No wonder, search for terminal 0 comes out nothing. What about the checked luggage, usually auto transferred?
*
It will auto transfer to your next international flight. Make sure when you check in at New Chitose, let the staff know all the way to KL.

How do you obtain this info? Been searching for it online. From ANA website. Do you know why the procedure is different between the two legs?
*
99% World Custom will do the same. Trust own custom and own regulation. From International to Domestic...you had to pickup luggage and re-check in again at domestic counter...bag will go thru Japan own X-ray to make sure you didn't bring any thing bad stuff into Japan.

From Japan back to KL...they don't give a fxxx....because it not my problem any more.....that why I mention from CTS to KL...bag will direct into next flight. Even you bring drugs from CTS to Kl they also don't give a shit...that will be Malaysia custom problem. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I intend to use the 10 day Tohoku Pass. Arriving at HND at 21:30 on 30/10 and wanna catch the Tohoku shinkansen the next morning from Tokyo station to Shin Aomori station. Is it advisable to buy the pass online now and reserve a seat on the shinkansen? Or just buy the pass and get the reserved ticket at the JR East office at Tokyo station on 31/10 morning?

Even if I buy and reserve online now, I'll have to pick up at the JR East office at Tokyo station cos my flight arrives after the JR East office at HND tutup.

Also if I activate the pass by first use on the shinkansen on 31/10, I should be able to use it for the trip back to Tokyo on 9/11 right? Double checking cos doubting my counting ability now lol

Oct 31 Morning 9am Start activated. Until Nov 9 9am ends.
Buy Pass Online, Reserved the seat using machine at Tokyo Station. Tokyo Station JR East Office always full of people in line.

That is a good tips. Did you self drive or rely on public transportation? If public transportation, did you use the Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass too?
*
For me this Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass not worth it. It didnt cover Donan Buses. BTW, you didnt plan go Otaru, Asahikawa, Biei, Furano, Hakodate....
Might well buy JR Hokkaido Rail Pass. If your trip got more than 2 pax...Rent car are the best option.

Ya, I am still hesitating about this Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass. The only advantage I can see so far is it covers up to Noboribetsu. Wanted to go Hakodate (maybe can see ending of sakura) but train took about 4 hours. Going in middle May so no lavendar hence skipping Furano/Biei too. Just 2 pax. This is my itinerary for now. Is Jozankei worth going?

Day 0 - Arrive 7:35 PM, Sapporo
Day 1 - Sapporo
Day 2 - Otaru daytrip
Day 3 - Jozankei daytrip
Day 4 - Noboribetsu (still thinking daytrip or overnight)
Day 5 - Depart 8:30 PM
*
Jozankei most beautiful was at autumn season. But Onsen hotel price will be x3 times. summer activities at Jozankei was hiking alone river. If you not going overnight at Jozankei or hiking, basically summer version of Jozankei cannot offer you anything...Autumn Season even not overnight, but you still can take outstanding picture.

first time flying to Osaka in mid-Jan26 with toddler for 8 days
any thought?
havent done the travel homework yet but already booked the flight ticket
*
Mid Jan in Osaka will be cold. Japan alot restraurant (small) & famous are not baby + children friendly / welcome. Make sure you do homework, find baby welcome restraurant. Alot alot restraurant do not accept age 7 below. smile.gif

Family style restraurant like Ootoya , Yayoi 100% ok biggrin.gif

Let say some restraunt you like to try...you saw from youtube / xiaohongsu / Insta....etc etc...Just go to Google Map key in the restraurant name....then go to menu section....if menu no children meal means ..Age below 7 are not allow.

How does the system actually work? Do taxi drivers in Japan use their own cars or are they operating official taxi vehicles? Is there a special app that allows you to communicate directly with the driver? And how do they know your exact arrival time?
Japan is supposed to be safer, right? I’m planning to visit next month with my husband and our daughter, so I’d love to understand how the transport system works and what to expect.
*
Japan E-hailing only allow to Taxi. It only feel like online calling Taxi. All using App calling taxi will be surcharge extra 500 Yen. Uber / Go Taxi App is like your Grab...once you calling taxi, you will know the taxi car number plate and driver name. You also can message him. You better call when you at airport outside. You dont "stupid" like alot Malaysian start booking taxi when you start debording aircraft, no even clear custom & collect luggage...Japan taxi once you booked it, it reach pick up zone, meter start ticking....you will end up 20000-30000 Yen biggrin.gif

Oh Yes...Grab / Uber wil let you know destination price...Japan no..it just call Taxi app..so it wont show you the price from airport to your destination final
price.

2200 - 0500 will be 20% extra Surcharge.

Passenger pay for the Express way Toll Fare.

So....after 10pm, you at Haneda Airport call taxi service to Tokyo City. It will be [Taxi Fare + Midnight Charges 20% based on Fare + Calling fare (500) + Express way Toll fare]

Another is go DARK WAY devil.gif
Those from Trip / Klook can booked Airport to City transport using Alhard...99% drive will be Chinese. Nagative is alot no showed driver.
you bear the risk .

Hi all, anyone have used local japan taxi to travel with luggages? Im thinking of using the go app to move from one Airbnb to another Airbnb, 2 adults + 2 kids with 4 luggages (2x large and 2 hand carry) with a stroller.
*
Japan Law, baby 1 days old also consider are one Pax. Japan Taxi only can take 3 pax. As long are Human...auto consider as one pax.
Remember select van, Normally will be Alphard. ....Expensive..... cool2.gif
Stroller consider as Large Luggage...5 luggages...emm emm....I doubt even Alphard allow too......One word...hilat
I Suggest you Squueze into 3 Luggage + 1 Stroller.
Japan law above everything...don't even try, Japan taxi driver will closed one eye open one eye.....
