Hi everyone, would like to ask some opinions, out of all of 3 which lcc has the least problem? Spring Japan / Jetstar / Peach aviation

plan to take one of those from tokyo to sapporo next feb. so far right now saw spring japan has the cheapest flight available.
*
Feb...expecting flight delay / cancel. Need back up plan. Specially flight delay backup plan.
I will take Air Do as main, Peach as backup. Air Do base Hub was Sapporo, they had the best exp pilot to tackle snow landing....Air Do no flight service, only one complimentary drinks (non refill)
Spring Japan are sub of China Spring...thier in flight menu or online booking meal very similar to AirAsia. Food are good !!

Just back from my Japan 7 days trip. Went to Seven ATM to withdraw via Wise card, got charged 220 yen for a 90k yen withdrawal.

Japan changed a lot. Now they start embracing digital payments.

End up use only 2k yen, rest is via PayPay Touch N Go and Apple Suica card. laugh.gif
The 2k yen also because some ramen shop in Asahikawa Ramen Alley didn't accept any of it and only cash. Turns out also my worst food in Japan. Very touristy area. Should skip XHS recommendations next time.

Also most eSIM sold in Trip.com rubbish. Can't even exceed 5Mbps.
Only the Japan eSIM Softbank in trip.com line works best. Can go 300Mbps+  brows.gif
*
Old traditional restraurant still very stubborn. Cash only. If you used Google Map to search restraurant, mostly will be cashless but if you used tabelog to search 4star above restraurant, mostly still cash only. biggrin.gif

I see. Hope Japan can be really cashless one day similar to China. I hate carrying their coins.

Also nowadays can't eat and drink at convenience store anymore (although purchased from them)?
*
Yes. They removed the sitting space for more shelf. You can eat outside at parking lot. Rubbis Bin also at outside.

Dear sifu sifu sekalian,

I would like to ask about Hokuriku Arch Pass.
My plan is to begin with Tokyo to Toyama for 2 days.
And end with Tokyo
Then i need to fill in the rest of the 5 days. Any ideas?
or is it possible to do day trip from Tokyo using only Hokuriku Arch Pass? so no accommodation.

or any cheaper way to travel to Toyama lol.
*
If Day Trip to Toyama no need any Rail Pass. Just buy Express Bus ticket. 30000 Yen buy pass just for Toyama are crazy.
Hokuriku Arch Pass for In from Kansai / Tokyo > Toyama > Kanazawa > Fukui > Kansai / Tokyo Out

Airasia departure from CTS airport is 9:40 am, so need to be there by 6:40 am. Earlist train is 6 am, arriving at 6:28. What other alternatives available? What do most people do, stay overnight at the airport? Book a hotel nearby on the final night? Thank you
*
First train leaving Sapporo Station to Shin Chitose Airport start at 5.50am. Every 15 minute one train from Sapporo to Shin Chitose Airport.

No diffrence from earlist train (5:50am) from Sapporo Station and reach Airport also around 6.30am
Unless you stay at Chitose City and take Taxi to Airport but early morning got extra 15% surcharge....

Looks like we will postpone Hokkaido to next year or so. Thinking about Japan in 3rd week of June. Internet says it is rainy and low season. I wonder how heavy is the rainy season over there.

Any recommendation for fruit picking and/or factory tour In Tokyo or at nearby cities like Kamakura, Kawaguchi, Mt Takao?

Many thanks
*
3rd week of June is peak season. Start of Summer. Furano & Biei will be packed like hell. Based on my memory & experience, Hokkaido in June not much of rain.

Nearby Tokyo can fruit picking will be [Karuizawa Garden Farm]. Starwberry Farm at Karuizawa.

Wife want to visit farm and eat fruits. All is covered in snow in March while to late (read: too expensive  laugh.gif) to plan for this year's Furano Biei.

So to appease, aim for Tokyo instead while browsing for cheap flight tickets  biggrin.gif

June Tokyo Rain will be 3/4 Of the Day. Rain stop for 1 hour then continue rain again...then stop...then start

1st Bus leaving Tokyo Station Yaesu Side Bus Platform was 5am. Journey took 60 minute.
You had to buy Bus ticket 1st from Yaesu Express Bus Ticket Office.

QUOTE(Rexoz @ Jan 13 2025, 08:53 PM)
Hello everyone,

I'm planning to visit Tokyo in March and only that city I suppose, any recommendations of hotel that I can stay that is near the center/downtown or perhaps around Ginza?

I have surveyed the hotels in numerous sites and I would like to seek advice whether its better to book hotels directly at their main website or its good to book through agoda/booking.com/expedia?
Just afraid of the stories that sometimes(although rare) that bookings through agoda/booking.com can sometimes be invalid due to overbooking and would like to lock in the best as possible.

I'll be traveling alone and will be there for 4D/3N

Any suggestions and recommendations will be appreciated.

Thank you!  notworthy.gif

Center / Downtown will be very expensive. What is your Budget?
Want cheap hotel can stay at Ikebukuro. You want even cheaper can stay at Kitasenju.

can any sifu kindly explain how this kind of 1 hour layover work?

won't there be risk of delay or missed flight?!
*
1 Hour Transit Time from Domestic to International...conlafirm missed flight. By 2210 the Boarding will be start. You only got 30 Minute go thru entire Terminal, Go thru Custom, Had to take Stupid Transit Bus to International Satellite Terminal Building. Conlanfirm Cannot

Even 0.001% you success........your luggage also won't follow you to Japan. Next day had to come to Kansai airport again to collect your luggage.

Then how come MAS still go ahead with such schedule?

That’s the part I canot understand
*
Business class passenger can because MAS got chauffeur with BMW 7 series for it. Direct to Aircraft Gate.
Business class passenger luggage got priority tag, last in first out from aircraft + Business class passenger got Fast Track custom lane.
biggrin.gif This call Money money money

Economy bags also can be hot tagged to make the connection.

Last time I did a short economy connection at SIN, they had ground staff holding a placard with my name on it upon arrival and they buggied me to the departure gate.
*
MAS flight to SIN 99% are B737
B737 luggage system are one by one drop in / unload, to Japan was A330 /A350 which is All luggage store into one Container and shipped into Aircraft. 100% your luggage won't follow you to Japan.

always have risk for flight delays, but at least the airline is responsible for putting you to the next available flight in such cases. PROVIDED you book the connecting flights in the same itinerary.

maybe check MAS website to see whether the luggage is checked-through (just checked-in luggage at Penang, then it will auto all the way to Japan)

for me no harm having a bit longer layover if possible. can chill a bit at the PPL lounge etc.
*
As I mention previous Post. Yes, your luggage will auto all the way to Japan but you had to pick up by next day. Because A330 / A350 using Cargo Box to put all luggage as I mention on Picture. Those luggage 1 hour early already done packing inside Cargo Box.

B737 / A320 Luggage load & Off load was individual one by one.......That why you saw on youtube , ground hadling staff throw your luggage biggrin.gif

Quick question: I'm taking KUL-SIN-NGO with layover at SIN. Do I need to fill up the SG Arrival Card?
*
No, Your Just follow the Transit Sign...you will still remain Airside, you won't go thru any Singapore Custom.
Unless you wan to out, Jalan Jalan on Jewel. Go thru Kastam.....Inside Singapore Soil....done jalan jalan....go thru kastam again
