This is only for hire purchase and fixed rate islamic financing:

I can confirm that Maybank and Ambank, yes you need to opt in for your hire purchase loan.
So is up to individual bank to decide what will be the "opt in" method.
*
Yes, I agree it is up to the bank. But problem arises when there is contradicting information by the same bank

For Maybank, do you see the 2 links in the Hire Purchase screen
CONFIRM DEFERMENT & CONTINUE REPAYMENT.

I was on the auto-moratorium when it was first announced (the interest free)

was about to ask that too. Just found out wife's car next repayment date is on Dec 2020 (because we paid on April and May) although we have replied the opt out SMS.

Same.
Before paid for May, next repayment date is Nov 2020
After paid for May, next repayment is Dec 2020

Weird but I think I will just continue paying.

Even with public bank, nothing. Just the thank you acknowledgement after clicking submit on the online form.

One mistake in filling the form and bye bye

Ic. I was waiting for an sms or email but received nothing. I find it weird. But since others experienced the same then I guess it's normal then.

Just logon to your M2U Classic to check the DUE DATE of the next loan repayment.

Hi all,
I have home loan with MBB & opt out from moratorium to continue payment.
Suppose MBB autodeduct my payment 2x end of Apr (for Apr & May payment) but they only deduct 1x (for Apr maybe).
And today I check transaction history they already charged interest before deducting my payment for May.
My concern is they charged interest 2x before payment.

MORATORIUM ending 30/9.

so far, found out HSBC personal loan offering options:
1. in OCT, pay 6 months INTEREST + OCT installment
2. OCT pay installment as usual, INTEREST to be paid together at the last installment
3. opt out now and pay 6 installment + OCT installment in OCT

I want to, on behalf of my wife as she's currently not working and has no income. Only expected to work again next year february or march.

I read few news articles saying that if borrower has any difficulty, they should talk to their bank as bank will consider all situations that debtor are facing.

However when I give a call to bank's customer service or read information on their website, it keep mentioning that it is only applicable for retrenched or salary cut.

I thought personal loan do not have extra interest and only extend 6 months of your loan???
I thought only housing loan and hire purchase have extra interest?
so it turns out that banks earn more at the end...

so far, found out:---
HSBC personal loan offering options:
1. in OCT, pay 6 months INTEREST + OCT installment
2. OCT pay installment as usual, INTEREST to be paid together at the last installment
3. opt out now and pay 6 installment + OCT installment in OCT

Citibank personal loan offering option:
1. Extend your installment period to a MINIMUM 6 months depending on your accrued interest of the 6 months

Your wife is retrenched due to covid? If not the covid-19 impact should not have anything to do with her.

Repayment Assistance: Update your loan/financing recurring payments on M2U when the moratorium ends on 30th September

Dear Valued Customers,

With the moratorium ending on 30th September, your loan/financing repayment will resume effective 1st October.

If your recurring payments on M2U were automatically suspended during the moratorium, it will be enabled on 1st October. As your instalment amount may have changed due to OPR reduction in July, we would like to remind you to log in to your Maybank2u to review and update your recurring payments if necessary.

If you have previously cancelled your loan/financing recurring payments on M2U due to the moratorium, log in to your M2U account to set it up so you won’t miss any payment in the future.

Click here for more information on how to set up recurring payments on your M2U.
