Not to judge or make sweeping assumptions, but honestly, certain religions have probably made quite a few "spiritual enemies" with the very black and white way they view things. The way you described the Aztec / Incan deity's revenge against followers of the Abrahamic religions? Textbook example. One actually wonders whether these deities / beings were even originally evil in the first place, or whether their current form now has been "shaped" by the process and history they have been viewed by others and how their followers have been treated.

What I am trying to say is that if you treat me as a demonic being, and you wipe out my followers and devotees because you think they are devil worshipers or not following the "correct" religion, why wouldn't that corrupt me and turn me into something that I originally wasn't?! Even demigods / semi-divine beings are not fully free of the karmic cycle just yet.

But meh, honestly, between the demon who take possession of one or two lives at a time, and conquistadors who wiped out millions of souls "just because".... I know who are the true devils in this case.....

I wanted to ask this cause I'm curious. Some countries I feel at peace and at home while others that are supposed to be safe and beautiful, I don't really feel comfortable in.

So I'm just wondering if our past lives or something affects things like this?

Wow, it took me almost 1 week to catch up with the whole thread so far. Great experiences by some individuals. I'd just like to share mine, not as exiting but nevertheless still baffles me till this day.

Incident 1:
Happened when I was 14, so in secondary school. Was in the scouts' troop and that year we had a district competition, which was held in Templer's Park. So among the competition was structural building. We had to go get bamboos. I remember it was around 6 of us who went into the jungle at around 4pm ish, not very deep. But it was just the trail, with bamboos on 1 side, and I can't remember it was bamboos or the hill on the other. The sky was kind of covered from the bamboos and leaves. As usual, before chopping the bamboos, we asked for 'permission'. Got a friend who recited some prayers, and we started to chop. Towards the end, we felt strong gush of wind around the area. Like even the sand would float up. We just quietly and quickly chopped the bamboos and got out quick. Thing is, no way wind could have gotten there with the sky being covered, and only where we were the wind was there. Luckily nothing else happened.

Incident 2:
This happened in the first year of college. Also with the same bunch of scouts friends. We still went back to our school to guide the troop so we used to have our own meeting every Friday night at each person's house. There was once after a meeting we decided to go out to a park which was just outside my friend's house. We were just chit chatting, and suddenly caught the whiff of something good. Not delicious food kind of good, and it was the first time I got this smell. We looked at each other and guessing what it was, we just decided to head back into my friend's house. That was the first and last time I've experienced 'that' smell.

Incident 3:
Also in college, this time we were being youngsters, got a few bottles of beer and headed to a park to drink. Don't know why all of a sudden 1 guy decided let's play cops and thieves. And we all agreed, and we're playing chasing around in the kid's park in between the slides and all. Suddenly 1 guy just stopped and headed to sit down. Now this guy, he could sometimes see 'things'. He told the few others apparently what had happened but not me. However, that night night I hitched a ride with him and when were on the way back, I asked what happened. Initially he was quite hesitant but he said when I was chasing them, there was 'someone' there with us. And I had accidentally crossed the person's path and he wasn't pleased. Thus my friend stopped. I asked, 'is the person here with us now?', luckily no.

Incident 4:
This happened in 2010. My boss and I flew up north for an assignment. Reached the hotel around 3-ish in the afternoon and checked in. At the front desk there was a notice saying they were doing some renovation works. So okay, my boss and I went up to our floor (we got the same floor but different rooms). It was either the 11th or 13th floor. When we got up, the lights on the floor were flickering, so we thought it's just renovation works, right. I got the corner room. Did all the necessary before stepping into the room like knocking the door, saying I'm only here for a couple of nights. Lights in the room were still flickering, didn't think about it too much and showered and headed out for dinner.

Came back at around 6ish or 7, powered up my laptop and turned on the TV. Boss messaged me asking are the lights still flickering I said yea. So I thought if 2 person's rooms light flickering shouldn't be an issue. Till around 9-ish at night, I was still on my laptop and the TV was on. Suddenly I heard what sounded like drilling. But it went for like 5 minutes I thought. Then I thought, they can't be doing renovation works at this time, and the drill can't go on for 5 minutes right. I got off my bed and went to the bathroom to check. The hair dryer had turned on itself. Okay.... I thought maybe there was a power surge. Turned it off and went back to my bed. The TV dies. Just like that. I called maintenance and he came up, couldn't do anything about the TV, and before he left I just mentioned about the hair dryer incident to him. He looked and asked, 'So you takut ah?'. I just smiled. 5 minutes later, the front desk manager calls and says they're changing my room. This was when I started to feel scared.

