im a SS oldskooler here, been playing for around 3+ years, with the same name, same undead rogue. no way im ditching all that now smile.gif
Well you don't have to ditch it, just transfer! laugh.gif

But most of the servers in Bloodlust have crazy long queues so, it might not be a good idea after all. But if you enjoy competitive arena then Bloodlust is fun.

To every PVP'er out there, Season3 has finally begun, and may this be an interesting season for everyone who enjoys PVP be it casual or hardcore. May we give out a warm welcome into the coming of this new season. Hope to see you in the arenas smile.gif

Boy do I hate the first week of the season. All the top teams are still at 1500-1600 laugh.gif

The thing bout WoW pvp is that, I prefer its world pvp a lot more than any other form. The reason why I do BGs and Arenas are for the gears of course. But I do admit the title is hot to have biggrin.gif

by transferring im no longer a storm-scaler, now would i? smile.gif

and hey, world pvp with top pvp gears is a real pushover, unless your targets have the same ammount of gear/skill. but it is satisfying time to time no doubt, insta-gibbing drinking mages never gets old

First week of season 3 coming to an end, and we're currently having a very good start. While our opposition alliance asia/pacific (Hongkongkoonyun) team is 8 points ahead of us having a 18 win 0 loss score. We arent doing bad either with a staggering 27 win and 2 loss score, with the 2 loss robbing us off close to 40 ratings.

Most importantly, we are amongst the top10-20ish stormscale 5v5 team right now, which puts us in a huge lead over the rest of the stormscale team. One interesting point to mention too is that we are just 29 points behind HOTIRL team which is a top3 horde Stormscale team since season1 until season2, and even many occassions being #1 horde team too, and aside their pvp achievements, HOTIRL, which comprises mainly of members from JUICE guild, is also stormscale no1 Horde raiding guild, that is attempting illidan or already downed illidan from black temple.

And onto our team update, since we are on the push for more ratings on the last day of the week before ratings rolling over, we had to sub in a lesser and weaker member of our guild since the american healers are not on. So we invited Apostrof, a disc priest with 8k unbuffed hp and 280 resilience. Against any high end arena team, stats like that for a priest basically means insta-gib free honor kill. Thankfully for us we're still lowly rated due to the season reset, so we figured, might as well try our luck.

Turned out to be rather decent with our interesting dual disc priest setup, running along with rogue + warlock + feral druid rotating side by side with our hunter. With our warlock sakumi being almost permanently power infused, dot damage was getting rather out of hand with every tick dealing 3-5k dmg across the board with about 2-3 people being dotted. it was so bad that the healings coming from drains/deathcoil/siphon life even out heal our priests' individual healing at one point. And on defensive side, with not one, but TWO pain suppression to ultilize, even with apostrof's lesser gear, our foes are finding him seemingly unkillable thanks to pain suppression and cc's from our team. To make matters worse for them, reflective shield dealing around 1k dmg everytime PWS is popped is also proven to be effective in killing our enemies faster.

On some rather sad news, the Paladin on our 5v5 roster - Viraxis decided to join a raiding guild to participate in raids too, while we have no problem for our members to participate in pve or raids, we do not allow people that isnt in our guild to arena with us. As such, he is no longer in our roster. But just as i was opening up recruitment for a paladin, Sakumi's RL friend, which is also a paladin - Olgalydia, decided to fill in that spot.

What makes him so interesting is that, few weeks or months ago, myself, along with my officers of Death Infused had been trying to recruit this paladin into our ranks. Due to him being attached with his RL friend, a warlock (which is Sakumi, but its unknown to us at that point) and a rogue. At that time we have no guarantees for a spot for the warlock and especially the rogue, so he was reluctant to join us and in the end rejected us. Just recently, we've recruited Sakumi and he just started his first time of arenas with us when season 3 hits. And when i was opening up recruitment for a paladin to replace the previous paladin we lost, he mentioned that his RL friend is a paladin, and it turns out to be Olgalydia himself. What a small small world indeed, making life even in the world of warcraft all the more interesting with each passing day.

