JR pass is expensive now, IMO for your case wasn't worth it, just buy normal tickets
for Osaka, can buy the Amazing Osaka pass for some of the tourist experience, you'll save a lot from there, can get it from Klook
if wanna buy luggage there, most popular choice for tourist is at don don donki, tax free and lots of choice, but don't expect super cheap compared here, but you might find some good offers, and again there are extra discount vouchers for don don donki, just need to hunt around
if wanna save on CC forex charges, use the prepaid CC like Wise or Enrich Money, just top up your yen in there as use it normally like a normal CC, zero forex charges, and can withdraw cash from local ATMs as well.
Supermarkets will have both cooked and frozen seafood, best time to hunt for those cheaper cooked food is around 7/8pm, go early you'll have more choices but lesser discounts, later will have bigger discounts but lesser choices
