TBH its not a big buff because COEX would still slow me more than your default speed, and if you add in BOP/BOF, im done.I seriously hope they buff CoEx. and if you havent noticed, everytime ur bof'ed, i kidneyshot you, and my priest will promptly fear ur paladin, forcing him to heal you and neglect cleansing, so ur practically perma wounded/crippled. even if he do cleanse, then you will have a risk of getting trinket cb mutilated to death. noticed the last blow? you were stunned during ks, and i blow my trinket + cb mut and did a 120 energy quadruple trinketed mutilate on you? instant 30-40% ish hp gone while ur paladin still stuck in fear. and thats 2v2, a lot of RPS/luck/spec etc etc involved. if its 5v5, the rogue assassination buff would be meaningless as theres hamstring/enemy rogue's cripple, ice mage snare, hunter ice trap etc etc. the main point of the buff is to negate rediculous moments where target and rogue running same speed, both unsnared, and putting the rogue in a really retardedly awkward situation where he cant do crap at all, then add in the fact that the rogue has to move behind the target for mutilate/backstab. same goes for ret paladin too as they dont have snares (unless you count that judgement 100% movement speed fixed |

we finally recruited a holy paladin, and a resto druid at the same time, both are reasonably decked out, and hella skill which totally meats my expectations and requirements.
recruitments are now officially CLOSED. i will probably update this thread once a while to keep it up and maybe our team's status, and since announcement, we'll see if we can get glads for the 6 core members before s2 ends. (the druid/paladin are unable to get it due to their lack of games played, you need 20% games played for the entire season) =edit= bah forgot not to merge posts again to add in, we could still recruit backups, and we in fact still have to spot in our 10 man roster of 5v5. and everyone on the team is guaranteed their 30% so long they can show up as told. (you got about 4-5 [usually tuesday - thursday we dont play much or dont play at all] days during the week worth of chance to show up, if you still cant make it, then you cant possibly get games played now can you) This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Nov 9 2007, 03:37 AM |

Tuesday just hit, and its patch day, and its also time for some DI 5v5 updates!
With the addition of Marino (Druid) and Viraxis (Paladin) our team had a significant boost in CC's, and most importantly, defense/healing, which is just as important as offense. As they used to say, a good defense is a good offense, and likewise around. But, that merely open up more challenges for DI 5v5. As we're continously climbing upwards, we've always bear this goal in our mind - to be the BEST OF THE BEST. With that said, everyone's gotta start somewhere. And since we're playing on an odd timezone on a US based timezone server, lets start conquering the "HOME" timezone first then! So on this one night on Friday, we were doing arenas as usual, although it was boring as hell farming over scrub teams for 0/1/2 ratings, some are even horrible to the extent that they just bend over and stand still for the carnage, hell even our healers were competing on dps meter with holy nova spam, consecration, and hurricanes. Just when we thought we'll be drowning in the oblivion of boredom farming those horrible teams, fate has granted us our wishes. Rayers, from Aegis guild Team Cha Siu Bao, started making some minor taunting remarks on trade channel, as he does from time to time. Before we continue on, ChaSiuBao, along with HongKongKoonYun were the dominant asia/pacific teams on Stormscale, each representing their respective faction. Back in our scrubby days of 1.6-1.7k ish ratings during mid season2, aegis were already 1.8k-1.9k rating with their members basically full S2 decked, or close to S2 full deck. There we thought, its finally show time. After long months of preparation against their team, this is the time to apply it to the works. Without hesitation we queued... and with disappointment, its not them. We promptly finish our match, and just queue as normal. Upon entering, our /who indicates that they are in the same arena map as us, and the moment the gate opens, the 5 names that we've been wanting to hunt down are all showing up on screen, and arena master/gladiator UI mods. The match began in Nagrand arena with both sides being defensive, especially team ChaSiuBao. However without notice our priest dashed out alone to the field everyone of us was rather shocked as this would mean a quick death for our priest. Before we even know it, everyone from ChaSiuBao rushed out to zerg him down, but we capitalized that to our advantage instead, since that opened up their defense for our offense to swipe in, resulted in a massive double edged sword scenario. It was VERY intense with a lot of near death situations (AT LEAST 4+ times) with one time our priest having as low as 600 is health, i quickly kidneyshotted the hunter regardless that it is just 2 combo point to buy time for the heals to come out and prayed hard from then on, and on the other fronts Sheeps/fears/cyclones were dished out to their warrior and a lil on their warlock to halt dps for even the slightest fraction of a second. The fight went on about 2 ish minutes straight without a pause, and our raw preasure on their hunter finally kicked in, healers were getting