if u guys realize, the term they extend from like 60 to 66 months, then u realize actually u need to pay 6 months extra of same monthly installment. so if now ur term is 30/60 it will become 30/66, then now u paying rm600 per month, later 6 month later ur term still 30/66, but u now need to pay extra 6months at the end, which is 6 times 600 is rm3600 extra. I ask SC bank they also sohai cannot advise me on the actual installment i need to pay.

unless the term if u no pay the term will still gerak la. so the best way is to take time can go to bank to ask the bank officer directly.

Wut are you even saying?

You are not paying extra, your 6 months deferment is just deferred to the additional 6 months at the end.

Those with HP loans under PBB, u do not need to do anything to be qualified for the 6 mths loan moratorium as it is an auto process. Should you wish not to take up the 6 months, you may continue to pay ur monthly instalment.

err cos ur term will extenf 6 months. u understand what im saying? cos loan punya term is like 5years is 60months. so u start pay 1st term 2nd term 3rd term until 60th term. now u stop at 50th term. According to the statement here is tat term will be extended for 6 months, so become 50/66. But after u paused at 50th term, u no pay 51st until 56th term, it will still jalan itself? if it still same 50/66, then ur leftover term is 16 term, if previously before u extend is 10term only. so u need pay extra 6 term.

Simple things don’t have to make it complicated.

If you don’t pay now for 6 months, you extend 6 months.

If you don’t want to extend 6 months, you pay now.

Is it so hard to understand?

i am confuse by your flawless logic.

why the extra 6 month term?

now it is 6 month defer paying mean YOU no need to pay a single cent.
and yes.....extend the 6 month repayment after the original contract

am i right?

I went to section 14 hp dept last few days ago to settle some stuff and many were queuing to speak to hp officers. They were told by hp officer that they don't have to submit any form or inform the bank if they wish to opt in as by default every eligible customer will be on auto opt-in basis. If you want to opt out the moratorium can just continue paying ur hp loan.

What the officer said tally with what I seen at PBe in which the due date of next payment is auto-shown to be in Oct. However, if you read the announcement by PBB at its website (also at few pages earlier), customers are asked to fill up a form. So very conflicting instructions from the bank.

You are the stupid one. If you are not sure, just ask nicely.

No one is saying it is a free 6 months loan, because banks are not doing charity. What you borrow, you have to pay back.

The moratorium is a 6 months deferment with no additional interest? Not good enough? You can defer your 6 months into the future without paying anything extra.

This 6 months is very crucial because some people might lose their job, reduced salary etc. Even if you do not need the additional money, it’s still a no brainer to take the moratorium since there’s no additional interest.

This is only for hire purchase and fixed rate islamic financing:

I can confirm that Maybank and Ambank, yes you need to opt in for your hire purchase loan.
So is up to individual bank to decide what will be the "opt in" method.