Ok finally some updates.

5v5's of late havent been goin too smoothly, we've just lost our 2 american healers that decided to prioritize over raiding, people come and go, so cant be helped.

So what we have here is a paladin thats currently having RL crisis with his baby, that has gears 1-2 season behind with 600-900 ms latency to play with (from indonesia). Already got him to work on the linux route but havent been able to play lately. So to be honest not too much use of him.

And another priest thats on 340ish resil and 9k++ buffed hp. (thankfully hes working on his gears pretty hard, and plays decently a lot too, so in due time it will be good) You'd think thats good right? not really. At our level of competition, that kinda stats spells insta-gib. And thats what happened, we played against double happiness team Hongkongkoonyun multiple matches and all they do is feed on our priest thanks to his lesser gear. While there is pain suppression, it really doesnt help when every DPS is glue'd to an undergeared priest that can rely nothing but instants.

http://www.wowarmory.com/team-info.xml?r=S...HongKongKoonYun
See their amazing track record? Noticed the 3 losses? We dented those losses. Pretty much, even in our horribly weakened state, we are still their only competition, sad to say. (running dual disc priest healer, and one being an undergeared priest too, isnt good AT ALL. and minus me being 1 leather, my entire team consists of clothies, wtf lol) With all that said, thus far, despite the 3 losses we inflicted to them, they pounded us harder with AT LEAST 8+ losses. The only relieving thing (if one would ever consider that) out of the disaster is that every win we got from them yielded us 20+ ratings and the losses we faced only cut us up by around 10+ ratings. in total i think we've prolly lost maybe 30-40ish ratings to them.

Still, even if the losses arent high, it puts us further and further behind competition and that is not good at all. With all the above said and happenings, at least we're still in a DECENT position despite the huge gap lagging behind from the main competition of our BG/Server/Faction sitting at 1700 ratings and a 36-12 75% win ratio track record. Nonetheless we will make a comeback and hopefully it will be happening with some fresh meats that we are about to fill.

Moving on to the 3v3's out of the tasteless and rather disastrous 5v5 update, it has been pretty interesting and exciting on the 3v3's. Although for the most part we arent having much competitions at all, mainly im assuming the fact that we're running RMP and me being on the HARP rogue band wagon. For those who dont know the terms, RMP stands for RogueMagePriest, AKA the holy trinity (rogue[used to be mutilate rogue but now being HARP] + frost mage + Healing priest [used to be 28/33 or 27/34 healing priest, now full disc priest]) and HARP Rogue stands for Hemorrhage AdrenalineRush Preparation Rogue. Most of our losses are majorly by our own noobish mistakes or us not taking our competition serious enough. (Mainly my part perhaps, as ive mentioned i dont take 2v2/3v3 serious enough, mainly attributed from RPS and RNG issues on the 2's/3's brackets, RPS being rock papers scissors and RNG being random number generation aka lucky procs)

Yesterday night we were pushing it really hard as our priest is hoping for his shoulders very badly upon update on Tuesday. We hit 1999 rating just 1 short, only to lose 2 matches (That in the end it is our own mistakes especially being duped to go on the affliction warlock, on paper its the right choice, but that team, theres a much better choice - the mage) denting us ~50 ratings. Against a Mage/AffLock/Disc priest, the most ideal target is to pound on the AFF lock to prevent any UA being landing on the team. Sadly, there is a much better choice and a VERY CRITICAL choice at that. The mage for their team is insane on sheeping and since shes mostly being left alone, frostbolts hitting for about 1.6-1.8k dmg is a KILLER to our team. On the 3rd match after our losses, we tried to have a run for the mage, we then found out, shes been fooling us all along running with lesser resilience with my eviscerate critting her upwards of 3k dmg (yes 3k, no more no less) Our burst was so hard and fast she didnt even manage to get pain suppression from the priest, and it struck her so bad she didnt even manage to iceblock (died in 2-3 seconds upon engagement). Sadly after that won they stopped q'ing, and from the games we won previously, about 30 ish ratings, we still lost 20ish in the end, what a pity.

