Doing this uses zero R&D. Just slap on a 2019 chip on a 2017 model (which inherits a lot of 2015-2016 design & parts), and it satisfies the needs of their target segment nicely. Their factories can churn out these iPhone 8's (I mean iPhone SE2) without any major changes. I only wish Apple is also smart in their flagship models. It's been losing the magic touch ever since Steve Jobs died. I miss that Apple magic honestly. |