Quickly packed, went downstairs, got the keys and into my new room. FML when i got in, right in the middle of the wall, was this piece of mirror from the ceiling to the floor. And my bed was facing it. I've read about mirrors being a 'portal' for beings to come over. For those 2 nights I just gamed till like 5am before really knocking off. Cause I'm a light sleeper, I just wanted to drain myself out. Next day told my boss and he saw me I guess he knew I was having a tough time. Work went on smoothly.

On the last day when we've checked out and were having a meal when the locals asked how was the hotel. I said my story, then my boss said he asked his friends who'd stayed at the same floor, that it was haunted. He didn't want to scare me earlier. His friend's luggage was placed at a different location after a night's sleep. He doesn't sleep walk.

But till this day i still feel there could be some scientific explanation to the hair dryer turning on. Or not?

Today I suddenly remembered something from many years ago.

I do not have any availabilities to see or sense supernatural stuffs.

Many years ago I was in Bali for a holiday. Went to tanah lot for sunset photos like everyone else. 😆 All the photos on the camera display looks normal.

After come back to KL, I showed my mother the photos on the TV. In one of the photos, we can see the silhouette of Buddha inside the clouds!! We were really shocked. After viewing the photos my mother told me to delete the photo of Buddha. We should not keep photos of God.

I do have a story to share. This is when I was a kid and my whole family stays in 2 storey-house back then.

There was a day where my elder brother was having fever and was sleeping the whole day while I was just playing in the house. My mom got so worried that she kept praying to our altar which has Kuan Yin , Ancestral Table, Tei Ji Gong like numerous times a day. When we were all asleep (Me, my bro, my parents all slept in 1 room) and hits midnight, my mom suddenly woke up and wanted to check on my brother's fever situation but before she gets up to attend to my brother, she saw a shining white figure flying towards my brother and touched him? After few secs, the shining white figure vanished and my mom was super worried she rushed to touch on my brother's forehead to see what happened. The next morning my brother was back to his healthy self running around and my mom was so relief.

She told us this but she was thinking was it god that answered her prayers. Till this day, it embedded into my memory.

I'm a person that sleeps soundly and wakes up only when it's at least 7 hours of sleep. But there was once at one night, I woke up suddenly to find out there's a tall floating white figure (looks like a man) that shines brightly (there's even light on the wall) looking at my sister (we sleep together in a room), it disappeared right after I blinked my eyes (I stared at it for a few secs already). My instinct told me it was my 'Gong Gong' (mother's father), but I'm not sure... because I have no memory about how he looked like. FYI, there's Guan Yin, Di Zhu Gong and my father's side ancestral tablet. Is it possible that my mother's side ancestor came to visit my sister or something?

Both our children I brought them out when they were 5 days old, brought to a church and then for a meet with the paediatrician. 2 weeks old brought to go long distance in a car to be by an ocean.

Haven't decided where will be the first place we bring our next 2 out. Most likely will just bring them to  The Bund for a stroll as we don't attend any church here.

recently my house came "fruit" bat. can it protect ?

there was once i came home at about 7pm or so. sun was really low, evening turning into night already.

stepped out from my car and took maybe 2-3 steps i  smell flower smell. instantly i suspect got something around the area and didn't wanna go in the house yet. didn't feel scared of anything just suspected it was something passing by and didn't want it to tumpang masuk rumah la.

i walked around and checked my house garbage compartment from the outside incase my mom bought flowers and threw out, walked near neighbours house one to see can pinpoint the smell or not, no nothing. so i just stood still then the smell came to me. i took two steps away no smell, then wait a bit the smell came to me. take another few steps different place don't have, wait a while it came to me again.

this time super confirm got something around so i just waited chill outside, check phone (back then nokia only can play snake and sms). maybe about 15mins or so like that no smell already, i walked around the area to confirm. nothing already only i went inside the house compound, wash feet before entering house.

it's like really pinpoint location only can smell the flower smell, take 1-2 step away it's totally gone.

I've been following this thread from time to time and I've got some questions to ask if any fellow members here could answer. (hint hint Calodin/ladytarot99)

I am a freethinker, at least for now. Wasn't really brought up religiously since young. Father side's Buddhist, mother's Christian. Being as a freethinker, will I be more prone/susceptible to encountering "something" as I do not pray to any Gods/Deities? Will I be targeted first before religious people around if it comes to something something? I have not encounter any of such incidents, if you might ask. I actually have not thought of this before, only after I've read this magnificent thread.

Am I deemed to be weaker if I'm a freethinker? Or it doesn't explains this way?

Of course, not wanting anything to happen. Just curiosity strikes if you may.

Let's just say IF something happens, and I do not have the Supreme Being to pray to, what should I do? -May ignore this if it's a little BS.