So we hit 1998, once again, last 2. Last game being being against a paladin rogue warrior, ALL 3 decked out, and ALL 3 Season 2 gladiators. Just when we thought it will be ok considering our superior class matrix, we were in the end out skilled and probably out latencied (even with 200-300 ms, americans that have sub 100 or even sub 50 latencies are always on the advantage) and we lost 2 matches to them. They finally found a HARD SOLID counter to us - killing our priest with a MS warr + HARP rogue. The dmg done was so insane even with pain suppression our priest only lasted around 5-10+ seconds, on both losing matches denting us almost 50+ ratings yet again. And since it is almost 3AM, with me needing to wake up for work around 6:30am for work, and the priest, being in Australia, and having DST, hes already having sunrise at 6ish AM (+3 hours for his place compared to Msia time) So we had to regrettably calling it off. While me and the mage isnt being too sore/disappointed, our priest is prolly the person hurting the most unable to get his brand new shining shoulders on tuesday. As usual though, we'll pick up from where we fell, and continue on the journey on yet another new week of this new and refreshing season that is Season 3.

And in case i forgotten, some minor announcement:
Yeap, you've guessed it, RECRUITMENT IS NOW OPEN FOR ONE SPOT!!!

We're seeking for a Resto Shaman or Resto Druid. Dont hesitate or wait any further, join up with one of the most engaging and competitive Malaysian/Asia Pacific WoW arena team/guilds around, ONLY ONE SPOT up for grabs.

hehe sorry for the lack of updates to those expecting one, been reeeaaaal busy of late pumping for the ranks, our 3v3 currently sit on top 6 stormscale and top 30ish cyclone BG, with 2012 rating. We were 2040 rating with top 3 stormscale and top 20ish cyclone, sadly a loss of 28 ratings pushed us far back down to 2012 as mentioned.

Anyways im updating recruitments, will edit this post again once done

At long last, our 5v5 glory is finally relived and it kicked off with a great bang. Yesterday night, as usual, we were doing our normal 5v5 with HARP rogue/disc priest/frost mage/feral druid/resto druid. For one this setup already have a stacking class, which makes a 5v5 composition pretty weak due to the lack of varitiey in spells/abilities, and secondly our resto druid is badly undergeared (new recruit, and prior to resto he was feral) and lacks experience especially within high-end pvp world. Things were a little bumpy with people (usually our priest being the focus of zerging all the time) dying where they shouldnt and having blind/cyclones (2 druids) burning up upon each other by diminishing returns.

But that all changed after the 8th ish game, a shaman was expressing his interest in our pvp guild/team, and thus i performed the usual interviews, and since im satisfied with all the answers given, along with his decent stats (around 1700 healings and close to 400 resil) he was invited without much hesitations. (went through some minor discussion in the officer channels and its all green light in there)

Since the 5v5 queues were going pretty decent that night, we figured, might as well bring him in for straight live runs, to see how well he does, besides, we dont have much to lose since we were no longer in the top10 rankings since the 5v5 got inactive for a few weeks. First few runs, although being pitted with horrible scrub teams, ive already been seeing good totem maintainence, and good purging/shockings and support from his part, showing a lot of good qualities right there. Granted, all the above should be expected as he is from texas, just finished college and being NBTD (nothing better to do) and having FIVE level 70's, with the 6th being a level 6x paladin on its way to 70, and his warrior is a gladiator (gothor) with his warlock half set season3 too, to sum it all up - a good wow nerd and doesnt suck, and thats obviously a good addition to our team.

