why not apple opt for battery capacity too rather than storage that varies, people can choose bigger battery capacity

then they'll need to redesign the internal circuit board which leads to further investment which leads to higher price. using old reliable technology and assemble it together is the best move for both apple and us consumer.

It's a good move by Apple as a phone maker, because they do want to fight in the lower end budget segment for market share and cross-selling of their products.

Doing this uses zero R&D. Just slap on a 2019 chip on a 2017 model (which inherits a lot of 2015-2016 design & parts), and it satisfies the needs of their target segment nicely. Their factories can churn out these iPhone 8's (I mean iPhone SE2) without any major changes.

I only wish Apple is also smart in their flagship models. It's been losing the magic touch ever since Steve Jobs died. I miss that Apple magic honestly.

Battery meter on paper is just one side of the story. Just like ram, Android handset is pushing 12gb while Apple still stays at 3-4gb. Fluidity wise, I think we know the answer.

Can’t get proper decent 4G let alone the new 5G so soon.

What is your usage pattern like? I had the IPhone XR and I can do 4 hours SOT on a 24-hour period with 50% battery remaining on most days. I'd imagine the 11 would be better or at least equal? I've not tested the 11 yet but I had the 11 Pro Max - that one the battery just won't die in a day.
