I think much will depend on the pricing. If it's priced at about 1400-1500, you'll find a lot of alternatives out there.
Yes, app optimisation is important too. That's how Apple gets away with their "smoothness" even with 60hz display. iOS apps are just better optimised.
*
Honestly people buy too much shit with iOS app optimisation.

Apple has been using the best SoC since the beginning. GPU rendering long before Android implemented them. If gaming, yeah, I would believe there is some difference can be achieved but normal apps, nah.

phone with higher then 60 hz aka 90hz 120hz
when playing a game that DOES NOT support it,grafic wise no different....
BUT control RESPONSIVEness is at that selected HZ aka 90/120HZ.....
even thought grafic is 60hz but  control/touch sense send info at 90/120...so ya u will fell it

yes this is what i meant, the touch response is slightly faster, hence the 'smooth' feeling~

if android can optimize the 120hz refresh rate on their next big update, it will be a truely wonderful things for eccentric s0-called 'mobile gamers'
thumbup.gif then manufacturers will makes more higher refresh rate phones
the browsing experience will be super nice with AMOLED + 120Hz thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

That means if the apps for Android are better optimised, then we can enjoy the smoothness experience even with 60Hz display also?

Is it possible? hmm.gif

Among all the UI/OS for Android that I tested on the lower midrange phones, like SAMSUNG Galaxy A20s, HUAWEI Y9 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, the one that can give smooth performance no matter under what conditions is MIUI.

Yes, tested on 90hz game....not much different.....only is i m trying to share is when i enable 90hz it is like Samsung phone enable screen sensitivity......i can feel the screen response more sensitive.
Human eyes hard to different refresh rate.

I also got Samsung A30, A50, A70, Xiaomi MiMax2 and Mimax3, Realme XT.......although is 60hz screen and the screen sentivity are very good. Not like Realme 5s.....screen response slow

I believe the sensitivity is more depends on the optimisation of the UI/OS.

I had the Realme 5 too, so I can understand your complaints about the 5S but that is considered an exception I guess. The Realme 6 is a good step up over the 5 so that's good smile.gif

how's the gaming performance and also heat? MTK chipset very hard to get custom support roms, many developers drop it cuz too problematic.
It was a good budget chip during the redmi note 3 era, but somehow the  heat and throttling is the main issue of MTK devices.

Hi bro, moved your post here instead. I don't play games so I don't have any personal experience about the performance and the heating up of the phone during gaming, although a number of YouTube videos showed that it does run warmer than its SD counterpart, the Realme 6 Pro.

So far my only experience with the phone warming up was in a 90 minute video call I had few weeks back but it didn't get uncomfortably too hot to handle or anything like that, but I'm not sure how hot it would get after that if the call went on longer than 90 minutes.

Other than that, the chipset performs admirably. No strange battery drain, signal reception is good, GPS lock is fast and accurate, no lags or issues so far.

they come a far way then, hopefully the will keep it up, because Redmi Note 8 pro with the MTK seems to be not doing well. am anticipating their next flagship dimensity 1000.

Hopefully that will give Qualcomm a chase for the money.

Actualy smart phone with 4gb of ram is enough for daily use unless u are a super multi-tasking user a gaming user with max quality graphic.......i own 4gb, 6gb and 8gb ram phones......all same same........no lag or whatsoever. It depends on your budget. For higher ram smart phone is like future proof phone.
I remember i use A9pro with 6gb of ram....i open 11 games [10 games running in the background]....still got 1.8gb free ram left.....no lag.
That why i got confident to buy this Realme 6 4/128.............most important for user nowaday is storage.....the bigger the better not the ram [but minimun 4gb ram at least].

I recomend a few of my friends who want to buy a cheap budget phone.....realme 5i and realme 5s............they use for it working [grab apps, fb, some working apps, utube, etc].....all of them no complain bout this 4gb ram smart phone.

Like my Realme XT and A70...comes with 8gb ram......everytime i checked....still got 4-5gb free ram.......some people says unuse ram is waste ram tongue.gif

I m not trying to say or asking to buy 4gb ram.....i just share my experience using smart phone.....of course higher ram better [if got budget] for future proof.

Actualy a lot of people misunderstand with higher ram and the will works faster......nope.....i use Galaxy Note 3 and 4 before till i sold it last 2 months......3gb ram phone.....also no lag or whatsoever......point is the ram speed. Higher ram speed will make the phone run faster and smoother not the size of the ram.....correct me if i m wrong.
