Going to Fukuoka this July, 13 to 16 4 nights solely for food trips. Any recommendation in Fukuoka summer time? Exploring food is our main priority, so interesting place will be our extra bonus, definitely will go for Pokemon center since my friends and I are Pokemon fans.

KL any recommended JPY exchange currency? So far I only heard Midvalley has the highest exchange rate.

Most of Fukuoka food gathered at Tenjin Area. Famous Yatai also around Tenjin area.

If you can't get 4WD....dont rent the car. Accident rate very high without 4WD. Dont play play.

Alphard shld be ok as long u request for the winter tyre …on tuesday i drove from sapporo to ashakiwa with toyota aqua only bcoz no other car available (snow festival) …encountered very heavy snow so i maintain speed below 50km/h
*
Toyota Aqua in Hokkaido are 4WD model. As long is AWD, Steady in snow. Driving Alphard in snow = self destruction even with winter tyre.

Now at Hakodate, tbh not much to do. Already went to all the famous places in 2 days, still left 3 days to go lol. The road here is even harder to walk than Sapporo with all the ice melting. Lucky Pierrot was delicious though, and very big portion. One meal can last one day biggrin.gif

For some reason all the people decided to stand on the centre of the road to take pictures, really smh. Cars honking but nobody give af.

I just went to all these places 3 weeks ago, car is preferable than public transport. If without car a lot of places will be very headache to go to. Parking and gas are not cheap though so better prepare some budget for both.
*
Japanese prefer public transport because they can walk, Malaysian can't. 5km radius from Station for Japanese = Walkable.
From Sapporo Station they will walk until Susukino Zone
From Tokyo Station walk until Tsukiji
From Shinjuku walk to Harajuku.

Just to confirm, the Tokyo Subway Pass validity is based on hours instead of calendar day right? Tq

Yes. Based on Hours. Time start when the office counter / Machine hand over to you. Not based on 1st go thru gate time.

Hi Guy I m going to tokyo in early June.. Family 3 adult 1 child.  Using Air Asia ,  Arrival time is 10.30pm  by the time coming out of Haneda airport ? 11.30pm, near midnite ??

1. Apart from Taxi,  how to get to my hotel assuming is Shinjuku , Shibuya area ? JRline and Tokyo metro closing by then ??

2. Where to stay hvent book accomodation yet
Airbnb feasible as almost midnite and host may not be around to give keys
Any particular hotel recommendation  ( has to be near station)
If Taxi haneda to central how much assuming midnite rate ?
3.  Any link regading tokyo trip in lowyat forum ?
I m looking forward to stay for 7nights, and visiting  disenyland, disneysea, shinjuku, shibuya,    daytrip to mount fuji (using klooks mainly )  ,
There are few Teamlabs ,  (planet / Tokyo / MoriBuilding)  which one is the best assuming just choosing one ?

Thanks in advance
*
Both Keiyu and Monorail last train depart from Haneda will be 12am.
Keiyu will bring you to Shinagawa Station while Monorail will bring you to Hamatmasucho Station. When you reach either station will be 12am, metro will no longer in service. You can take taxi to your hotel, much nearer compare from Haneda airport. It will cost you approx 5k-7k yen midnight rate. Direct from Haneda to Shinjuku by taxi + midnight rate will be approx 13k to 17k Yen.

You want more Chinese food, Chinese faces in Tokyo can choose Ikebukuro. You want cheapest hotel in Tokyo will be Kita-Senju Area which AKA the Slum of Tokyo.

I'll be driving from Shin Chitose to Hakodate end April. Any interesting stops in between (not overnight, just for quick meal or sightseeing).

Going Hokkaido end April, hoping Sakura blooming will come a bit early for us to catch it.

Ana currently has a promotion that's affordable from Kuala Lumpur to sapporo. All in around 7k return excluding kuching. The caveat is that it arrives right before midnight and next flight to sapporo is 620am. Not conducive with my 4 year old and need to find hotel in haneda. Add in kuching and the over night. Would be around 11k. Luggage won't be transfered through so leceh need to collect and check in blah blah.

Looking at JAL total 17k. Luggage will transfer through. But the flight arrives in Tokyo in the morning and including kuching.

You can look for EVA Air, Starlux , China Airlines as alternative.

How is the credit card acceptance in Tokyo? should be much higher compared to 10 years ago right
*
Chain Restaurant, Famous On Web are all accept card. If you follow Tabelog, higher the score, higher the rate no accept card.
Tabelog high score, in Google Rating will be low. Google high rating, in Tabelog normally just 3.4-3.8 Star biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

anyone has experience doing the below via train

morning : osaka to nara (put luggages in Nara)
Noon : Nara to Mount Yoshino
Evening : Mount Yoshino to Nara (collect luggage)
Night : Nara : Kyoto
*
Impossible. Too Rush. Unless you no plan to visit Nara historical sight. All you want is See Nara Train Station only.
No direct Train from Nara to Mt. Yoshino

From Nara Kintetsu Station had to go Yamato-Saidaiji Station. From there had to change Train to Kashiharajingu-Mae Station.
From Kashiharajingu-Mae Station change to Kintetsu Limited Express to Yoshino Station.
Whole Train Journey took you 2 hour....2 way journey means 4 hrs on travelling. Plus you need to match Limited Express Train timetable between Yoshino Station & Kashiharajingu-Mae Station.
Actual time you need to spend are even more...at the ends,...you missed all Nara and Yoshino....You should travel for peace not for war.

Bro, the below is what i obtained from internet.. this works?

Using JR trains, you can get to Yoshino-guchi Station from Nara.
From there, take the Kintetsu Railway train to Yoshino Station (30 minutes). Yoshino Station is at the base of Mt. Yoshino.

Once you've arrived at the station, you can walk up the steep incline or hop on the Yoshino Ropeway. A bus also offers a speedier tour of the mountain.
*
You didn't put in waiting time for the Train. Once you reach Yoshino Guchi Station from JR Line. The Wating time for Kintetsu Train arrival to station.
To suit Best switching between JR & Kintetsu means you had to sacrafice the visting Nara time. Just too rush...you wont be enjoy....
From Yoshino back to Nara, you also need find best switching time at Yoshino Guchi Station again....This also making your visit time at Mt.Yoshino very limited time.

Most Hectic Part:
Bus Timing between Mt Yoshino to Kintetsu Yoshino Station...This timing also had to match the Train leaving Yoshino Station to Yoshino Guchi Station.
Yoshino Guchi Station also need to find Matching JR Train timetable because JR train are very limited in this station. After all the perfect timing match, leaving how many hour left for you to enjoy Mt. Yoshino? One part screw up, you will end up waiting 60 minute for next JR Train to Nara direction at JR Yoshino Guchi Station.

Whole trip is no enjoyable. If you alone ok, with family no....

I been Visiting Mt.Yoshino 4 times in my Life, From my observed, even Japanese going Yoshino or leaving Yoshino are taking Limited Express all the way from Osaka. Go by morning and back to Osaka by evening. Almost full day trip for Yoshino, slowy enjoy.

I never heard anyone, even my Japanese hardcore traveller friend also won't put Nara + Yoshino together as one day iternarry. Nara + Uji yes....Nara + Yoshino...wow this is my first time.

Planning my trip for Tokyo for end of this year. Would like to get some comment and recommendation if possible. Thanks in advance.

I am looking to plan a 1 day travel for:
Shibuya -> Lake Ashi (Hakone Ropeway: Togendai station to Owakudani station) -> Gotemba Premium Outlet -> Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine (if possible)

Question:
(1) Any transport recommendation for the first leg Shibuya to Lake Ashi? From Google, train and bus takes around 3 hours and 4kYen.
(2) From Google, bus from Owakudani station to Gotemba Premium Outlet takes around 1.5 hours and 1.7k Yen. Any recommendation if i should use other station to Gotemba Premium Outlet take is a better route? Should i finish the whole ropeway route to Sounzan station?

Is it recommended to travel from Shibuya to Shirakawago for day trip? I checked and travel time seems to take around 5-6 hours.

Thank you.

Success Rate is 0% in December. Hakone & Kwaguchiko separate into 2 Days

Shibuya to Shirakawago are impossible by one day if you travel using public transport. Unless you rent a car. Can be done but you will tired like hell.

December Japan Daylight only until 4pm. By 4.30pm will be dark like our 9pm that kind of Dark

Hi all, just came back from a Tokyo trip few weeks back and planning for Osaka next year. So researched abit on flights and found an ANA flight from KL to Osaka.

However, there is a stop at Narita Airport and I have to self-transfer to Haneda airport (about 4 hour 50 minute self transfer)

So it'll be like this,
KL - 0800 depart > Narita - 1540 arrive (4 hour 50 min self transfer to Haneda) > Haneda - 2030 Depart > Osaka - 2150 arrive

Is it do-able? Or is it too stressful? I checked on transportations and it would roughly take 1 - 2 hours. Not taking into account immigration clearance, delays and such.

Would it be wise to find something else?
*
Do you know from Haneda to Osaka are landed at Itami not Kansai. From Itami to Osaka Umeda almost 2330.
Narita immigration clearance are way better than Haneda....4 hour 50 minute transit between Narita & Haneda are way enough. You can take Limousine Bus, cheapest and most easiest. No need transfer transfer.
Narita Airport got one very bad thing was Wind Shear, This airport always encounter Wind Shear, your Landing experience will be like roller coaster, and Go Around.......

if I have a 5-days Tohoku JR East Pass, what do you think of the below itinerary run?

Day 1 Tokyo
Day 2 Tokyo to Aomori (stay 2 nights)
Day 3 Hirosaki
Day 4 Sendai (1 night)
Day 5 Return to Tokyo
*
if want to max the pass. day1 find a morning arrival flight into Tokyo.
Day 1 Tokyo > Morioka > Akita. Overnight at Akita
Day 1 Optional - If not intrested in Morioka, can go Lake Tazawa + Kakunodate then continue to Akita.
Day 2 Akita to Aomori thru Gono Line. Resort "Shirakami" train
Day 3 - 5 remain
