What motherboard are you actually using right now? DS3 or DS3R? Revision 2.0 or 2.1?
Latest BIOS version for:
1) DS3R 2.1 = F11
2) DS3 2.1 = F3B

Make sure you have the right BIOS for your motherboard model, copy the downloaded BIOS file onto a thumbdrive... Restart your computer, plug in your thumbdrive, press <F9> during POST and Q-Flash will load. Browse to your thumbdrive, select the BIOS file... Flash

Simple as that, I'm on the latest BIOS for DS3R which has this new Super I/O code, no problems so far but I dunno what is it for

i get 56C if i get the case open. the thin heatsink is really under perform.

bro, mind telling me wat ur FSB and the multiplier are achieving 3.2 ghz? 400x8? or 356x9? ermmm, U set 1.387 on bios rite, and can pass the orthos in 2 hours? ermm jus my opinion, u should have gone for more than 2 hours bro, because last time, Even in already 3 hours, suddenly auto-reboot, euh2uhe, I upped my vcore then It cud pass orthos until 10 hours, Becoz actually I ve been struggling with my e2160 Mo stepping until I ve manged to find the right vcore, but U kno waht at least I have to stay at 1.425, anything below that, it will fail accordingly, even at only 347x9.

ermm according to sniper, he already even set a vcore at 1.5 something, still can not. dunno wat's wrong with thie e2160, even it's a Mo stepping aihh, ermm now am running 390x8 at 1.425, seems like quite stable, already 4 hours stable on orthos, still priming it now though, before this i tried FSB 391, auto reboot in within 2 hours, at the same vcore, I gues if i wanna go for higher than fsb 391, I gotta up the vcore from 1.425, but since I still use the stock hsf, Iam targetting 1.42 as the max vcore. so rite now still searching the max FSb for both multipliers 8 and 9, at the moment I assume The most stable settings and the max FSB for my 2160 are 350x9 and 390x8. take a note, vcore 1.425

you kidding me that your Vdrop is 0.04V so much to say about GGbyte boards...If your Vdrop is 0.04V, then expect a stable to be at 1.38V on CPU-z which is 1.42V on BIOS. That is only if your e2160 can do 400*8 with that voltage la.

strider 400watts well, i changed mine to the st56f and it was the same anyways.. so psu is not an issue if u have least things on your rig. But is your psu 4 pin?

well the 4 pin is for the cpu... nowadays psu comes with 8 pins.// yeah i believe so too.. the chances of getting a good e21** proc now is rare, unless u have the means to use WC to OC at 1.7V stable

honestly bro, 3.2Ghz is pretty good already for an e21** series.. anything more is a bonus, because only if u r gaming or benchmarking, then anything more would bring a tidy difference..

My proc, E2160 and mobo J&W JW-IN7100-HD.
It also have overclocking option at bios.
But the problem is when i change the frequency and save it
at starting bios will appear message at bottom "Warning! Now system is in safe mod. Please re-setting CPU or memory frequency in the CMOS setup."
press F1 to continue and DEL to enter bios setup.

sometimes this mssage doesn't appear and booting well with cpu overclocked to the speed which has been set.
and sometimes this mssage appear and if i press F1 to continue it will run at stock cpu speed. I'm newbie in overclocking..

i already hit 3ghz with stock vcore and using 9x multi.
run prime95 no sweat for 2 hours but when orthos, only survive 3mins.
so i will increase my vcore and pass beyond 3.4ghz by all OCer guidance.
