Guys can anyone tell me usually how much would I have to pay per month for a person under my condition? I would prefer to just have medical card. I asked some insurance agents and most said at my age it’s impossible to pay less than 300 and that really put a sour taste in my mouth.

A standalone medical card will be approximately RM 170, for a RM 250 R&B

Whereas a ILP with RM 300 R&B will be monthly RM 200 p/m. Standard life.

Can someone educate me?

Why is there a confusion on insurance coverage in terms of covid19?

I know it is an exclusion, but now some companies are claiming they cover. But its never the full bill, just "cash incentives or daily cash payouts". Therefore, it means they never cover the full bill.

However, LIAM and PIAM said insurers will cover. Is there a difference in definition here or is everyone issuing statements without consulting each other?

Thanks

A snippet from the statement from LIAM.

Pretty clear cut, if the insurer does pay you for some benefits pertaining to the pandemic, consider yourself blessed.

hi Phonzy, confusion is because of type of claims. whatever that is covered now is giving only the daily allowances if admitted to hospital due to covid or death due to covid. it is different in terms of covering the medical bill when you go for covid treatment. as of now, it is still uncertain whether medical/treatment expenses is covered by medical card if admitted to private hospital.

What sort of quote you're looking for?

What are the areas of concern?

What is your existing coverage amount?

What's your budget?

Hi guys, was browsing thru the thread and found a point which perked my interest.

Could anyone further explain on what exactly does the 2 years of contestability applicable to?
Is it based on the type of insurance or the circumstances?

Something like:
(1) Standalone medical plan to ILP and vice versa? (changing the type of insurance plan)
(2) Switching ILP from company A to company B? (switching to another agency)
(3) Changing same type of insurance plan under the same company, e.g. ILP1 to ILP2, Medical card 1 to medical card 2
(from my understanding in previous post, some companies do offer waiver of waiting period in (3) subjected to T&C?)

hi plurbuddyskuppy, by "no critical illness" stated, you mean you do not want critical illness insurance/benefits or your family members have no critical illness history?

hi digilife, what is the GE medical card name that you are referring to? because older one does not cover beyond certain age. newer ones can be renewable up to age 99 once coverage term reached.

Something like:
(1) Standalone medical plan to ILP and vice versa? (changing the type of insurance plan)
when you replace your standalone medical card with ILP medical card rider (within the same company), likely there is no contestability period/waiting period. by right you should receive a notice when you do so. (do check with your insurance company because it may varies)

(2) Switching ILP from company A to company B? (switching to another agency)
so long its a new policy, contestability period applies to the new policy. (even if you buy a new policy within the same company)

(3) Changing same type of insurance plan under the same company, e.g. ILP1 to ILP2, Medical card 1 to medical card 2
(from my understanding in previous post, some companies do offer waiver of waiting period in (3) subjected to T&C?)
this only applies to medical card replacement. changing from ILP1 to ILP2 (ILP2 is still a new plan bought, so contestability still applies).
*
hi eeesiang, contestability period means that period where insurance company can investigate the claims before approving, if there is any dispute/non-disclosure, then company can reject the claim or void policy.
