Just returned from Osaka. I used Wise card pretty much over every konbin (familymart, lawson), retail store like Uniqlo/GU, restaurant, street food and even entrance ticket to Kaiyukan/Parks/Shrine.

Reminder if your card is new, first cash withdrawal will have a activation fee of 660yen (one time only).
Also, free cash withdrawal only twice a month under RM1000. Once exceed, charges Will be apply per withdraw,
In fact you may activate in Malaysia atm first before going there to avoid any panic. Once activated you can use it basically anywhere i state above except rail & buses.

Has anyone taken ANA transit flight at Haneda/Narita before?

is it true even for connecting flight (eg KL --> Haneda --> Sapporo), you still need to retrieve your check in luggage for immigration inspection at Haneda and then recheck in again to fly to Sapporo

I read this in ANA website
However, when flying into Japan, there is a customs inspection for all arriving passengers regardless of connections to domestic flights. Please pick up your checked baggage at the carousel, go through customs, and then leave the baggage at the domestic transit counter.

in this case, a 1 hour transit time in Haneda is definitely not enough, right?

From International to Domestic....yes. You need to take luggage and go thru Japan custom check...and re-checked in at counter. No only Japan...whole world practice the same thing.
BTW, 1 hour will be enough if you fly Business class. biggrin.gif this called Money buy over time. You can deboard the aircraft faster, you got Business class fast lane custom clearance .... Business class transit counter.

ANA flight landing in Haneda is 10.15pm at night. I doubt there's flight to Sapporo at 11pm-12am midnight.

Regardless, just stay a night at airport hotel is better for the piece of mind. Just consider the "savings" from ANA/JAL promo (typically free domestic flights) being used towards paying the airport hotel

How come Airdo doesn't allow flight booking beyond October 2025?

Because Japanese people perfer last minute buy ticket. Japan Shinkanen, Bus Ticket , even restraurant , Ryokan only allow advance 3 month. AirDo only flight domestic, so allow 5 month in advance consider very good. Anything in Japan domestic, advance booking only within 3-6 months.

No need so early buy if you plan to go in another few months, late buy might be even more cheaper. I purchased airdo ticket to hokkaido last dec but jan suddenly become more cheaper.

For Japan, yes even on one PNR, you can't check through your luggage to your final destination.
Upon landing in your first port of entry in Japan, you'll need to pick up your checked luggage and go through security clearance there.
Once done, you then check in your bags again and continue on to your next destination.
Exiting Japan is fine though - can check through.

I wouldn't recommend 1 hour transit time, but it really depends on how quickly you can clear customs upon arrival.
The domestic leg, you can rock up to the gate fairly close to your departure time and still make it.
I wouldn't recommend anything less than 90 minutes transit time though.

At the same time, if you're travelling on one ticket, I imagine they should be able to put you on the next flight to CTS since there should be multiple flights per day.

Really? I don't usually do domestic connections, but I'd imagine if I'm doing something like SYD-KUL-PEN, I should be able to check in my bags at SYD all the way through to PEN, and not have to retrieve it at KUL.

I took batik air early this month, and the service was pretty good. Plenty of legroom too, but need to prepared something to get past the boredom onboard lol.

What provider you with? I’m using digi roaming, everyday 3gb internet and will refreshed daily. I believe celcom and maxis have the same roaming plan also.

I took one way batik air from kul to narita, no delay. To me the experience is slightly better than airasia but not by much. I didn’t order any food cause it was a red eye flight. A lot of turbulence though, not sure if it was the pilot or the weather.

Just bought one way from Narita to KL one, midnight flight.

I read many reviews of having 2-3 hours delay or some cancellation and I am a bit scared now

Delay sometimes inevitable, my airasia flight back from haneda to kl also delay 2 hours more from 12am to 2am. Cancel don't think can happen.