After a few matches, our team and especially the shaman is finally being put to the test facing a pretty decent Warrior/holy paladin/disc priest/enh shaman/frost mage team. With a little surprise, the shaman stepped up his game being hella aggressive on purges, earth shock interrupts, and grounding/tremor totem counters. And with the addition to bloodlust and power infusion, our mage is dishing out horrendous damage via back to back frostbolt shatter combos or even Arcane missles that does a barrage of 3-4k dmg onslaught even when none of them critted, along with myself lusted, having white crits of 800-1.5k and SND (slice and dice) + Bladeflurry + trinket + A.rush running, AND feral druid increased attack speed having higher omen of clarity procs, things goes down FAST. Picture a 12k+ hp priest, with 450++ resilience, dying in 4-8 seconds, THATS how insane those said dmg were going for. Bloodlusted mana burns are pretty rediculous too as it can run someone oom from full in around 10-20 secs if no one is bothered to interrupt the priest, and to add in DOUBLE offensive dispels rendering crucial paladin buffs such as BOP/BOF being removed almost instantly (within the 0.x-1.x second timeframe) is also another load of offensive PAIN that we can unload upon our enemies. Even if the enemy goes balls deep on debuff buffers with warlock/priest/mage/paladin/warrior setups (thats a lot of buffs to purge/dispel).

Whats even better is that it relived our nostalgic original 5v5 setup (all the same members, except misko being the resto sham). That certainly brought back a lot of good memories, just not the mom ambushing our resto shaman part tongue.gif

Damage aside, the setup we run can also really SCREW a person's healing (which is essential vs 2 healer 5v5 setups) really really badly when co-ordinated right. Priest with fear and mind control, mage has counterspell and sheeps, i have blind, kick, stuns and gouges, druid have maim/feral charge/cyclones/bash, shaman have earth shocks and warstomp. Performed well, we have the potential of denying any forms of healings for at least a good 10-20+ seconds, and even if the heals do get out, theres always a 5 stack wound poison debuff waiting for it to negate half healings.

And since cc's were mentioned, fear, cyclone, blind, sap, sheeps are all damn good CC's to keep 2-3 people out of commisioned for a decent ammount of time. Tilting the tables to our favor indefinitely. With all things said and done, we marathoned our arenas all the way to 3AM+ (6AM+ for the aussies) facing 3 decently tough teams and all 3 teams yielded 8-12 ratings to us. Obviously everyone was tired but most importantly we definitely had fun, and the end result you may ask?
http://www.wowarmory.com/arena-ladder.xml?...th+Infused+Five
http://www.wowarmory.com/team-info.xml?r=S...fused+Five&fl=1

Number 6 Stormscale
Number 65 Cyclone
28 wins 0 lose with 85% win ratio

Just an update to my recruitment thread:
Recruits are now officially closed with a full 10 man 5v5 team roster smile.gif

ooh, whole day 0 post on LYN wow forum.

well, lets break the silence.

normally i would try to write up an article here, especially when we had one HELL of an epic battle yesterday against our arch enemy - team hongkongkoonyun (11minute intense battle uphill climb madness). but im dead lazy so im not gonna do that. ill probably do a news post on jomwow though.

=edit=
doh.gif
ah how could i forget, we are now 2031 rating on 5v5, #2 on server #51 on BG.
this morning update #3 on server #53 on BG.

and all 8 members in our roster getting 1.1k arena points this week.
hope this shows that if ur accepting into our team, you are guaranteed your points unless you yourself not showing up for arenas.

and with that said, we are still looking for fill our 2 spots, with a holy paladin, and last spot maybe for a hunter or warrior.

bumping to keep thread alive, and yes, still recruiting a dedicated msian holy paladin. we've had multiple paladin canditates in the past and even now we have one but they are all pretty much failures and either couldnt adapt to our timezone, or just arent the 2k+ rating caliber.

resto shamans are also welcomed as we now have a win-fury needy warrior.