slower, and slower. their healers were also running critically low on mana, shadow fiend were sent out by their priest but were cut down in its effeciency by some random cc's, and the mana tide totem from their shaman was promptly destroyed. And then opportunity struck, CC's shifted to their priest, shaman was completely oom, the burst was called out, death sentencing kidneyshot was landed, shrieking bolts of frost and deadly arrows flew across, and the hunter fell over, dead. and their morale greatly dropped, the shaman, being also damaged by aoes here and there, and never could heal himself due to the never ending preasure poured upon their hunter, was swiftly killed after the hunter as he is only 50% health, and with the hunter dead, a momentum of shock along with our dps overpowered him completely. with the fight going on with 5 vs 3, the result came clear. The finale was a total of 4+ minutes match, and 13 ratings delivered to the victor - Team Death Infused Five. We tried to get more games from them, as it was very challenging, and DEFINITELY rewarding over the 0/1/2 rating scrubs, but they've backed down and immediately logged off after the match we fought. Our first half of the push before season 2 was pretty well, we even netted around 2090 rating, however the team that we've farmed 30ish ratings from managed to caught us offguard on the last match, landing devastating cc's on both of our healers and decisively struck me down and scored the win, taking back everything that we've taken from them. We queued again determined to have some revenge, however we no longer see them q'ing, intelligence reported that they've stopped queues and a few of them logged off or went afk. They however started q'ing again when 2-3 of our members logged. For the final highlights, we are currently sitting firmly on 2062 ratings, ranked 111 on the entire battlegroup, and earning 1131 arena points for the week (not that many of us really need points anyways Patch 2.3 now, and 1 more week till season3, looking forward to a good final push to the gladiator titles! This is Quazacolt, leader of Death Infused PVP teams and guild leader, signing off. |

Not much of an update this time, we've got some attendence issues of recently due to our mage gtg'ing aus and priest's PC being faulty.
last week was a decent week, we made minor progression, but still 1 point behind hongkongkoonyun, which taken our #1 stormscale asia/pacific team title away. we were 208x with a 4 DPS setup due to paladin unable to wake up and priest having pc probs, so the druid solo healed, the decent group we faced fed us 13 ratings on the win. but they had a deadweight that they were prolly trying to feed points to (a shadow priest that we dropped in under 10 sec). next match we faced them again and as expected they swap the s.priest with a 400+ resil elem sham with 12k armor and 11k hp. things were obviously sour for us as we only got a solo paladin healer (druid playing his pal's paladin, which is the paladin that couldnt wake up, just to get his 30% games) and in the end we lost 19 ratings, coughed back our ratings that we won and 6 more from our pool. well, still few days away from s3, chance for the gladiator title is slowly slipping away from our clutches. hopefully we can still get it. even if we cant, theres always season3 and ALL of us are prepared. with me having 100% enchanting mats and jewels etc and honor capped with 2x pvp epic gems preped and arena points capped. basically done 100% full preparations for season3, and a few of our team members have done the same, while the rest slowly reaching there |

QUOTE(dishwasher @ Nov 25 2007, 07:58 PM) Coming from a pve player, I'd have to say it was fun reading some of your battles. Hopefully you guys will be able to start season 3 well established and go up the rankings quick, do us malaysians proud (wtf 500ms arena team wtf). hehe good to know someone's getting something out of the random bumps. tried to make them interesting over the usual boring "bumps" as LYN WoW forums are gettin really dull of late.and just to be exact, we actually do have 3 americans in our team (one thats been with us since the beginning: doomhunter, and the 2 recently recruited healers that know each other IRL - viraxis/marino) but yea, despite the latency advantage, one of them (doomhunter) is basically a clicker/keyboard turner (yes, believe it, we only discovered this when we're in the 2k++ ratings lol) 30+ year old uncle thats *drumroll* doing to be a father soon (just recieved news that wife got pregnant). well at least hes learning a lot now since our discovery, and thats one of the most important aspect in a player's progression, willingness to learn and improve. hes already using his keybindings, using strafings/mouse strafings etc, and even went as far as purchasing a gaming grade mouse. (since pretty much everyone in the team has em and its not kewl not being a kewl kid, so he got one anyways, and get a ton of shit from wife, but hey, least hes a kewl kid now) Added on December 3, 2007, 5:53 am QUOTE(khelben @ Nov 27 2007, 10:23 PM) im a SS oldskooler here, been playing for around 3+ years, with the same name, same undead rogue. no way im ditching all that now Added on December 3, 2007, 6:29 amanyways, to those expecting some update, i should've been writing this after our last week of arena as its really hard to pick up the bits of memories about our last few arenas, which was quite interesting. but ill try my best to bring up some highlights and a decent article. With season3 extended to an additional week, every arena player across the board are having mixed feelings, with some getting restless over the delay of season3 as they are basically capped out on honor and arena points and have nothing more to look forward to other than the new season, whereas some being actually happy of the delay as it allows them to get another week's worth of arena points, or honor points, or even a last push up on the rating ladder. whichever it may be, season3 is coming close, and everyone is preparing for the coming. That pretty much goes the same for us, as our members are basically either farming honor, or farming mats/gold for their new gear that they will be getting in season3. In regards to our team's progression, things havent been going too smooth for our team of late as our priest's computer went down, and our mage is having a vacation at australia. That, coupled with the recent DST (Daylights Savings Time) occurance, further hammering our team's attendence as our aussie mates cant be doing arenas too late and our american friends are having trouble waking up even earlier than before because if its too late, the it will be difficult for the aussies as they are 3 hours behind. To sum it up, we've been having troubles to get the games started throughout the week until this one fine day on sunday (or was it monday?) we managed to gather up a decent setup of Hunter/FeralDruid/Rogue/RestoDruid/Paladin. When we're starting up the games, for some reason tmnut screamyx decided to be an ass to me and curse me with an avg of 700-800 ms latency. Reconnections for better IPs had been in vain and there isnt much time left for the team due to DST and everything, and the fact that it is our final week, so i will just have to endure the pain of playing in such extreme conditions. That said, blessing in disguise, we had a pretty damn satisfying good start as we were pitted with double happiness team right off the bat. The fight began with all of their dps focusing solely on me, and didnt even bothered to cc or even dmg our healers so im pretty much kept alive with quick recovery talent, hots ticking endlessly and paladin holy light spam crits. while even myself under the preasure of focus fired, and the rest of my team whos free to do whatever they damn well wish, dropped their hunter with relative ease. With 5 vs 4, the match is no doubt all in favor to us, and in the end, not even a single person died. the subsequent 2 more matches was just about the same as the first, with them coming to their senses a little more and they actually started doing something to our healers, but our healers manage to ward off their cc's/attacks and kept me alive. The wins was very satisfying, but something wasnt right, the rating gains was a lot lower than expected (about 10ish per win), and they arent running with the characters that should be their main setup. so, we come to a conclusion that this may be their alternate arena team, unfortunately, no one captured their team name, and we are unable to confirm it. but we do know that they have 2 teams, and both teams, are WELL UNDER our ratings. (main team: Hongkongkoonyun is at 200x dropped from 206x, and the other team: ninja kura kura at 1800/1900 ish rating range.) Needless to say we've relcaimed our title of being #1 stormscale asia/pacific team, we also have a very strong and solid lead over the rest of the competition. Then came along the team that we tend to face from time to time, they are mentioned in the last update. (post #77) The first match ended in a fairly easy fight as they were running a 4 dps setup with a paladin which was easily cc'ed and their members dying off 1 by 1. and to our surprise after the victory, we gained almost 20 ratings. That definitely was a pleasant result, though short lived as we know that they can easily swap in their regular 3 dps 2 healer setup with paladin priest as their heals and it'll be really tough for us to deal with. We queued again and it was nothing out of our anticipation, they did a 3 dps 2 healer setup, even swapped their rogue for an elemental shaman. our paladin was cc'ed badly while they're mage and warrior dps'ed me, while the elemental shaman single handedly blew up our resto druid. When the dust settled we lost without even killing one of them, which was rather shocking (pun intended) especially from their elemental shaman's burst damage capabilities. Another match we splitted dps just as they did, and the result was much better with us killing their shaman, but still we lost, as the shaman managed to do an insane burst down on me before he died from a series of trinket NS CL into shock and a well timed PI on the mage for him to shatter combo. I was pretty much electrocuted and shattered for good measures. 