (SEEDER COUNT OF 5163 YOU ARE FRAKKING ME) why don't you try this torrent: Welcome to the NHK MKV. Watch and be amazed as the download goes from 12 K/s down to egg K/s. Up and down, up and down. More down than up. So TMnet > Deluge. no... we are not "frakking" you....simple solution for us being: just dont watch the shit you watch

damn. when something goes wrong with deluge, all of you think TMnet is doing something. its like you subconsciously want them to block deluge. i know you all live in malaysia and the government is trying to screw most of you over, but try to be less paranoid.
