Ok finally some updates.
5v5's of late havent been goin too smoothly, we've just lost our 2 american healers that decided to prioritize over raiding, people come and go, so cant be helped.
So what we have here is a paladin thats currently having RL crisis with his baby, that has gears 1-2 season behind with 600-900 ms latency to play with (from indonesia). Already got him to work on the linux route but havent been able to play lately. So to be honest not too much use of him.
And another priest thats on 340ish resil and 9k++ buffed hp. (thankfully hes working on his gears pretty hard, and plays decently a lot too, so in due time it will be good) You'd think thats good right? not really. At our level of competition, that kinda stats spells insta-gib. And thats what happened, we played against double happiness team Hongkongkoonyun multiple matches and all they do is feed on our priest thanks to his lesser gear. While there is pain suppression, it really doesnt help when every DPS is glue'd to an undergeared priest that can rely nothing but instants.
http://www.wowarmory.com/team-info.xml?r=S...HongKongKoonYunSee their amazing track record? Noticed the 3 losses? We dented those losses. Pretty much, even in our horribly weakened state, we are still their only competition, sad to say. (running dual disc priest healer, and one being an undergeared priest too, isnt good AT ALL. and minus me being 1 leather, my entire team consists of clothies, wtf lol) With all that said, thus far, despite the 3 losses we inflicted to them, they pounded us harder with AT LEAST 8+ losses. The only relieving thing (if one would ever consider that) out of the disaster is that every win we got from them yielded us 20+ ratings and the losses we faced only cut us up by around 10+ ratings. in total i think we've prolly lost maybe 30-40ish ratings to them.
Still, even if the losses arent high, it puts us further and further behind competition and that is not good at all. With all the above said and happenings, at least we're still in a DECENT position despite the huge gap lagging behind from the main competition of our BG/Server/Faction sitting at 1700 ratings and a 36-12 75% win ratio track record. Nonetheless we will make a comeback and hopefully it will be happening with some fresh meats that we are about to fill.
Moving on to the 3v3's out of the tasteless and rather disastrous 5v5 update, it has been pretty interesting and exciting on the 3v3's. Although for the most part we arent having much competitions at all, mainly im assuming the fact that we're running RMP and me being on the HARP rogue band wagon. For those who dont know the terms, RMP stands for RogueMagePriest, AKA the holy trinity (rogue[used to be mutilate rogue but now being HARP] + frost mage + Healing priest [used to be 28/33 or 27/34 healing priest, now full disc priest]) and HARP Rogue stands for
Hemorrhage
Adrenaline
Rush
Preparation Rogue. Most of our losses are majorly by our own noobish mistakes or us not taking our competition serious enough. (Mainly my part perhaps, as ive mentioned i dont take 2v2/3v3 serious enough, mainly attributed from RPS and RNG issues on the 2's/3's brackets, RPS being rock papers scissors and RNG being random number generation aka lucky procs)
Yesterday night we were pushing it really hard as our priest is hoping for his shoulders very badly upon update on Tuesday. We hit 1999 rating just 1 short, only to lose 2 matches (That in the end it is our own mistakes especially being duped to go on the affliction warlock, on paper its the right choice, but that team, theres a much better choice - the mage) denting us ~50 ratings. Against a Mage/AffLock/Disc priest, the most ideal target is to pound on the AFF lock to prevent any UA being landing on the team. Sadly, there is a much better choice and a VERY CRITICAL choice at that. The mage for their team is insane on sheeping and since shes mostly being left alone, frostbolts hitting for about 1.6-1.8k dmg is a KILLER to our team. On the 3rd match after our losses, we tried to have a run for the mage, we then found out, shes been fooling us all along running with lesser resilience with my eviscerate critting her upwards of 3k dmg (yes 3k, no more no less) Our burst was so hard and fast she didnt even manage to get pain suppression from the priest, and it struck her so bad she didnt even manage to iceblock (died in 2-3 seconds upon engagement). Sadly after that won they stopped q'ing, and from the games we won previously, about 30 ish ratings, we still lost 20ish in the end, what a pity.
So we hit 1998, once again, last 2. Last game being being against a paladin rogue warrior, ALL 3 decked out, and ALL 3 Season 2 gladiators. Just when we thought it will be ok considering our superior class matrix, we were in the end out skilled and probably out latencied (even with 200-300 ms, americans that have sub 100 or even sub 50 latencies are always on the advantage) and we lost 2 matches to them. They finally found a HARD SOLID counter to us - killing our priest with a MS warr + HARP rogue. The dmg done was so insane even with pain suppression our priest only lasted around 5-10+ seconds, on both losing matches denting us almost 50+ ratings yet again. And since it is almost 3AM, with me needing to wake up for work around 6:30am for work, and the priest, being in Australia, and having DST, hes already having sunrise at 6ish AM (+3 hours for his place compared to Msia time) So we had to regrettably calling it off. While me and the mage isnt being too sore/disappointed, our priest is prolly the person hurting the most unable to get his brand new shining shoulders on tuesday. As usual though, we'll pick up from where we fell, and continue on the journey on yet another new week of this new and refreshing season that is Season 3.
And in case i forgotten, some minor announcement:
