I was planning to buy one to try 90Hz screen but stopped after I watched a youtube video about the soc throttling while playing pubg. I think they should have used 10nm or lower in 2020.
no proper cooling system, but powerful GPU. even today realme is still selling realme 6 for rm799 @ lazada
sale is low I think. wrong time to release
Well, I dont think it is a very powerful GPU. It is defintely up to date though. It uses the same Mali G76 GPU that Samsung (S10 & Note 10) and Huawei (P30 and Mate30) used but with less core. It only has 4 cores compared to 10 cores on Kirin 980 (I think its 16 cores with Kirin990) and 12 cores on Exynos 9820 (S10/Note10).
Samsung already moved on to G77 and possibly custom GPU based on RDNA next year. Huawei still using G76 for whatever reason with a much higher GPU cores count.
Attached the video from Redmi Note8 Pro which also uses G90T soc and you'll get a better picture. I also use my phone to play 王者荣耀 which seem not affected by throttling but I cannot commit since it showed apparent throttling with PUBG although I dont play that game.

I'm wondering if they will discontinue the 4GB RAM one for this, or perhaps downgrade the 4GB storage to 64GB? Hmm, no idea. We'll have to wait till Tuesday morning to find out.
I dont think so.
Actually I saw some videos by Indian Youtubers and they were highlighting Realme 6 Pro which is based on G90T with 8GB ram. I think they might just be unveiled as Realme 6 Pro with a higher pricetag.

If you're playing games bro, I'd suggest the SD720G. the G90T tends to heat up faster under heavy workload and can cause throttling which will affect your games.
Speaking of gaming, did you read the rumoured Samsung RDNA benchmark? Fuh... I really hope it's true. Destroyed Adreno 650. More than 2x faster.
Yeah, I did read about it. I do hope Samsung fix the fundamental flaws in their Exynos chipset though - idle battery drain and weak cell reception. Those culprits caused me sell off my Note 10+ after just 3 weeks of usage
I think battery drain when idle is always there since a long time ago but got worse recently when they tried their custom cpu.
I'm just surprised that they lost all their lead with their custom big core when ARM released A77.
Yeah, I've always thought it was a Samsung UI problem then I bought and tried the S10 Lite with the SD855 chipset. The difference is night and day in terms of standby battery time and signal reception
Do you still have the S9+? Not sure what they did with it but recent firmware upgrade, battery life improved quite significantly. Now I only get sharp drop when gaming.
Probably RM1,399? Don't know, seems like a ridiculous strategy releasing so many phones with just minor tweaks and different prices! Hahaha, yeah. But remember, the Honor 20 is over a year old. In over a year, this Realme 6 will probably cost about 700 or so. Buying older phones is the way to go with Android to get better value for money
At least Honor20 is a flagship and will get few updates. Not so sure about low mid range phone.
The white looks OK also what, haha. If they continue the sale after the launch of the 8/128 one at 1199, then no one would buy the 8/128 because it won't make sense to pay 400 more for just the additional 4GB of RAM. Maybe they'll have 200 off for both variants so you can buy at 799 or 999.
Even Realme official site messed up. I wonder how many people click the RM899 to buy Realme 6. I thought they released a new colour but when click on video, it said 6i. What a bummer.
I think much will depend on the pricing. If it's priced at about 1400-1500, you'll find a lot of alternatives out there. Yes, app optimisation is important too. That's how Apple gets away with their "smoothness" even with 60hz display. iOS apps are just better optimised.
Honestly people buy too much shit with iOS app optimisation.
Apple has been using the best SoC since the beginning. GPU rendering long before Android implemented them. If gaming, yeah, I would believe there is some difference can be achieved but normal apps, nah.
sorry i am new here, try to read to the whole 31 pages but no idea still
what is 90hz and whats it benefit? thanks
If you dont know what it is, it probably wont matter to you anyway.
It just the screen refresh rate. Normally screen would refresh at 60Hz but some brands are using higher refresh screen like 90/120/144Hz screen which will make the animation smoother. However it all depends on how good your eyes are.
betul jugak...some even lower to 720p screen....i think its a good idea since many phone dont even have L1 L3 funtion on netflix..... and i see most of utube 60hz vs90hz vs 120 vs 144 they need to slow down like 50x to show the different....i mean why right?bcause its barelly noticeble, just base on my observation
The difference should be quite apparent but since youtube videos are mostly 30/60fps, you can't see it if they dont slow it down.
