I am just wondering if there are things in there which I do not need and is it normal to have such high premiums at 26?  sweat.gif
I have had insurance with them since i was a teenager and just changed to smoker status officially.

Well I can try to compute something for comparison for you if you're open for that

I am a 24 yo non smoking female with considerably high myopia, still in university, have not bought any insurance before, and want to buy medical insurance, what should I get? Preferably it covers critical illness.
Also, I feel stupid to ask, is there insurance plan that will pay for my medical fees such as consultation, treatment, tests, admitting to the hospital etc without having me to pay from my wallet first?

Thanks
*
I see, as long as its not detrimental to your sight, should be okay.

All medical cards covers hospitalization which normally covers both Critical and non critical illness. It will also cover accidents which falls under outpatient and inpatient depending on severity.

For medical card nowadays, it's cashless but sometimes you are required to come up with a deposit if required by the hospital.

Outpatient Accident are required to pay first and file back a claim

Hi, I am a 26 y/o non smoker male who is looking to top up my life insurance coverage for RM500k. I am currently comparing the ILPs between:

1. Prudential PruWealth Max
2. GreatEastern SmartProtect Legacy Max
3. AIA A-Life Wealth Care
(I approached Allianz as well but it's ILP - PremierLink Advance is not as feature-packed as the other 3)

All the ILPs are of 5 years premium payment term and sum assured 500k with waiver rider. The monthly premium for Pru and GE is the same @ 1109, while the monthly premium for AIA is ~1165. Pru and AIA coverage term is until ANB70 (auto extendable to ANB100), while GE is until ANB100.

Can I get some feedback on which ILP should I go for? Coz currently I am only with Pru (Prulife ready policy) so I am not sure how the other 2 insurers perform in terms of stability in investment returns as well as the smoothness of claim process.
*
Your priority is to secure 500k and finish payment in 5 years right ?

Policy sustainable until age 70 across the board ?

I see, what are the medical insurance with a bit of life, critical illness and waiver coverage are there on the market? Can you name a few? Do they come with the medical card as well?
*
It's called an investment linked policy whereby you have the flexibility to add-on benefits such as
Death/Disability
Critical Illness
Waiver of Premium
Personal Accident
Hospitalization (Medical Card)
etc

Most life insurance company offer such products. However the premium payable will be much higher compared to a standalone hospitalization plan.

Where can buy insurance (medical card) online without going through agent and then get rebate?

You can visit the insurance company website directly as they will list the product for sale.

Whole life start 26 yo for 40 years, no ILP.

$100/month, good deal?

I feel like cancelling life insurance tbh, no plan to get married knock someone up at the moment.

Sounds good.

QUOTE(jack2 @ Jun 24 2020, 12:25 AM)
let me check it.

I am trying to buy for my sister who is OKU in "intelektual' but Manulife wanted her to do medical check up and premium is high.

I don't see there are any valid reasons for the needed to do medical check and impose high premium. Don't tell me intelektual has higher risk in all diseases.

Is this one kind of discrimination?
*
Just a measure by the insurance company to make sure the person is normal and sane.

Otherwise get risked of claims getting rejected in the future and don't complain why insurance company reject for non-disclosure.

It's your definition against the doctor's definition. Get her checked by the panel doctor for the insurance company and have a peace of mind.

Thanks for the response.

ILP is a red line I will not cross personally, I would rather keep it simple and pay minimum amount required to get insured.

But again, I don't have any dependants and not sure if it will remain this way for foreseeable future. And will RM 1M will be too much?
*
1 mil ? that depends, I don't know you personally so I can't say whether it's too much or too little.

But for a 26 years old, definitely looks high for a single person.

But then I feel like giving it a pass coz I got 0 dependants now, I feel like my current short term CI coverage should be sufficient.

I was attracted with this plan by then because the agent told me the cash value can be withdrawn after 10 years without any charges. And the cash value is almost same as I paid for the past 10 years according to the schedule shown, so I sort of think of it as a forced saving as well. But reading in forum, I feel like over insured but I’m not sure đŸ¤”

I rather get a good advise first then get a product.

Just wondering if the insurance agent living different place with the client, let say the agent live in Kedah while the client live in KL.

Any difficulties in terms of helping the client to claim / follow-up with the insurance provider if something went wrong?
*
Nowadays with the internet, it's quite simple. Your agent don't have to be physically present other than signing of the policy.

As the agent is just an intermediary, your contract is with the insurance company, so in any case if you're based in KL, you can always drive up to the Branches or HQ to deal directly with the insurance company for any claims matter.

Thanks ya.

Uh I can definitely say it's not the cheapest but the coverage is above average than the other companies.

So can I understand as if agent is located far away from the client then the agent might not be able to handle claim as effectively as the agent able to?
*
Not necessary as documents can be couriered and insurance companies have branches in other smaller stats though not all.

But yes there can be a delay of 1 - 2 days extra as documents may be take some time to courier.

Hi,

I am currently age 27, and my medical policy started more than 3 years ago on nov-2016.

My medical policy covered until age 100, under GE which the premium is 200 monthly, with 990k yearly and unlimited lifetime medical cost, 50k on life/tpd/CI and 20 years premium waiver.

Recently I checked on the GE portal, it show that my policy can sustain until end of policy term.
Can I know:
1. Is it really rm200/m can sustain until age 100?
2. How trustworthy is the projection on the sustainability? Where can I get the info how the project it?
*
1. May or May not depending on the repricing of cost of insurance over the course of the years till you are 100 years old

2. You may refer to your policy or go to eConnect via the GE online portal to check.

All investment are subject to risk and you should take whatever that is projected with a pinch of salt that it may achieve such figure as well.

Then again but insurance because you need the coverage and not for Investment purposes.

Hi ckdenion. The payout for CI is only applicable after the patient is discharged is it? I have another question though. For female illnesses, it's not covered in any Medical Card right?
Sorry but what is the main difference between standalone and term life insurance?

QUOTE

Yes personal accident is a rider that you can add on. It basically pays out if there is loss of limbs, accidental Death and injuries sustained from accidents.

QUOTE

You may add on any rider in the future subject to your health status at that later time.

QUOTE

Yes payout for CI will normally have a survival clause which is somewhere around 30 days from the incident.

Female illness or should I say anything related to hospitalization is covered by medical card but if you need extra pocket money to sustain your lifestyle then a female specific illness plan will help to provide that extra financial support.

QUOTE
Sorry but what is the main difference between standalone and term life insurance?

Standalone or term insurance is the same. You normally can't add on rider on it, it doesn't have any investment elements and you pay only the cost of insurance for the coverage. You may sometimes get to specify your term of coverage ie Life insurance but not applicable for medical insurance in this case.

You may choose an ILP investment link policy insurance where you have a basic death benefit where you can add on riders such as
Critical illness
Personal accident
Hospital & surgical benefit
Waiver of premium
Etc.

Cheers.
