Sifus..  i got an upcoming trip to Tokyo in early June2025
Recently many warning news of looming Earthquakes  and  Mount Fuji eruption simulation,  a bit out of ordinary..  especially these are warning from jap gomen themselves ?  preemptive warning .. Do they know something others dont..
My question is .. if i buy now the Travelling Insurance say AIG covering the upcoming two weeks trip in June..  If really has disaster strucked in Tokyo before flying there.  Can i claim back the flight, Booking.com accomodation or Klooks itinerary paid ???
*
Travel insurance only cover your medical expenses, flight delay or cancel. Earthquake wont stop airlines flying.....if you cancel the trip by your own...you wont get any compesation from Travel Insurance.

Whole journey must green light biggrin.gif Est 2 minute spend for Traffic light ...200 Yen
2700 + 20% surcharge....3240 Yen is the Min!!

4km range...means you stay at Otorii / Kojiya Station nearby area. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, I’m doing a solo trip to Tokyo and trying to find some cheap accommodation, preferably below rm200 per night since just solo. Ok with communal shower & toilet but prefer to have my own room so that I can unload luggages.

Thinking of trying 1 night at capsule hotel too - any good recco? Would prefer to stay close to city (probably ginza, Shibuya, shinkuju areas?) so I can just walk back after exploring and not confined to train timing. Appreciate your help!
*
Cheap price wont be in city center. Tokyo poor people zone Kitasenju will able get Rm200 capsule.

Hi all, just wanna ask all those that has experience bringing kids to Tokyo.

Are baby chairs common in restaurants around Tokyo? I know that family based restaurants do have (e.g conveyor belt restaurants, fast food chains, etc) but the restaurants that we plan to visit seem pretty popular and cramped (e.g.some sushi restaurants in tsukiji, tsujihan, ramen shops) those restaurants also seem to only have counter seats and my kid will be too small to sit on a counter seat by himself.

In Malaysia, baby chairs are common in all restaurants.
*
NO. Most of those only have counter seat restraurant are adult only. 18 below are not allow to entering.
If "Izakaya" mention at Google Map. Kid are not allow to entering.

Anyone has experience booking car rental for Hokkaido in the summer?

Don't know if Wakkanai too remote or what. It's about 2 months out and a few rental websites said the cars are fully booked out? @@
*
Summer is Hokkaido Peak season. Japan website very sneaky and rasict. Peak season, you need to have Japan IP address....you VPN your IP into JP, magic will happen.

wanted to rent directly from Rent-A-Toyota website but seems like they showed everything fully booked.

went thru some 3rd party website (Rakute, Tocoo, etc.) can see some availability, but they got their own markup + additional charges

hmm
*
This is how the world works. Same as Hotel. Hotel XXXX at Japan got 1000 Rooms, 100 Rooms reserved for Agoda, 100 for Booking, 100 for Trips. 400 reserved for Japan IP address. 200 for Oversea IP address thru website
100 for walk in.

All Japan car rental , Hotel , Bus, Train , Themed Park also work this way.

Hi all, I have a question. According to the japan immigration website, we are only allow to be in Japan for 180 days per year. This year I've been there for 89 days (from feb to may), end of this year [dec 22 to jan 5] (christmas + new year) i plan to go there for another 14 days and next year feb / march i plan to again for animejapan 2026 and travel to other states (not sure how many days yet).

Based on my understanding is that they count through rolling year, meaning from 2025 feb to 2026 feb if i have stay over 180 days? While i understand that I may not be over 180 days, im still scare that if immigration will give me any trouble for visiting so often? or will i be fine?

2024 been to Japan before? Your first Japan trip start on 2025? Example you 2025 Feb 15 10am start entering Japan, 180 days limitation will be removed on 2026 Feb 15 10am. If you didnt been to Japan on 2024, basically Dec trip will no be any problem.

2026 Feb trip lagi no problem becasue your 2025 trip start from Feb.

More than 180 days will no just Fine, you will be also get blacklisted to entering Japan for next 5 years.

I have registered for the entry QR code as a family. Each of us has a unique QR code. Do I need to send a screenshot of each family  member's QR code to them, or I can just show one by one via my phone at the immigration checkpoint?
*
QR Code follow Passport...only children below age of 12 can attach together with parent. Age 13 - 99 must hold QR by own with own passport

Has anyone taken ANA transit flight at Haneda/Narita before?

is it true even for connecting flight (eg KL --> Haneda --> Sapporo), you still need to retrieve your check in luggage for immigration inspection at Haneda and then recheck in again to fly to Sapporo

I read this in ANA website
However, when flying into Japan, there is a customs inspection for all arriving passengers regardless of connections to domestic flights. Please pick up your checked baggage at the carousel, go through customs, and then leave the baggage at the domestic transit counter.
in this case, a 1 hour transit time in Haneda is definitely not enough, right?
*
From International to Domestic....yes. You need to take luggage and go thru Japan custom check...and re-checked in at counter. No only Japan...whole world practice the same thing.
BTW, 1 hour will be enough if you fly Business class. biggrin.gif this called Money buy over time. You can deboard the aircraft faster, you got Business class fast lane custom clearance .... Business class transit counter.

How come Airdo doesn't allow flight booking beyond October 2025?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Because Japanese people perfer last minute buy ticket. Japan Shinkanen, Bus Ticket , even restraurant , Ryokan only allow advance 3 month. AirDo only flight domestic, so allow 5 month in advance consider very good. Anything in Japan domestic, advance booking only within 3-6 months.

If I have some tax-free items and the shop already sealed in plastic bag, can I put them in checked-in luggage? Do we need to show the customs officer at Haneda Airport before checking-in? If yes, where is the custom counter located at?

Second question, some of those tax-free items are not sealed (non consumable). Can those items be checked in too?

Many thanks
*
Japan Custom don't care about this because you are away. They don't give any fxxx. This is Malaysia Custom Job.....This is the Time Malaysia Custom charge you import duty tax.

So means better to put as hand luggage. Then just before boarding, take out from plastic and throw away price tag. Can work?
*
If the Item comes with Box, throw away the box also. Example..Gundam....you need throw away the box for sure.
Janji less than Rm500.

1 box of Gundam ok....2 MG set....you better throw everything away. Watchers 100% throw the box away...

Touring as in toyoto corolla touring?

I saw times car rental offer quite a good deal though. not sure reliable or not
*
Touring can be any Brand...can be Toyota, Subaru Legacy Touring. Big space if you alot big luggage. If don't like Touring, SUV are alternative.
Touring / SUV normally alot available during summer, it will rent out instantly during winter because of ski equipment.