3rd match against them, we arent expecting much as they are a team thats well co-ordinated on burst damage oriented style, and while we're good on offensive, we arent too well on handling a team that ultilizes sudden-death burst damage on the defensive department. So we just use work out the strat with our hunter and feral druid permanently on the mage (with aimshot to preasure the healers), while myself on the shaman to have him permanently locked down to not have a single charged jolt casted out aside the occassional shocks everytime its cooled. We managed to ward off series after series of co-ordinated burst in additions to CC's on our healers, and the fight rages on for about 2-3 or so minutes, and i have been watching, and waiting patiently on the mage, counting off the iceblocks being used and blessing of protections being casted, at the same time concentrating everything ive got against the shaman doing my very best to lock him down with my latency, poison cleansing totem, manual abolish/paladin cleansings working thats been working against my very determination to keep the shaman under control. Suddenly, fate strikes, as if the stars aligned and the very gods smiled upon me and our team! The mage, having both iceblocks used, blessing of protection spent, without icebarrier, without mana, is lingering at 40% hp, with a couple of arrows shrieking in motion towards the mage, and he is coming to my very direction. Immediately i react, forfeiting the shaman, i turn to the mage, as if time itself halted just for this very moment, i pushed my "signature trinket coldblood mutilate combo" button, under the grim circumstances i am in, with the latency and the mage un-snared, i prayed. My character immediately glow red, with the fierce hordish face icon appearing above my head, and to my surprise, his arms were moving, as if my very will is directly controling it, he thrust the twin merciless shankers forward. This instance, time starts to flow again, everything falling into place, the arrows landed, further dropping the mage's health to about 20%, and my trinket coldblood mutilate dual critted the mage for 1.6k x2 stabbing the mage from the sides, and the text "Killing blow!" appeared on my screen. Then and there, the mage fell, and we're on a 5 vs 4 lead. But the battle is far from over, with the shaman loose, and a quick maneuver from the paladin landing a hammer of justice on me with my trinket on cooldown, the shaman further distanced away from me, and started to cast his chain lightning, immediately i called out on vent something along the lines of: "shaman is going for the burst, keep me alive!" Right after the call was made, the first chain lightning hit, critting me for 3.8k, then another trinket NS chainlightning for another 3.9k, and another lightning botl for 2k and a finishing earthshock of about 2k. To make matters worse, the warrior was also immediately intercepted to my position and immediately applying mortal strike along with his flurry of swings slamming be back and forth during the stun. All that, especially the terrifying sound effects of those jolts was definitely something to be feared. As anyone would expect, i should've been lying on the arena floor lifeless after all those attacks, but i was not, in between all those they stopped cc's on my healers, especially with the mage being dead, and they were able to do their very best on keeping me alive, with all the HOTs ticking, swiftmend, NS heal, holy light crit under mortal strike of 4-5k back and forth, i was saved. The moment i recovered, our full fury was being directed to the shaman. The shaman, after being locked down by me all along, and after unleashing those devastating attacks, he finally ran out of mana, and he submitted defeat promptly upon engage. With the battle now 5 vs 3, the end result was obvious, the warrior was cc'ed and the healers that were oom from a very long dragged out fight were taken out without much struggle, and yielded us another 20ish rating. and whats best about this, is we finally broken the 2100 barrier for good! Being over 2100 and further strengtening our position in the ladder. 4th match, they finally figured out our main weakness, our hunter, has no defense mechanism, and them being a heavy burst oriented team, quickly ultilized this to their advantage. they swapped in the rogue with the shaman, and proceeded to exploit our weakness. Battle started with the rogue on the druid, paladin fully cc'ed, and our hunter being blown up in just under 10 seconds of the match. The druid, being preasured from an AR/prep rogue, is forced to kite around and didnt have much opportunity to heal our hunter and our paladin was basically silenced/into sheep before he could even use sacrifice, and even after he bubbled to break sheep, it was all too late. The loss costed us about 10+ ratings, not too huge of a loss so we continued. 5th and 6th match yielded the same results as we do not have our mage or priest to swap in to counter their strat. and coughed back our ratings to them. At the end of the day with our 10 games played. We were pretty sore that we fell from the 2100 level, and even worse, losing our shot at the gladiator title for season2, however it was some very interesting matches, and most definitely it was fun compared to the random scrub teams that basically bend over or just get steamrolled everytime we engage them. And most importantly, as with any arena team in progression, experience, is what we gained the most despite the 30ish rating loss netting us 203x rating from our 206x start. To summarize: - we ended season2 with 203x rating - we're still Stormscale #1 Asia/Pacific timezone team - we lost our shot at the gladiator title To every PVP'er out there, Season3 has finally begun, and may this be an interesting season for everyone who enjoys PVP be it casual or hardcore. May we give out a warm welcome into the coming of this new season. Hope to see you in the arenas This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Dec 3 2007, 11:42 AM |
